    I came into this store 10644 W Pico Blvd Unit 100, Los Angeles, CA 90064 to ask about a coupon that Pep Boys themselves are currently publishing. The employee told me they would not accept it because "it doesn't apply to California." When I questioned this, he became extremely rude, raised his voice, cursed at me, and told me, "If you don't want the service, take the f*ing car and go away from here." I walked out and called the Culver City Pep Boys, and they confirmed they would accept the coupon with no issue. Clearly, this store has serious problems with communication, professionalism, and basic respect for customers. This was an unacceptable experience -- both in terms of customer service and human decency. I will not be returning to this location.

    I got tires here. I'm giving a 2 star because of price, and it was significantly less than Midas ($300 less). In fact, the tires cost the same as Amazon and included installation. That said, I made a purchase and reserved an appointment online. When I got there, they said they didn't have the tires I bought, but that they could sell me different tires (they're obviously told to/incentivized for Cooper brand tires, as what was pushed). I was firm in that I'd just leave, but they then said they could get the tires from somewhere else. They did and it would be 2-3 hours. 4 hours later they called that it was ready. It was near closing time and they gave me the key. I went to my car and the inside was a disaster. Most like someone went through it looking to steal something, but nothing was stolen. They had gone looking for the tire lock and emptied everything in the car, but hadn't put anything back. The biggest issue was the brand new tires were filthy. To the point I thought maybe I'd been swindled and they sourced used tires. I looked and they were recently manufactured, so that wasn't an issue. The issue was that they must have spilled the goo they use to put the tires on all over the outside and bottom of the tires. Taking to the car wash did nothing. I had to go buy goo gone to make them reasonably clean. The tires were also inflated all over the place. Some over inflated and some severely under inflated. Again, maybe go for the prices to just get something done, but ultimately the level of care is nearly zero.

    The worst service I've ever received! Employees with a terrible attitude. When you shop with them, everything is fine, but when you ask for guarantees on their products, they do everything possible to avoid keeping their word as a company! ... ... ... ...

    I went to the Pep Boys in Santa Monica to get my car battery replaced. They gave me two options: $175 for the basic battery, or $280 for a higher-end one. I chose the $280 battery, which came to $365 with installation. However, they couldn't install it because their device for Mercedes wasn't working. They told me to go to the Pep Boys on Pico and Overland. When I got there, Anthony quoted me $518 for the same service! When I asked why the price was so much higher, he said it was because they didn't have the device. But that didn't make sense, since the price I was quoted in Santa Monica was for installation with the device. I feel like they were trying to take advantage of me. I'm very disappointed with my experience with Anthony at this Pep Boys location.

    GO TO 10 MIN TIRE ON PICO AND Meadowbrook! DO NOT BRING this location #614 YOUR BUSINESS ! I BOUGHT 4 brand new tires from them 3 months ago. I thought I had a warranty which I didn't not have road hazard ok cool let's patch it. They looked and immediately said the tire is irreparable. What?! They immediately have an attitude off the bat. The Manager Anthony lets his employees speak to people which ever way and I'm not the one. If you ask a question about a screw in the tire they ask you if you're a TIRE EXPERT and tells you he went to school for that, all for a damn patch dude... If you went to school for tires you wasted your money hunny! I drove back toward Mid city and tire fixed within 20 min dash light off and on my way. Screw that Pep Boys! You need better techs

    2300 they tried to charge for a catalytic converter that was not broken and did not need repairs

    SCAMMING sh*t location. tried to charge over 5k for an issue that another place charged 190 for, because they just made up a bunch of things that were wrong hoping id just say "okay, here take all my money." So glad i left and went somewhere else where i got to actually go and see for myself that my catalytic converter nor exhaust were cracked, i just needed a few tightened bolts and things around the muffler. screw you and your sexist fraud management. and!! drained my battery in the process just to try to up-charge on that and convince me i needed a new one too because it was dead. Yeah, it was dead because you drained it, not because it's broken. Terrible experience, do not go or give them any of your money, especially as a woman. have fun with your law suits

