Wellcome Supermarket is one of those surprising little supermarkets that has a lot of bargains to help stretch the budgets of wise shoppers.
Located at the ground floor of the Metropoint Mall at the corner of EDSA and Taft Avenue in Pasay City, Wellcome bills itself as your "friendly neighborhood supermarket." The owners must be fans of SpiderMan, I guess. The supermarket is small compared to the biggies like Puregold, but it has a near captive clientele for no other reason that its location. People who take the LRT and/or MRT an easily drop by and buy their day-to-day needs. They will be pleasantly surprised when they see the assorted bargains offered by Wellcome.
All supermarkets have these specials, of course. But it just seems that Wellcome has more than the others. By this I mean the boxes of cereals that come with free drinks, or the buy one, take one breads and whatnot.
Their prices are also on the low side which is to be expected because one of their next door neighbors is the old Liana's grocery or supermarket which has been around for decades.
I drop by Wellcome quite often since I prefer to take the LRT whenever I need to go to Manila. I recommend it for bargain shoppers. read more
