Recently had another flat tire. Drove to A&J. Was helped immediately. Vincente helped me,as he did last time. He took time to show exactly what the problem was. Fixed it,also checked the air pressure in the spare and filled that one to proper pressure. As I was leaving,backing out from a tight spot another gentleman guided me out onto my lane. Needed some air in 1 tire , also wanted to price out 4 new rims for car . Guys sitting in office tells me a few minutes, talk about rims he says they sell them but doesn't bother showing me them or pricing them out . Not sure what's stuck up the entitled white guy who runs the office. He seemed pretty normal on the phone. When i got there he came off like a dick who doesnt give a f%#$. Needed some tires ASAP. I spent $200 on two tires and within a month the inner sidewall cracked, popped open, and I was left with a flat. I didn't hit anything, nothing hit me. I just drove straight and out of nowhere, the tire pops. I called up and was given the same yadda yadda about their one week guarantee. I understand that from one perspective, but a tire that's essentially new, inflated by the shop, shouldn't have its sidewall blow out within a month. That's just bad business. The service is fast and they will pick a used tire in good condition to put on your car instead of getting ripped off at the dealership. I expected to see a much higher rating for this place. I've been coming here the past 6 years and would recommend it to anyone. In fact I know a bunch of people who always use a&j. Now, you have to know what they're good for. If you need to repair a tire, or are looking to buy a good used tire, this is your place. I get used run-flat tires which always need to be replaced after New York winters. As for the owner that a few people have commented on, I don't think I've ever dealt with him. The staff (who work very hard) have always been fine to deal with. They're open 7 days a week! That's big. $15 to repair a tire, $45 for a used tire, $60 for a used run-flat. I made the mistake of going here twice in the past 3 years. The first time was for a new tire pressure sensor. They identified which one was broken and changed it for over $100. When the light remained on they told me to drive the car for a bit and it'll go off. When it still remained on I went back and they said it's a different one that's broken! Really?? Why didn't you tell me only one was broken the first time??? Recently I went there for a flat. They told me I have two nails in it and patched it. The next day it was flat again! I went to a diff tire place and they showed me a hole on the side and that the tire couldn't be replaced!! So either this place has no idea what they're doing or they're totally dishonest. If i could give this tire place negative stars i would. The owner of this shop speaks to people like assholes. I have gotten one tire from them several months ago and experience was okay. Seeing as it is pretty hard to find the tire that I need for my car, I went back there the other day after blowing another one. The owner told me that he had none of the tires that I needed in stock and he would order it for a couple of days from then. He insisted on giving me a loaner Tire which was similar to the one I needed. After I told him several times that I'd rather not because I don't want to be responsible for it and that i had another car for the interm, he insisted that I take it and made me feel like a moron for not wanting it. So I took it and paid for the tire that was ordered. I went straight home from the tire shop with the loaner and parkd my car in my garage which was maybe 3 miles away from the shop. The next morning when I was leaving for work I noticed that that tire was now flat and the car was sitting on the rim. I threw the donut on and took my other car to work. I immediately called the tire shop when they opened and spoke to the owners son. The son told me not to worry about it and theyll take care of me when i come in. From prior experience of seeing how the owner interacts with people, I was not looking forward to this trip. When I got there several days later to exchange the tire, the owner told me that the flat was my fault and he would have to charge me for it along with the new tire. I told him that I was a prior customer and I planned on coming back to the shop for anything I needed in the future but he didnt care. I asked if it could have been in the realm of possibility that he gave me this used tire with an issue and he again said it was my fault and wouldnt budge. In the time that I was there, an older gentleman came in with his car and told the owner that the "specialty " tires that he insisted the Gentleman buy a few days prior were not intended for his car and he was gaving issues with them. The owner told him that he doesn't know how to drive and was the reason for the tire issues. This man was probably in his 60s and seem like a very nice person. He didn't put up a fight and gave in to the owner rather quickly. The owner talked to him like he was some stupid kid that didn't know anything and stepped right over him. After that two gentleman came in with a truck and we're complaining about tires that the shop had given them a few days ago. Once again the owner told them that they didn't know how to drive their car and it was their fault I may be wrong, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the one tire that they gave me as a loner and insisted that I take ended up being flat a few hours after I got home. I also don't think that it's a coincidence that while I was there the only two other customers had issues that the owner said it was their fault. This place is a rip-off and it's a scam. I will never go back here and I will never recommend this place to anybody and if anyone ever asks me about a tire shop I will speak nothing but bad about this shithole. The owner shouldn't be in a profession that allows him to deal and interact with people on a daily basis. He has no manners he's rude and I'm pretty sure that he purposely sabotages shit so he can make more money off of it later. Can I give 0 stars??? This place ripped me off! I went in expecting to get a new used tire. Instead I drive out with the same tire on my car. JUST REVERSED! The guy patched it on the inside. It cost me 70 dollars and obviously didn't hold for more than a couple days that's why I'm writing this review. I try to go back there and he says there is nothing he can do. That I have to buy another tire! WHAT!!?? I lost my mind. So I had to leave before things would've gotten out of control. This isn't the first time he has ripped someone off. I've used their services twice and have not been disappointed either time. My first time here, I had a nail stuck in my tire causing a small air leak. They were unable to seal the leak, but I was able to purchase a replacement used tire for $45. That was about a year ago and no issues with that tire since. About a week ago my low air alert went off. When I tried to put air in the tire at the gas station, it wasn't taking any air and was practically flat. I started to panic a little because I had somewhere to go, and made a pit stop at A&J in hopes of getting the issue resolved. It turns out that one of the massive pot holes I inevitably ran into at some point caused some significant damage to my rim. They were able to correct it using a blow torch to put it in the correct shape. $45 later and I was on my way in about 25 minutes with a full tire. The woman next to me had her flat sealed for $15. There were about half a dozen people in and out while I was there, all getting leaks sealed or replacement tires. For me, it sure beat having to go buy a new rim. read more

You would think you would get a " hey how are you" or some kind of greeting any business would give a long time customer.This guy also rips you off. They charge an extra $5 for 2".So you think it's $15 but that's for a 16" tire a 18" tire is $20. Went there and whoever helped me was very rude. Tried to tell me about my car that ive owned for 15 years, he was wrong about everything he said but wouldnt listen to me. Also i asked to see the tire before he put it on... 10 mins later i see the guy wheling it out with the tire on. The tire he put on had uneven wear, it ranged from id say 30% tred to mabey 60%, i said it wasnt good and he was like "Oh its a low profile tire its supposed to be like that" (its a 50 series on a 16" wheel... not that low profile) and he claimed it was 80% tread when it was almost as bad as the tire i came in with. Then after i complained he gave me a practically new tire that they happened to have. I got 2 tires that day, each for a different car, both tires i asked to see it before they put it on and both times he didnt. After the thing with the bald tire i look at my van and they put this huge beffy mud tire on... completely mismatched and also wasnt very good on tread.