Never again. Switching to this Valvoline was the BEST CHOICE. 6 reasons (sorry for the long review): 1. This one has a GROUPON. It is extremely affordable and the guys don't give you any shade for showing up with the groupon. Indeed, my rep DANIEL (thank you emoji) even helped me get on the wifi because it wasn't downloading. He showed me how to redeem it. Regarding the groupon. Be aware of what oil you need and be careful about which Valvoline's accept the groupon. The Synthetic is not much more than the standard on groupon (and synthetic oil is actually much more than standard in general). Daniel helped me understand and I confirmed it with my mechanic brother who lives in another state and he said Daniel was telling me truth. 2. I had literally duct taped a part of my undercarriage because it was dragging (thanks mechanic brother who told me what it was) so I was convinced that during the oil change the reps would tell me "oh you have to pay more for us to get past your do-it-yourself issue." Instead, I told them about it and they were like "no problem" and worked around it! They even explained to me what the loose panel was and were like, "it's working, no salt or snow in CA, no off-roading for you." Again, brother on text said, "Daniel doing right by you" 3. The did try to up-sell me but in the most procedural and respectful way. They are required to offer other services but they roll through it and give you no judgment when you decline. 4. I actually tried to give Daniel and his manager Jose a tip and they REFUSED it. Then I tried to offer to buy them a coffee and again refused me. They said that it was a pleasure to help me. WHAT??? Seriously wow. 5. This Valvoline shows you everything. They show you the oil they are using, they show you your dipstick after it's filled, they explain the filter and what they did, and the price is transparent and right in front of your face on the computer. Further there is a camera on the bay that proves what they have done and thus, there is a degree of protection on both ends. 6. DANIEL and supervisor JOSE were the most respectful, kind, patient, and explanatory people I have ever met. I felt very comfortable and felt the entire process was FAIR and within my price range. THEY ARE THE BEST. Ask for them. Thank you to both. My first time there and I have already told 3 people about this location. I will never go anywhere else.

Then, while they were opening my air filter housing to replace the air filter, they busted it.( check the pictures. ). Then at the very same time they yanked on the air manifold hose that's connected to it so hard that it ripped open! At first, they lied right to my face and said that they did not do it and that they never even opened my air filter housing even though I paid them to change the air filter. So I called corporate in front of the manager at the Valvoline and told them that I had paid for an oil change and an air filter change, and this manager just told me that they never even opened up my air filter housing to change it but they took my money anyway. Once I had corporate on the phone, the manager at Valvoline admitted that they had damaged both components of the air filter-housing, and the hose. Corporate said all that they could do is refund the $50 for the air filter and then offered me two free oil changes. But I'm still left with having to repair the $800 worth of damage that they caused. I'll never go to another Valvoline again.EVER!!!! - TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. I brought my car in for a tire rotation, oil change, transmission fluid service, and coolant flush. I dropped it off at 10 AM. A few hours later, I got a call saying I needed two rear tires replaced... one worn and one with a nail that was "unrepairable." There was no proof provided, and I agreed over the phone. I was charged $577 for tires and $524 for brakes. The pricing already felt questionable, especially after reading similar experiences from others regarding this shop. They also recommended for me to replace my cabin and engine air filters because they were dirty. This is IMPOSSIBLE, because I had personally replaced both just TWO DAYS prior. That immediately made me question everything else they recommended. At that point, it became clear they were either not checking anything or just trying to upsell blindly. I called later to confirm pickup and was told 6:00-6:15 PM, even though their posted closing time is 6 PM. I arrived right at 6, only to see my car just being put on the lift. After already waiting 8 hours, I had to wait another 50 minutes, making me late to my plans. That same night, I noticed fluid leaking from my car. I placed a paper towel underneath overnight and confirmed it was transmission fluid. Not only that, the fluid didn't even look fresh and was more brown than red. The steering wheel was also pulling to the right, making the car feel unsafe. I had to return the next morning for them to fix these issues, issues that should never have happened in the first place. After this, I inspected the car myself and found even more problems (photos included) * Multiple plastic retainers under the hood were broken or missing, leaving engine covers unsecured * The coolant reservoir was nearly empty, despite paying $168 for a coolant service * The driver-side wheel well liner had been left detached, causing it to drag and get damaged while driving At this point, it's hard not to feel like this place is careless at best, or dishonest at worst. I paid around $1,800 and ended up with new problems, missing parts, and had to spend additional time and money fixing their mistakes. To their credit, the front desk staff was friendly. But good customer service at the counter doesn't make up for poor workmanship and questionable practices in the shop. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

