Fantastic experience every time I come here. Workers are honest, direct, and helpful. I avoid going anywhere else because they've taken care of me and my family here for YEARS. read more

Solid Auto Shop with Quality Service and Reasonable Prices I've been servicing our family cars at Pep Boys on Veterans Rd, Staten Island since 2011, when we moved to the Prince's Bay neighborhood. From simple inspections and oil changes on new cars to resolving complex startup issues on old ones, the shop has consistently delivered quality service, with prompt updates and friendly customer interaction. They stand by their work, offering warranties on major repairs. Prices are reasonable, and if you keep an eye out for coupons on the Pep Boys website or mailers, you can score even better deals. The shop is open 7 days a week, 8am-6pm (Sun from 9am), which is especially convenient for those of us with tight in-office schedule. I confidently recommend Pep Boys on Veterans Rd for reliable, friendly, and efficient auto service. read more

Hate to give a bad review, but I went here for an oil change and overall maintenance. Couple Weeks later my check engine light came on and my car said my oil was low. My father checked my oil for me and I was completely empty. Turns out the guy who changed my oil never connected the tube and also left 3 screws out of my oil panel so all the oil that he put in leaked out I was completely empty. I called them and had a talk with one of the front desk guys, he told me he would have the manager call me back and I never heard from them again. Not to mention I knew the guy who was doing my oil was a little off considering my keys flew off the windshield when he brought my car around the parking lot and he didn't even notice. Almost 200$ for nothing Just to need to pay for more oil to replace it. Never again read more

Many services performed over several years at this Pep Boys- Happy with results each time. Great manager and staff, especially Jason, who goes above and beyond. read more

Always a pleasant experience at this Pep Boys location. Staff is very friendly and I love getting pictures of what needs to be repaired. I never feel like I'm being upsold. Perfect service in a short amount of time. read more

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I arrived 30 minutes early and they took my car in right away. They found the nail in my tire, fixed it and had me out of there quickly. read more

This is my favorite Pep Boys in Staten Island this auto service and was thoroughly impressed. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. They provided excellent service, taking the time to explain everything clearly and ensuring my car was well taken care of. Went to veterans road . Easy to make an appointment . Car was completed the time it was supposed be done

My husband and I brought our Camry in for 4 new tires. Ash, the manager was very helpful, friendly and accommodating to us. He kept up informed as service was being performed. A very nice experience. Ash is the best!! read more

Terrible service for the holidays , denied for oil change with 2 &1/2 hrs left for there day, being a mechanic I understand it only takes about 30 mins for this with them having 3 cars ahead they could have fit me in for a oil change, I didn't appreciate the unwillingness to help and take care of a customer. read more

If I can give this place negative stars I would. After going to this "service shop" on many occasions to have one of my cars serviced and have my inspection done on many occasions I went today for this years inspection. I ran into the service manager Pedro. He seemed irritated with life! I told him I was due for an inspection and he told me straight up it wasn't going to pass. It seems odd because for the last three years I came here for inspection and it passed with flying colors. Pedro seemed like he wasn't interested in working and doing his job but after convincing him I really needed to get this done today He then finally said okay took my money and my car in the back and 40 mins later came back with a fail notice. I was like wtf is this. He explained that he told me it wasn't going to pass. This service shop is nothing more then a scam. There expensive and they fix nothing. They have a revolving door of employees that come and go. If I were you and if you need a really good place to get your inspection or need something fixed do not come here! (345) read more

Decent place for an oil change. Paid $29 with a 25% coupon. Took 45 minutes even though there was only 1 other car being worked on. No mileage reminder sticker provided and mileage was not noted on the receipt. read more

went there for an oil change and they left a whole piece off the bottom of my car and didn't push the tabs back in. plastic was dragging all over Staten Island. never again read more

Pep Boys - Auto Repair Near Me - Staten Island, New York

The customer service that Ash and Jason provide are second to none. They are both kind and friendly and the work is done as promised. I have had my oil changed and tires replaced read more

I had such a pleasant, easy and quick experience. They even did a free tire rotation with my oil change! Manager was friendly and helpful, he kindly applied a coupon to my service. Definitely would recommend going here for all your car needs! read more

They overbook appointments on their website and when you show up you have to wait forever which wouldn't be bad if the waiting room wasn't standing room only from all the other people waiting on their service. If you want to waste your day there be my guest. My recommendation is to go to any one of the other body shops in the area. read more

If I could give a zero rating I would. It's very irresponsible and aggrevating when you take a day off from work to get an oil change - when you scheduled it a week earlier - only to be told that they booked NINE people for the same time and it would be hours before they got to you!! This place is horrible!! I'm shocked because normally it's excellent service. read more

Unlike their other store on forest, they don't even bother to pickup the phone. Imagine your not looking to purchase their product but actually need help with what you purchased. read more

I scheduled an appointment to bring my car in for a tune up. I live a little bit away so I waited while they worked on my vehicle. They took my car right away. While working they offered to turn the TV down in case it was noisy. The guys were really nice and I look forward to bringing my car back there. read more

Haven't had a bad experience here yet. I always bring mine or the wife's car here for basic oil changes to tires and brakes. I try and use the same guy when I come here since he knows the cars. The longest I ever waited was probably 2 hours. But you don't have to stay and wait , you can drop off your car and they will call you when it's ready. Or if they have to keep it overnight. Thank God they have free WiFi and a Dunkin' Donuts in the parking lot Lol. But all in all they are pretty professional whenever I come . Not to mention there the only mechanic shop in the area and they have a very good track record. It's always busy here but they try very hard to get to your car so they don't keep you waiting. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

