I came to this location for a wheel alignment. Now you may want to clear your whole schedule or use your sick time or PTO if you're getting your car serviced here because you won't see that car till the end of day or next day..... I'm not sure how long it takes to do a wheel alignment but I dropped my car off at around 9am/10am..... the car got back to me around 2/3pm....... I'm not sure if it was other cars ahead of me or it takes hours on hours to do a wheel alignment. The women who worked the front desk was really sweet. If you got a car through Carvana and have a bridge crest warranty I suggest you let them know STRAIGHT UP! I had to reschedule my appointment because it was too late to take the warranty for the alignment due to the company being in a different state and they were closed at my original appointment time. I came the next day and that's when I didn't see my car until the next business day. Jk it took a really long time. I guess they did a good job because I didn't have any issues with the steering wheel turning. I came today to see about getting my breaks fixed and had an 8AM appointment, I get to the service desk and this this white guy, with crazy looking hair comes out and says can I help you? And I say I have an appointment and he asks me again?? And I was thinking we're like feet away from each other and you can't hear?! They supposedly were to do a break inspection, but I'm not even sure it was performed at all, I don't think they did anything....and he comes back to tell me, oh your car has 17K miles on it, and I think he used that as an excuse to get rid of me because more cars were coming.....and at the same time, I will be taking my car somewhere else to get a second opinion because I believed they lied! This same bozo idiot came out to see me drive off which I thought was strange and I felt like he knew he was wrong and just wanted to rub it in my face!! Then they made me wait over an hour just to tell me the only person who could do it was leaving for the day and I can't get it done until Wednesday. I'll start it with the fact that they have a super sweet, competent and bright receptionist. My experience started the night before, when they called to verify appointment and let me know tires were in stock. Brought the car in at 850 and it sat in the lot into 1025. Sitting and waiting in the waiting room, trying to be patient. They got it on the lift at 1025, removed one wheel and it's been shooting for now another 35 minutes as I write this, with no one tending to it. It's stunning what a difference just one or two employees can make in the quality of service from a business. Sadly for this Pep Boys the change hasn't been positive. I'm lowering my 5 star ratings here, going back 5 years and encompassing 3 different 5 star reviews, down to the lowest possible rating. This is all about the horrible service department. The store personnel are still superb as far as I'm concerned. I came here yesterday with every intention of buying a battery for my SUV. Pep Boys' current ads say "Free installation with battery purchase!". I talk to Jason at the service counter. Yes they have my battery in stock. But oh shoot, they can't install it because my car "needs a computer reset after changing batteries". And oh shoot, their machine to do that is currently broken. Ok, when will it be fixed? Jason- "I don't know". Will it ever be fixed? Jason- "I don't know". Maybe never? Jason- "Yes maybe never". So I start to ponder- Is the required machine really broken? I have my doubts . But one thing is for sure- Jason has absolutely no interest in having Pep Boys install this battery for me. Hence, I lose all interest in buying my car battery from Pep Boys. It's not like they're the only store in town that sells car batteries. And note to Jason- When you're blowing off a potential customer like you did with me, at least you could unbury your face from your computer screen for a few seconds and pretend like you're interested. read more

Inglewood is my city so it saddens me to write this review but, The Pep Boys on Spruce is the worst. Every time I have ever gone for any type of help needing information from something as simple as replacing a battery to an oil change they say they can't help or because there are no employees available you have to wait days for it to even be looked at. Customer service at the service desk is a $xxt show. The guy never looked up my vehicle to see if he could offer assistance if I am a member of my vehicle was in the system, just sent me to another place. I have a car through FAIR that says they do a five point inspection with an oil change, the representative was too nonchalant and relaxed to make an attempt to look anything up. I literally don't know what they do there. What type of jobs they take. Meanwhile I'm in the parking lot after saying maybe those other instances of poor customer service were not the norm and one of people there was walking away to take call technicians is taking her phone calls. He needed an oil change for his car , this time he made an appointment so that he could avoid the wait and still ended up waiting 2 hours to get serviced . This is my fourth time doing business at this location. After being very patient, kind and understanding they still don't seem to have the wherewithal to professionally conduct business on such an expected level of the national name of Pep Boys. Jesse and Amber are really nice people, but I, as a consumer and business professional that's part time in the automotive industry, I need a company who'll stay on their staff and on top of things to assure you're keeping your word. Today was the third time related situation whereby my car took far longer than Expected and told it would. I dropped of my car at 12 noon and was told it would take from 2-4 hours. I arrived at 4:30 and was just told what my car needed. Why wasn't I contacted earlier? Why did they start on my car at the time I was told it would be finished? Why was my car just sitting on the rack/lift unattended as I walked toward the shop and waited in disbelief for several minutes? However, giving them the benefit of the doubt, they have new business with me, Uber and fair rental agency that increases their business. But they need to make some changes to accommodate and effectively MANAGE the growth. Like in this(my) case, when the demand is greater than the supply we (I) go elsewhere. They've always given an excuse and after a while? Excuses aren't good enough. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen... And\or get someone in there who can. And lastly, I offered a potential service worth several hundred dollars and they weren't to enthused about looking into rather or not they offered the service. But that's okay, I'll take the business some place else. OMG, I was just told that my car will it take an additional two hours. Now I have to take the star rating down another notch Again, nice people though I'm grateful for that and them.... ... When I arrived back to my condominium complex some of the neighbors were outside and saw me walking-which was unusual to them. So they asked what was going on. I told them "bad business with Pep Boys". Both of them said they had similar experiences and that I should never use them again-as they don't either.... Now that is bad business if the neighborhood is aware of the issues and they still haven't changed... My appointment was at 2pm for an oil change. I complained at 3:30p about the wait. My car wasn't even moved until 4:30p. Once the oil change started around 4:45p, it took 20 minutes to complete. I can see two mechanics and two customer service members in the garage drinking water and joking around. I've been the only person in the waiting area for the last 45 minutes. I was helped by a guy I can't remember his name anymore but he looked me up in there system with my phone number and was able to locate my warranty since I had got the old battery from them they replaced my battery free of charge. My experience with this pep boys has been nothing but 5-star. I visited this location after a very sketch experience at the one on Rodeo (don't go there with a flat tire looking to replace just ONE tire, or "suddenly" they'll claim multiple tires have nails in them and need to be replaced just as soon as they get you distracted with paperwork at the register. I digress). This location was the polar opposite. I came here after the Rodeo location DRAINED (and I suspect intentionally) what was left of my already struggling OEM battery and then suggested I buy a replacement while they were at it. They literally had to give me a jump after installing the two cheap tires I purchased to replace my expensive Michelin tires (again, one of which I do not suspect had a nail in it at all until they placed one conveniently at the top where it could be seen). Again, I digress. (I'm still tight about it!). Back to this location. The next morning after the debacle at the Rodeo location, I went to a laundromat to dry a really big blanket. After loading it into the dryer, I went back to my car and was about to pull out, but the battery died again. I called for roadside assistance. After they came and gave me a jump, I drove around (knowing I couldn't turn my car off or else I'd need roadside AGAIN for the third time in less than 24 hours). I went back to the Rodeo location, because it was the only one I knew of. The guy that pulled the okie-doke on me the day before, Byron, was all too eager to get me in the queue for more services, but he claimed it'd be about an 1.5 hours wait until they could get to my car. I was already feeling a way about the day before, so I feigned interest and said I'd come back later (with no intention on doing so). His thirstiness solidified my suspicions. I pulled up to this location mid afternoon and was greeted in the bay by a team member. I told him what I needed and he gave me an ETA of 20 minutes to completion. What?! Hell yes! I go inside. No lines. No waiting. A super pleasant and sweet female team member at reception helped me pick out the appropriate battery for my car and got me the best deal for my car type. And, just like he promised, my car was ready for me to drive off in within 20 minutes, literally. Very accurate ETA. I am so grateful for this location!!!!!! They went above and beyond and really did their best to mitigate my already nightmarish past 24 hours, and they did it with a smile, while we're in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak. God bless them all!!!!!!!! I strongly recommend this location over other locations. I am a forever customer if I ever have any other emergencies and can't make it to my dealer in Santa Monica. So I made an appointment on Monday for a wheel alignment to be done today at 9am because it's by appointment only. I get there @ 8:40am to be told that my vehicle won't be brought in for another 1-2 hours. So I asked what is the point of making an appointment? Took my SUV in to get the brakes checked, since I hadn't done them since buying the vehicle. Of course Pep Boys came back saying that I needed to do everything (including rotors), and quoted me $800. Now I know that Pep Boys tend to be on the higher side of auto repair shops, but I didn't expect that quote. So I asked them for the details to their quote, and only authorized the front brakes to be done... making sure that they kept the parts that were removed off of my car so that I could inspect them. I arrive several hours later to pick up the car and inspect the old parts. The pads were worn beyond their useful life (as I thought), but surprisingly the old rotors were still in really good condition. I checked them against a flat surface for warpage. Nada. I checked them for any damage from the calipers. Nada. Then I ask them why couldn't the rotors have been turned during the brake service, for which they start to "double-talk". They claimed that they didn't meet the "specs" for turning the rotors safely without them being too thin. Okay. What specs did you measure on these rotors, since I just paid an additional $150 for two brand new rotors that I don't think that I needed? Oh, I don't have the specs on the finishing paperwork, said the service department cashier. Okay... why wouldn't that tidbit of info be on the paperwork if you know that i gave you a verbal okay based on a phone conversation where you claimed that they measured too thin? Oh, and who has the specs? The lady that called you this morning... but she's out to lunch, said the cashier. Do you want to wait a while for her to come back to give that to you? Um, no... and why would she have the paperwork with her if she's out to lunch first off, and I don't believe that she was the manager. Why would the paperwork not be here for the people that you're calling to come pick up their car? *Crickets* If you're going to lie Pep Boys, train your people to be MUCH BETTER at it! read more
