DO NOT COME HERE!!! A couple months prior, I had came for an oil change and was offered to have my cabin air filter replaced since my current one was too dirty according to one of the mechanics. Two days ago, I had my inspection done and they had found that the cabin air filter was sloppily installed and was smushed into place. I have attached a picture of what it looked like. So that same day, i returned to have my oil changed and confronted one of the mechanics there and explained the situation. I asked that they replace the air filter because of what happened and the mechanic said it was no problem. Seems great. After they had performed the service, it came to billing. The mechanic said, "Alright, it will be so and so for the oil change and $40 for the filter." I said, "No! This was done incorrectly previously and theres no way you're charging me for this right now Etc." The mechanic replied, "Haha, I was joking! Just wanted to see the look on your face." Oh hahahhahaa so you're lying to me and doing your best to be a cheap scumbag trying to reap the most money possible out of me. Nice! He ended up not charging me but he 100% had the intention to. I cant believe this guy still attempted charging me after I had already expressed how frustrated I was with their previous service. been going here about 6 Years...This WAS a good oil change place. until they started the BS upselling. I bring 4 different vehicles here. They tried to tell me I needed various fluids and a cabin filter. the vehicle had the engine, radiator and transmission replaced by MotorWorks and I brought it in for the first oil change. they proceeded to tell me that all the other brand new fluids looked bad and needed change. Not very nice people. I have been coming here for years and the last time I was here they actually put my cabin filter back in backwards, after trying to get me to replace it. It was new. This time I said no filters, and they made fun of me , wanted to know if they should check the air freshener. When I walked away. There are too many local businesses that are happy to have the work. Here is a funny thing, I CHANGED the power steering fluid the week before at only becuase its on top of my car, with my bad back I cant crawl under the car and change the oil anymore, so I brought it here. This guy acting like he cares told me I was ruining my car, and I need to flush the motor, change the power steering fluid and a half dozen other things I KNOW my car doesnt need because I DO THEM, EXCEPT THE OIL AND THE LUBE. Then the guy says to me, well if your car breaks down, its on him!!! And he doesnt want to be held accountable, so I should follow his advice. I have been going to this place since it opened in the 80's and have always been treated well however, over the past few years I have noticed a lax preoccupied staff. When Covid hit this place closed leaving me to perform my own oil changes ( four cars in our household) so after they reopened I continued to perform the oil changes on two of our cars but still brought my wife's lease and my daughters car there. I was on a first name basis with most of the staff and the owner/manager and like I said was always treated well and hardly ever given the " sales pitch" for unwanted or unneeded services and I always tipped the attendant. Well today I was out of town and sent my daughter there to have her oil changed and she was sold services she didn't need to say the least. I did call the manager or someone who said they were a manager and he had the nerve to try and defend this shameful behavior. Needless to say I will not stand for that treatment of my daughter or anyone else who places there trust in a business to provide honest service. The few dollars they managed to pry away from a young trusting woman cost them a regular customer of nearly 35 years. read more

I've been getting my oil changes here for over 10yrs on my car and my wife's car. The last 2 times I had to take the car back because the oil plug was loose, but it was never noted on the comments they have on the receipt. Now I go there on 11/30/20 for an oil change and they told me I need an oil flush. I told them the last time I was here it was done. They said it was done a year ago. Due to COVID, and them being closed I had no way to take it to my regular mechanic. My regular mechanic had told me that my oil pan is leaking and to bring it back to whoever normally does it. Which I did. The guy comes back to me and then tells me my oil plug is stripped and my oil pan is damaged. Its a little weird when this is where I go to get my oil changes all the time.. Than they put down on my receipt in the comments section damaged oil pan on arrival and that they are not responsible for any further damages. I am wondering why the 2 times when I had a problem with the oil plug not being on there tight it wasn't noted in the comments. Now my oil pan is messed up. Now they definitely lost my business we will not be going back. No customer loyalty. Buyer beware! read more

This place is by far the worst. I went in for an oil change and the guy told me i had a transmission leak and a bunch more things wrong with the car. He said if i didn't fix it right then and there the car wasn't going to be able to be driven. i said ok no problem, trusting in his words and that he was being honest. I then call my car dealership because i thought it was weird there was no transmission light on or any leaking, so i brought it there to be sure everything was ok and they told me the car was absolutely fine and there shouldn't of been any other work done but an oil change and there was no transmission leak at all!!!!! The guy there took complete advantage of me being a young girl and just wanted to make commission off me. I called the owner Mike and nicely explained to him what happened and he was so nasty and miserable, as a business owner he had terrible customer service. i do NOT recommend this place for anything. read more

