They dont pick up phone . I called over 3 days , was put on hold . My call log showed 57 attempts to speak to someone. Today I arrived at 7:25 am. All doors locked, 7:50 door was unlocked . I walk in to a manager who flat out lies to your face . When asked why they don't pock up phone , he looked at me and said . " the phone has not rung" when asked why door was locked , looked me in the face and said ," the door was open" this is a manager of a publicly traded company with utter contempt for the truth . Needless to say these people absolutely are not to be trusted to tell you what might be wrong with your car . The fleet account required the car be serviced here , I called them and told them that it's on them to learn to navigate the maze of lies . DO NOT TRUST ANYONE IN BUSINESS THAT LIES TO YOUR FACE ! Last night, because my car had a problem that I needed to have fixed within a day, I made an appointment at this Pep Boys to have my car serviced at 1 o'clock today. My experience when I arrived at 1 o'clock was surreal. The guy behind the counter Asked "are they expecting you?" I said I had made an appointment for this time last night and he said "oh, so they're not expecting you." Somewhat surprised I said "but... I have an appointment." He replied "Oh, they never pay attention to those." He then explained that I would be put at the bottom of the stack of work to be done and that I would have to wait three hours for the simple job of replacing an ignition coil. Also, he added $100 to the price that the person last night didn't mention for diagnostics. Also, he asked what kind of truck I had, and when I told him, he said "that's a horrible truck". This is my first and last experience with Manny, Moe, and Jack. So disappointed. Waiting for more surprises when they call me to tell me the work is done. UPDATE: I found a way to get an experience with Pep Boys that was not horrible. I was able to find an auto mechanic nearby who had good Yelp reviews and who was able to service my truck today. I cancelled my "appointment" and took it to them. They did a fantastic job, their customer service was excellent, and the price was reasonable. Upon reflection, I suppose lots of auto shops operate on a first-come first-served basis and place everyone at the bottom of the stack of existing work, but this is not how Pep Boys represented this to me. I also wish they'd have told me about the $100 diagnostic fee when I made the "appointment". read more

I wouldn't even give them one star. I went there to get an oil change and instead of draining my oil and filling it back up they drain my transmission fluid now they can't find my transmission fluid because it is an Audi. And instead of draining my oil they just filled it up on top of the oil that was already in my car and cause my car to smoke out my exhaust and my car wouldn't start. Only time I'm going back to them is to pick up my car and to drop off a bill from Audi dealership if there is anything wrong. If you can't read or tell which one is oil and transmission fluid you shouldn't work on cars. read more

Got 4 tires new tires here. I didn't bother to look at the receipt until I got home and realized they had sold me the extra warranty on them without mentioning it to me. Before I could make it back to have them remove the charge for the warranty I realized one had a slow leak. I took it back for them to fix and they tried to charge me even though I had the freaking warranty. Had to get a quick, last minute oil change so I took my car here because it's close to my house. The next day on my drive to work my engine started to grind and my oil pressure gauge was at the bottom. I stopped the car, got out and saw an a trail of oil the whole way up the road. Found out they cross threaded the oil drain plug and it almost cost me my entire car. I got burned twice... I'll never go back in a million years. read more

The service advisor had an immediate nasty disposition. Finally a coworker intervened and took my info. Absolutely the worst customer service. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! 3 hours for an inspection! Im never taking my business here again. Show up for a 6pm 'appointment' for emissions and inspection on my wife's car, only to be told its going to be an hour wait. After i ask 'What's the point of an appointment?', im told they have to finish working on the car they have before starting another one...obviously not enough employees. Shortly after i tell them im leaving, im told another worker just came in, so they can take my car in now. Perfect timing... After waiting for close to 2 hours, the car still isnt finished. (i forget that you can look inside the bays, and i can see the car still up on lifts. i forgot, but wish i had looked to see when the car was brought in and put up on the lifts, as im sure it wasnt right away, probably closer to an hour) at this point, i dont want to say anything, as i dont want them to "find" anything wrong with the car that's going to cost more and take longer. I watch as it takes the worker 15-20min just to take off the old stickers and replace with new ones, taking his time walking back and forth across the shop several times, making sure to stop and chit-chat with several of his co-workers. The car finally gets pulled around front, and i wait to be called. I finally, after another 15+ minutes, im told they were trying to call the number they had listed, but it was disconnected. (its my wife's phone, it's not disconnected, and she later told me no one tried to call her). I ask the manager if it usually takes that long, he says usually about 1-1-1/2 hrs, and i tell him ive been waiting for 3hrs, and how ridiculous that is. He never once apologizes, only says they had a new guy doing the work, which i find hard to believe with how much talking and joking around he was doing. I had to take my car in for an inspection as well, but they wont be seeing either of our cars for anything after that experience. I wish i could rate them 0 stars. read more