I paid $130 for what was supposed to be a full diagnostic.. a thorough report of issues found after inspection. Instead, I got a single vague paragraph on paper (quote 1) summarizing $2,000+ in repairs with no itemized breakdown. I asked for photos, and they showed me pictures of my engine filters (note you have to get pass air ducts for this). Later that day I requested an itemized quote and suddenly the total dropped by nearly $1,000. Some of the issues just disappeared from the quote. That was my first red flag. How does a "diagnosis" of the same car change that drastically within hours? What did I pay $130 for if not an accurate inspection and record of the car's condition? I decided to check things myself. I ordered my own cabin, engine, and oil filters online for around $35 total (they quoted $180). I replaced the cabin filter in five minutes. Then I went to replace the engine air filter and immediately saw two large tears in both air intake ducts ... the hoses that deliver air into the engine (pre-filter at least). But both were completely ripped. This was never mentioned in either diagnostic, quote 1 or 2 despite being obvious... I paid $130 for them to "inspect" my car, and they missed something anyone could see under the hood? That's not just sloppy... it's negligent. And since accessing the engine filter requires moving those ducts, they had to have seen it. So, recap: I paid $130 for a diagnostic that missed two gaping holes in the air intake ducts something front and center. If I hadn't checked, I'd still be driving with this glaring issue. It's hard not to wonder if I was brushed off because I'm a woman. Im not the type to take someone's word without checking. This felt either lazy or deliberately dishonest. Fast forward to October 11, I came back for what I assumed would be a simple oil change. I'd already paid $130 for the lacking diagnostic, I believe I was informed with my initial quote that would go towards other services. Nope. They charged another $160. But I didn't have the energy to argue and I was planning to bring up the ducts. No one mentioned them... not even when I asked if there were any other issues. So I walked outside opened the hood pointed at the ripped hose and asked "What's this, and why wasn't it in my diagnostic?" The man looks me dead in the eye and says, "Oh, that's not really a big deal... most people don't fix that." Excuse me? I paid for a diagnosis and someone decided this shouldn't be included. Make it make sense. After pressing, he admits it should be replaced... something I already knew since I'd ordered both ducts for $30 online. Then he gives me a verbal quote of $55. I ask him to print it (because I'm not doing he said she said). He writes it up adding "no labor charge" like he's doing me a favor. I already had both parts sitting in my car. When I got home, I realized the quote was for one side the one I'd pointed at. Both were torn. At this point, I've lost all trust in this location. They're not transparent, not thorough, and the way they handled my situation was insulting. I hoped I could trust them with my car, but instead I learned a hard lesson. I'll now personally verify every service I pay for. If you rely on shops for maintenance.. open your hood. Watch a few videos. Understand what's being done before paying the "convenience" premium. Many of these fixes are simple and inexpensive. TL;DR: - Paid $130 for a "diagnostic" that missed two huge air duct tears. - Received inconsistent quotes -- price dropped $1,000 after asking for details. - No transparency or accountability. - Dismissive attitude when confronted. - Trust broken.