PLEASE READ Before I posted a 5 star review talking about how amazing everyone is. Although I can't blame everyone in there this store is full of lying money stealing dishonorable people. I spent $4000 fixing every single little thing on my car having a guarantee it was now in tip top shape. 3 months later car shuts down in the middle of the highway with my BABY in it (which they know about) only to be told by other mechanics the car had engine failure from the start and never should have had anything fixed at all. It was a goner. After demanding a refund back and having it taken to their insurance company these boys have the nerve to say I knew about the engine failure but didn't care? LIKE ANYONE WOULD EVER SAY THAT ESPECIALLY WITH A BABY AT RISK! Disgusting and despicable. I am so hurt and upset by these guys because I truly trusted them and liked them. read more

Made appointment to get an inspection drive all the way out to this location. When we got there we were told the machine wasn't working...no call no nothing. In the car to another location. Very unprofessional and unreliable...if they can't be trusted with a simple inspection would not trust them with much else. This is Veterans Road location...been to Forest avenue and they are reliable read more

I wish I can give zero star ,I would gladly do that, please stay away from prep boys ,they are rippers amd scammers and that a shame ,I went to get my break fixed and they charged me 1650 ,after bargaining they brought it down to 1154 ,I did it and left, after two weeks I went to mavin autos to enquiry about the breaks just to know if prep boys ripped me off and yes I was ripped of ,mavin said to fix my break would cost me just 700 dollars, I felt really bad and I considered prep boys to be nothing but thieves taking advantage of innocent hard working people. read more

This place is nothing but a rip off. Ridiculous fees to change a headlight & confirmed by the on site mechanic named Matt. Insisted bumper had to come off for my make & model when owners manual & you tube state it does not. Plus 46 for an oil change... assumed I wanted synthetic. Now it's Sunday afternoon & I'm stuck driving with no headlight for another week ..... been coming here for years but enough of the robbery read more

Bottom line is they don't like to work in this place. Any excuse to get out of work they come up with. Corporate needs to clean house here. They close whenever they want to stop working. read more

broke down on the highway. I was able to get towed to this Pep Boys. I called ahead and Ash assured me he would be able to fix my car so that I can get home to Long Island the same day even though they were closing soon. I can't thank Ash and his team of mechanics enough. They took such great care of us. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend!! read more

Two days in a row I made an appointment for 10 to have tires balanced and for two days I have been pushed away with a bs excuse. Horrible customer service and communication! read more

Took my 2020 Mercedes GLE in for a routine inspection this past Saturday. They told me the inspection failed because it needed break pads. Wasn't going to have it done there. I'd feel much more comfortable bringing it to the dealership where it was purchased. When they returned my car to me it was missing the inspection sticker. They just removed it without consulting, or telling me. This was unnecessary of them to do. Horrible people. Will never go here again nether the less recommended anyone to these people. read more

Manager was cool, calm, and collective. Came in because I had a flat and handled a routine tire change with calmness and ease despite people rushing in at the same moment. Can't give this place 5 stars because its basically just a service Pep Boys. You won't find all the cool accessories and essentials in this place as in other shops. read more

They broke a part on my car during routine maintenance. Instead of rectifying the issue, they told me they can fix it for an outrageous price. I had this issue fixed by another place for half the quoted price. The other place said the part does not break on its own. It breaks from careless handling. read more

I was the first customer in (they had to unlock the door to the office) and got an oil change and tire rotation. They took over an hour to get this done, after bumping me to take care of another customer who was returning because his vehicle was leaking oil after one of their oil changes. The only reason I came in was because they're open earlier than any other place in the area, and I was desperate for an oil change. Next time I need an oil change, I'll just plan on going in to work late, and go to a locally owned garage instead. read more

I went there to get an oil change and rotate my tires . I left there and realized that the one rim that had a scratch in it was never rotated. " listen up they never rotated my tires and I paid for the service Not Good " Do nut trust them there is no integrity here read more

Incompetent, reckless, what more can describe this place and its employees. Avoid this place if humanly possible. Why they have you make appointments yet you still wait for hours is beyond belief. Ever since the tall African guy left the place is a Joke. Workers are nasty and the front desk help shouldn't even be called help Not a pleasant experience my last 3 visits and will be taking my fleet business elsewhere. Plenty of mom and pop garages in area that are good and would appreciate the business. read more

Great service!! I went there with a shredded tire and they fixed it quickly!! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable!! They took very good care of me. The price was also very reasonable! I was very happy with the service and plan on going there from now on with all my car needs!! read more

Terrible place. Brought in my car for a simple tire change and left with it making a consistent screeching noise. The car made 0 noise before bringing it to them and after, it was so loud you can hear it even with the windows up and everything. Brought it to them the next day and they told it was something else and said they would charge me to fix it. I told them the noise only started after they changed my tires and the guy called it a "freak coincidence". Not a freak coincidence like they say. Do yourself a favor and take your car to a mechanic or shop that actually knows what it's doing. If I could give it lower than 1 star, trust me I would. Do not recommend. Don't bring your car here. It's no "freak coincidence" that my car only made noise after they handled it, and it's no "freak coincidence" they have terrible reviews. read more

Currently at Pep Boys to get my brand new car inspected. And the worker walks up to us smoking a cigarette. I ask him not to smoke in my car. He says something inaudible as he is speaking with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. I hate the smell of cigarettes and now I have this man who works for Pep Boys who is smoking on the clock and now his clothing will smell up my vehicle. So unprofessional, on top of that I have bad allergies and seasonal asthma. read more
