Mark and his team have always been honest and stand behind their work! I have had times where they couldn't find/fix an issue at hand in the day that I left my car. In one instance they then did research on the issue, and I took the car back (I could only leave it for a day). With the issue still not resolved they did additional research and wrote up a quote for what they believe is causing the issue. They didn't charge me for the first two visits when they could have easily charged for diagnostic/labor time, but they want to get the job done correctly. I've been going to Mark since around 2006. He was always good and had the best prices around. Recently he performed some warranty work on my wife's 2012 Sienna van. The steering column had to be replaced. We had been camping all summer and had been putting it off. One week we were home due to my cancer treatments so my wife scheduled the repair to be done. We had it done along with the TPS, also under warranty. We put the van in the carport and went back out camping for the rest of the summer. When we got back from camping in early fall I went to use the van and had noticed that the steering wheel was about five or ten degrees off center. My wife took it back to him and he said that they assemble it correctly and that it needa an alignment to fix the problem. How could it be fine previous to the repair and then need an alignment after the repair? Why would you not tell me when I picked up the van that it needs an alignment? Anyway, we're looking for another repai shop. read more

I was recommended to come here by a friend. Long story short, they held onto my car for almost a week (dropped it off June 30th - picked up July 5th.) They were very accommodating at first and took in my car same day at 8 AM. They had it in the shop for almost four full days and still couldn't figure it out. I had to keep calling for updates and every time it was a glossed over "we still don't know but we're looking into it" and when I said I would come to pick it up, they said I can't since it "isn't drivable." I brought it somewhere else and it was figured out and fixed less than three hours. The front stabilizer links needed to be replaced... I am not sure what went wrong here. I was hoping this place would've been my go-to but after this experience I won't be returning. read more

Last time let me drive away with a noise that literally sounded like the tire was going to fall off and being told "there's a little noise it's nothing to worry about" after paying almost $700 . read more

The work was completed in less than one business day, with my truck now running beautifully. The owner, Mark, introduced himself to me when I picked the truck up. I have brought my car here for maintenance a few times, Freddy up front is always very nice and willing to help! Always very pleased with the work, and they always accommodate me when I need something. I called one day in emergency when my side mirror came off in a parking garage. When I called, Mark the owner offered to personally look at it right away. When I got there he was so nice. He put it back on and buffed out the scratches. He took time out of his busy day to help me and wouldn't take any payment. What a wonder person and business owner! I dont like car mechanics. As my job is also a Mechanic but for boats I know how shady most( 6 out of 10) can be. I went to mark who at the time just opend up after I visited Automotive Tech down the road. Tech told me I needed a new transmission...The tranny was rebuilt a year or so ago so I assumed it was bullshit. Mark told me I didnt need a tranny just a new wiring. It cost me just a 100 bucks versus 2500. Ever since I trust no one else. He does great work for good prices. Just dont expect your car back too soon. He now caters too the entire town of west islip. read more

If you go to Mark's Auto Repair you are going to a shop that is owned and ran by one of the most honest, nice, and all around good guys I have ever met. I have been taking my vehicles to Mark for the past 18 years. Since I got my first car at 16 years old til right now, I'm quite literally bringing my VW there this week to have work done. My parents have been taking their vehicles to Mark even longer. The work, whether it's repairs or having mods done to your vehicle are always done with care. Mark treats other people's vehicles like they are his own and has always made sure the people working for him do the same. By the way Rob and Fred, two of the guys who work with Mark are also great at what they do and always really good to customers also. All around it's a place where you can bring your vehicle and feel like it's in good hands. I can't tell you how many times I needed something fixed and Mark would always try to help me out as best he could with pricing on parts or giving me a break on random things that would've just tacked on money because he's a good guy and wants to do the right thing by the people who give him their business. If you take your car, truck, van anywhere else when you need work done you are going to the wrong place. I have no idea where I will bring my car and truck when Mark retires and I'm basically dreading that day for me and my family, but looking forward to it for him lol. When I moved from Wantagh to West Islip one of my biggest worries was who would be servicing my car in the future.
