They always do a good job, their prices are definitely better than other places and most of all, their mechanics are very trustworthy and willing to help without making the customer spend unnecessary money. I took my car to this location to have one of my tires checked for a slow leak. I was going to take the car to the dealership but the next available appointment was in two weeks! I booked an appointment with Pep Boys for the following morning and was in and out in under 45 minutes, despite the waiting room being full of customers waiting on their repairs. The mechanic who worked on my car, Ken, found and sealed the leak, adjusted the tire pressure on all four tires up to the manufacturer specifications, then came out into the waiting room to go over the repair and discuss what he did. Outstanding customer service! The service manager, Ahmed, was polite and efficient. I felt the $25 charge was very reasonable. Thank you, Pep Boys! read more

DO NOT COME HERE This place needs to be shut down immediately. First, I book an appointment on January 15, 2026, at 6PM, when I get there, they tell me that the guy that does the inspection already left. Which makes no sense since they close at 7, so I book another appointment for the next day at 1PM. Worst mistake ever, I get there on time and it takes about 2hrs for them to finally start "Inspecting" my car after telling me it will only take a 1 hour. Then another 1 or 2hrs goes by so I go up to the front and ask "what's taking so long. He goes and checks and he says "20mins" but of course it didn't take 20mins. Then I was told my inspection failed and surprise surprise they tried to over charge me. I left the building at 5:30PM just for my inspection to fail, I might as well have picked up a shift there with how rude and unorganized with the little staff they have. This location completely ripped me off. I dropped my truck off to fix some issues and an inspection. Over the phone, the guy was nice and gave me a total estimate which was more than I expected, but he told me that since I needed all this work done he'd give me the inspection no charge. Then later that day, I get a call saying they won't have all the parts they needed to do the work that day so they needed to keep my truck overnight. I didn't think anything of it until I picked it up the next day AND THEY CHARGED ME AN EXTRA OVERNIGHT AND LABOR FEE. I told them that it was not my fault that it had to stay overnight and get an extra days work, and that I was NOT TOLD I would be charged extra. They did not care. AND they tried to charge me for my inspection. It wasn't until I made it a big deal that they took the inspection charge off, which they said they were going to originally. I had an oil change. Upon leaving, the oil light flashed but did stay on. Now, 2 months later the light has gone on again. Flashing, on occasional stopping and turning. When I checked the oil, there was no oil on the dip stick. Bone dry. No leaks on the ground and a dry engine. I don't know a lot about cars. But, I do know that it is possible for someone to make a mistake and not put the proper amount in when they are working on 3 oil changes at one time. My advise is to check your oil right after you get it changed here. And if it is less than full. Don't go back!!! When I called they said that it is probably burning internally in the engine itself. Two weeks later I had a flat on a running flat tire and knew that my front tires were almost bald with no tread and posed a threat to future driving. With that said I purchased two new front tires and waited patiently for the work to be completed on a Friday evening. I come in and Ben at the desk talked me into getting the wheels aligned for another $100. I said sure not believing the headache it would give me. The new tires are put on and when I get on the road my steering is all messed up and the car is pulling to the right. I go right back and explain the problem and he's like I'll go check. Not sorry for in the inconvenience. Then I see them take the car out for 10 mins, pull it in front of an empty bay and there is sits for another hour and a half. Got scammed by Pepboys of Lindenhurst via Tirerack. They quote one price on tirerack then bait-n-switch charge you $37 more to install. Working on getting them kicked off tirerack for being scumbags. I have contacted Consumer Affairs to report this location. Ali, the "manager", gaslighted us into thinking we did something wrong at the checkout process but it clearly states that Pepboys collects the installation fee at time of service. We did exactly what we were supposed to do. Also, the TPMS system was not reset properly (OR they stole the TPMS system off the car) so the tire alert never turns off after having them change the tires. Had a flat so I stopped by to have them take a look. Mickey the So called supervisor who has zero customer service skills as well as grooming skills asked me my model car. He said oh that car requires ready flat tires you have to go somewhere else. I responded I already had a tire repaired at this location they ordered the tire. I said fine I will just go to the dealership who has it in stock. He laughed at me and said no you have a nail in your tire what would you expect us to do pay for your tire? How would we make money? The unexpected piece of garbage response was shocking but after looking at Mickey kind of expected. I said can you atleast check the tire to make sure it's a flat and not a faulty sensor. He refused and said it's a flat if it's a ready flat tire. I returned home and found my receipt for the tire I purchased from pep boys. It says specifically that my tire is covered from nails glass etc. so I returned to the store to show Mickey the receipt and warranty information. He refused to even look at it and repeated how would we make any money? As if I have any concern about pep Boys profit margins. I asked to speak to a manager, he said he was the manager which is shocking. I said let me speak to who's above you and he responded it's weekend no one here. So I called up corporate expecting some level of competency. This was at 11:00 am Saturday. They escalated my call as I needed to find out where to bring my car by 2 since I had an appointment at the dealership. They escalated it again to have s immediate call back saying I was in the store. So 7:30 pm still no call back I call corporate again. I am apologized no one called me and promised someone will call me Saturday night that he is escalating my call even higher to a woman that he knows will call me back. Took my car there for them to replace the battery. They knowingly put a battery in the car that is too weak to power it. Drove two stop light away from the location and the car broke down. They try to tell me it's the alternator and have the nerve to try and charge $2000 to change it. Try to return the battery and they told me I can return the battery but I can't get a refund are you kidding me I didn't used the battery because the car broke down. They have so many things for your car that you can just walk around in a daze for an hour looking at all the gadgets and stuff that you didn't know existed. Poor customer service, but got the job done. Got a good deal on four new tires, and when I brought my Jeep in for installation I was shocked at the blatant disrespect to me. There was an issue with the valve cover, and instead of the employee explaining to me what was wrong and how to fix it, he angrily hands me a wrench and tells me to try to take the valve cover off. I was shocked but gave it a try, then he proceeds to tell me that I should never put on aftermarket valve covers. So after that, he then tells me that the other ones came off so instead of handing them to me, he throws them against the wall and tell him that he needed to calm down and pick them up so I can take them with me. I should have known better after getting a coupon in the mail to schedule an oil change here. Waited over an hour after my allotted time, not as much as someone coming near me to explain the wait - since it had been scheduled. Went to Pepboys on Sunrise highway in Lindenhurst on Saturday March 30th at around 7 PM to have my headlights installed. Was asked to come back Sunday morning and they could do it then. Cost was $20. I was ok with that. Arrived at Peoboys on Sunday March 31st at 10 am and was told it would be 10 minutes. I was fine with that. The service man called me and told me it would be $70 per side because my headlight assembly is a difficult removal. I left. I decided to Google how to do it and it turns out to be two tabs and one clip. Took me 10 minutes to do both headlights. I will never go back to Pepboys again. I felt like they were taking advantage of me. Would not recommend anyone to use them either. read more