They deserved a zero...Left bolts loose in transmission pan and never replaced transmission filter. Transmission began acting different right away. Next day I brought the car to a reputable mechanic shop, they removed the pan in front of me, 4 bolts missing & the rest hand tightened. The transmission filter was old & cracked & was an OEM Ford filter not the brand they would've used. When asked for a refund and attempted to show them photo proof, they got nasty & told me to leave. I took my car in for a routine oil change $37.99 and radiator flush $69.99 the following day I noticed spots under my vehicle a few days later I bring it back and they tell me I need a new water pump and radiator hose. I'm a woman and I'm not knowledgable at all on cars so I can't say for sure it was them but what are the odds I bring my car in and now it's leaking. Stick a fork in this place they're done. Been doing business with them since about 2004. Always liked the friendly atmosphere. Many of those have left and it's a new crop of employees. Apparently the manager/owner is not on premise anymore, the inmates are running the asylum. They're incompetent, lazy and rude. Of course they didn't do all that they are billing you for and I watched as another customer complained about the same thing. When I asked about the same thing on my vehicle a fat employee got very aggressive, I wasn't worried, he's fat. If this was an isolated incident I would let it go but it's not. The incompetence and hostile attitude has become the norm. It's just an oil change, it's not rocket science. I chose this place because I like to support local businesses. Pro Lube is owned by an honest, friendly, and informative guy who is a true car enthusiast. He has a knowledgeable staff and has very good prices on all services, maintenance, and/or installs. I would highly recommend Pro Lube to anyone, whether they live in the area, or are just passing through. They are an asset to the community and I have experience there with three separate cars. Both of mine, and I even brought my moms car there from 26 miles away. Her mechanic was saying she needed an oil change, transmission fluid flush, brake fluid, and power steering fluid. I brought the car to Pro Lube to get an honest opinion by people I REALLY trust, and guess what?!? The car didn't even need an oil change, but I told them to do one anyway. It didn't need any of the tranny fluid, brake fluid, or power steering fluid. It did, however need an engine filter and an in cabin air filter. Thankfully the mechanic at Pro Lube looking at the car checked out everything and pointed out that the two filters hadn't been changed in a VERY long time. I gladly paid them for the oil change and two filters... and couldn't thank them enough for checking out the car and telling me that it honestly didn't need anything that my mom's mechanic was saying. This place is AWFUL. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never left a review on yelp before, but because of the damage this place could have caused, I felt I had to. I brought my car there a simple oil change and the guy didn't screw the cap on! Luckily my father noticed my car was leaking tons of oil before I headed back home to NJ with my 6 month old baby in the car...There were 4 men sitting around doing nothing, and they couldn't put the cap back on? It wasn't even busy. I honestly don't know how they're in business. I told one of my friends about this and apparently they one time left the bottle of oil in her car. Couldn't wait to get home to snack on one certain item I craved as I put into the car. then went straight to pro lube. went inside while they did oil change and vacuumed my car. the vacuum must have sucked it up. mysteriously it was gone. my word against theirs. though I love the service, won't go back there again over a bag of snacks. shame! read more

If possible I would give NO stars!!! I have used Pro Lube in West Babylon for over 7 years and never will again!!! About 2.5 months after my last oil change I noticed oil underneath my car. I took my car to the mechanic I have used for about 12 years and explained the problem. He put the car up on the lift and told me..." Your car just needed an oil change and the drain plug on the oil pan was very loose and all I did was tighten it "!!! My mechanic said he has had other customers with similar issues with Pro Lube in West Babylon. My mechanic only charged $35.00 for the oil change and told me from now on bring the car to him and he would change the oil. I spoke to the manager of Pro Lube and he said...." Your the first person that has ever had a loose drain plug but I will give you a free oil change when needed ". I told him if you gave me free oil changes for life I would never bring my car back to Pro Lube! I was pleasant but the manager hung up on me. I told two of my neighbors and both will no longer bring their cars to Pro Lube. This is my first poor review I have ever written about any business!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!! read more