Horrible service. Took our truck over for an appointment for an inspection. Got there and was treated rudely by the service advisor. Then check back for a status and was told yeah we will call you. Get home 15 minutes later mind you and phone rings to come pick up the truck. Couldn't check with the mechanic huh and made me waste gas? Once we pay for it we have to wait for them to put the stickers on. So what was the point of calling us if it wasn't done? Finally I had to get rude to get our truck back. Your customer service has gone downhill Joe and no I'm not calling your customer service rep to discuss, I'm simply never going to use your services again. read more

Mike Castro saved me. No one, local or even the dealer, had the rear shackle for my 99 GMC Denali. After a google search he was able to find ATS Springs in Souderton, PA 18964, (215-799-0900). Had to drive an hour to pick up but if you could have seen the shackle before you knew it needed to be changed. Good job! read more

NEVER again! Been a lifetime customer but never again. Where to begin... Well the guy at the counter will always try to upcharge for everything, knows nothing about cars. The mechanics are lazy, don't wanna mount tires in the rain dude to "safety" so the guy at the counter turns scheduled customers away. After being the recommended installer for tire rack and receiving my tires, they tear apart my car for an hour and call to tell me they won't mount my tires. So they turned me away with a broken tire belt, a donut rim, and two new tires nicely wrapped on my back seat. They were gracious enough not to charge me. Thanks pep boys! I drove to mr tire next door, got me on the road with my new tires and oil change less than an hour. Mr tire saved me, literally. read more

Though they are a chain store, I have always gotten a small garage feel from the guys that work there. For example, I once needed to replace an oxygen sensor and they let me know what I needed (since they didn't have it in stock), called a parts store for them to pull it, and then said that I could get it and it would save me the mark-up on it. read more

i have been going here for several years now. it can be quite busy on a Saturday morning so it may seem like the wait is long but then again ive gone on a friday nite and got in and out. I am writing to express my appreciation for the treatment and service I received at this Pep Boys location on the late afternoon of April 27, 2018. On that day, I showed up at this location driving an out-of-state rental vehicle with a leaking tire problem. The cause or location of the leak was not immediately determinable. They then put the tire through their diagnosis procedure and found an object lodged in the tread near the sidewall. They determined the tire was not repairable, and then installed the spare tire in it's place, thus enabling me to get to my destination for the day. All this work was done at no charge. The treatment and service I received at this facility was first rate in all respects. Obviously I will be recommending this facility to our friends and relatives in the Reading area. read more

Dropped my car of at 8:45 in the morning for an inspection scheduled at 9:00. It's almost 3:00 and I called and they said "we're looking at it now. It should be done by the end of the day" it should NOT take 6 hours. I scheduled early so I can have my car back. I would've taken it somewhere else if I knew they were going to take this long. It took them three hours to inspect the wrong tire! I originally went to Pep Boys to get my car inspected. I scheduled a time and was there a few minutes before that time. It was two hours after the appointment time when they started the inspection. I made the mistake of giving Pep Boys another chance when I found a nail in the left front tire of my car. I scheduled a time and again was there a few minutes before that time. I told the clerk it was the left front tire. He even repeated "Okay, left front tire. We'll look at it." This time it took THREE HOURS before someone looked at my car. They inspected the left rear tire and no surprise, could not find a nail. When I pointed out the mistake, they offered to inspect the correct tire. But I said "No, I don't want to wait another three hours. And don't expect to ever have me as a customer again." I will NEVER go to a Pep Boys store again!!! read more