I showed up as a walk in for a tire change and they told me it will "be hours" and then proceeded to help someone else before letting me even reply. I then leave and call to set up an appointment, the extension for the line for tires was not working. I waited to talk to a representative and asked to be transferred to the tire dept and I was told "sorry. They're too busy and can't help you at the moment. " and then they hung up. Dropped my truck off at 130pm because I had a 2pm appointment. At 530 I received a call from the store saying they couldn't find the lug lock key to change the tires. I asked why did they wait 3 hours to contact me to let me know and I was told the store was to busy. I went to the store and brought the key so they can work on the truck. It was late in the day so I left the truck overnight so they could work on it in the morning. The next day I had not heard from the store that the work on my truck was completed and to come by and pick it up. I was getting nervous at around 3pm that day that because I hadn't heard from anyone so I called the store. I called over and over for an hour and nobody was picking up the phone. Finally someone answered so explained the situation and they put me on hold because they didn't work in the service department and had to check on status. I was left on hold for 20 minutes and when someone finally picked up I was told they never worked on my truck. They forgot about it and blamed it on the service manager from the night before. Now I'm pissed. I had a surprise birthday party in queens I had to be at by 645pm that I had to miss. I was within my truck for almost two days for simple tire changes and alignment. I the back of my head I question the work was even done correctly and was it rushed because the store was now trying to make up for what was done to me. I came here a few months ago for new tires. When they pulled my car out of the garage they ran over a piece of metal and immediately got a flat. Not their fault. They patched it and told me to come back tomorrow for a new tire since they were out if stock for the ones on my car. I told them i would be there at noon. Confirmed with the manager that the tire would be there by noon. I arrived at 12:45 and no tire. I had to wait for it to arrive from another store. This made me late to work. I went there for tires for my son's truck. Was greeted by the service manager Peter. Great guy. Honest and sincere. I had reservations dealing with Pep Boys due the the horror stories such as you bring your car/truck for tires and then the sucker you into work that you do not need. But this wasn't the case. Peter has them check the truck from top to bottom and found that I needed a rear seat bar link which was broken. But they also advised me on what I was going to need to be replaced in the near future. Not many shops would do that. They would force you into doing it now. I would honestly say, I would not have a problem going back to Pep Boys. Again, Peter was a pleasure to deal with along with his crew. read more

Got my oil changed here as well as an inspection, which ended up in me having to get a new alternator belt and windshield blades. All of the service men in the back are so nice and informative, one even walked me to my car and did a double check under the hood, also threw in windshield fluid free of charge! The man at the cash out counter, although being very nice, wasn't very attentive and kept walking away and even eating pasta salad while helping me...which is kinda gross and weird. Took probably 3x as long to pay them as it should have and there were no customers ahead of me. However my car is fixed for a reasonable price ($190 for all that I mentioned) and I am happy. Tip: ALWAYS check the Pep-Boys website for coupons. They accept hard copies and digital ones off your phone. read more

