My sister and I had lunch here after we did some shopping in SM Aura. The restaurants on the top floor still weren't open so we had to eat at the food court. Their Food Court wasn't that bad actually. It had good lighting and it did not feel crowded and tight spaced like the typical food courts in SM malls.
We wanted to try this new place. This place served the food with raw meat, rice, butter, corn, and other spices on a sizzling plate. The concept was that you would just sit at your table wait for your food to cook on that sizzling plate in front of you. We knew that some places served their food on sizzling plates so that it was still hot but we never heard about sizzling plates used to cook raw meat.
So we tried their food. I ordered their Beef Pepper Rice which was just about Php 150. While I was lining up, I saw how the food was being prepared. The meat and other ingredients were prepared by a guy who was wearing gloves. It looked sanitary to me but I think was just to entertain people waiting in line because I was impressed with what he was doing and that really made the waiting less tiring.
So I received a flat circle shaped contraption that would buzz when my order was ready. I waited on our table. When the thing buzzed, I went to the counter to pickup my food.
It smelled delicious. The plate looked very hot becaus everything on it, the raw meat, the rice, corn, and butter were all sizzling. I had to mix the rice because the bottom would be burnt if I didn't The meat, surprisingly, was cooked nicely when the plate cooled off. The melted butter and corn gave this additional flavor to the rice. While the meat had ample seasonings. The meal was alright for me. It was something different. The meat was cooked right in front of me so I had no problem with the food getting cold or the meat being raw or overcooked.
The concept was something new and the price was okay (although their other meals reached up to Php 400.) Their Pepper rice had something new to offer, concept wise and taste wise. read more