The Three Day Inspection MY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH PEP BOYS AUTO SERVICE & REPAIR WEDNESDAY: 9/5/2018 2:45pm: Dropped off my Chevy Express for the following: * NYS Inspection * Oil Change * Tire Rotation & Wheel Alignment * Check Water Leaking into Passenger Side Cab, Due to clogged fan motor blade. 7:09pm: A Rep from the Service Desk calls me to indicate: * Only the Oil Change was done. * And, In order to pass inspection I need to replace ONE bald tire. He agreed that I would provide them with a spare-tire the following morning so they can replace it with the bald one. THURSDAY: 9/6/2018 8:30am: * I dropped off the spare tire to a mechanic in the back shop and told him it was for the Chevy Express Van sitting on the lift. 10:30am: A different Rep from Service Desk calls to say: "In order to pass inspection you need to replace: * TWO tires and my Front Left Headlight o I then told him that I had already spoken to a different Rep the day before who indicated that I only needed ONE tire replaced in order to pass inspection. But if I need a headlight, by all means, replace it. o This Rep also didn't know that I had dropped off a spare tire earlier that morning in order to remedy this issue. o He put me on hold and picked up a minute later to ask: "Do you mean the tire sitting here with a nail in it?" "No" I told him. He obviously had another customers tire mixed up with mine. o After a few more minutes on hold, he picked up indicating that found the tire and would now swap it out. * When I asked him if the clogged fan motor was cleaned out, he did not have an answer for me, but said he would re-forward that request to the mechanic. 2:30pm: * I ask my friend to bring me to Pep Boys, as we anticipate that the van work should soon be complete. o After an hour waiting in the store for a follow-up, a third, and different Rep at the Service Desk Indicates to me that: The service technician is in the back still trying to diagnose why the new headlight is still not working, and suggested that I go back home and they will call me once my van is ready for pick up. 5:07pm * I get a call from Pep Boys indicating that the van service is complete, and ready for pick-up. * After turning onto the highway leaving Pep Boys, I turn on the air-conditioner fan, and hear leaves and other debris blowing around inside the fan motor, so I do a U-Turn back to the Pep Boys service bays behind the store. * I asked the service technician there if he was aware of my issue with water leaking inside my passenger side cab, and if they blew out the fan motor that was clogged with debris? He replied that he was aware but that it wasn't done, and that he could not do it now because they were back up with other cars. * My reply to him was: o My van has been here for "TWO DAYS for what was essentially an Inspection. o This Fan Motor Clog issue was part of my work order request, and should have already been looked at. o My van should be a priority, as it was here well before these other cars that they are now currently working on. * After understanding my frustration, the service technician was kind enough to stop what he was doing in order to attempt to clean out the clogged fan motor. o Because the fan motor was on while it was blown it out, the motor suddenly over-heated causing smoke to billow out from the hood, and engulfing the interior of the van with smoke and a strong toxic odor. o We quickly turned off the van. We opened up all the doors in order to let the motor cool down and allow the smoke and smell to escape the cabin. o I now went inside to speak to the "Acting Manager" (because there was no store manager on staff at this time), and explained what had just happened. He indicated to me that if damage was caused by a mechanic's negligence, it would be replace at no charge by Pep Boys, but that I would have to bring it back the following morning in order to get that done. FRIDAY: 9/7/2018 8:00am * I drop off my Van for Fan Motor service and/or Replacement 3:15pm * I get a call from yet another Rep at the service desk indicating that the Fan Motor needs to be replaced, but they are not paying for it because "I told the service technician to blow it out", and therefore it was not the fault of the service technician. * At this point I told the Rep that I would call Pep Boys Corporate office to discuss this matter with them. * He then replied that He would do the repair free of charge, but to "NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN FOR SERVICE". o Are You Kidding Me??? .... LOL P.S.: After returning home I noticed that a tire was low on air pressure, so I went to Auto Zone and purchased a pressure gage to test. All four tires had a different reading ranging from 27lbs. to 55lbs. (The recommended air pressure for those tires is indicated as a maximum of 44lbs. These Guys Are The Worst! read more

This location is absolutely AWFUL. Go to the location on Montauk Highway where you will be treated respectfully and professionally. No one ever picks up the phone, and if/when they do, they are abrupt, rude and just transfer you over to another department who don't even pick up the call! I called to confirm delivery of tires and was told they weren't there after 10 seconds of checking. Meanwhile I received an email confirmation with a time stamp and name of the person who received them. Had to call back 3 more times to actually talk to a human being who checked.
