They let me know they were pretty booked but they could definitely work me in, and gave me an estimate of 2-3 hours. They were all wonderful to communicate with- super polite & helpful. Fast and friendly service, don't let the old school shop building fool you. Got a sheet metal screw in my tire. 45 minutes before they closed, which was close for us as we were traveling back to Texas! I lucked out. I seriously lucked out. I had my tire tread abandon ship when I was about 20 minutes out from this location. On a sunday. At 3:45 PM. On a holiday weekend. My Lord. I scrambled to figure out what to do and to my delight pep boys was open. So I (very slowly) made my way over and hoped to the gods that they would have tires for me on premise. I was greeted by the nicest Michael who was friendly and ready to help. We found some tires that'll pass for me to continue on ward. They took my car in about 10 minutes and performed the miracle while I broke out my work computer, jumped on the wifi and made this unexpected side adventure a productive one. These guys saved our road trip. We noticed a wobble happening while heading into Florida for our vacation and stopped off here on a Sunday. I walked in and asked the guy behind the counter if they could help. He could have told us to wait several hours just for it to get looked at. Instead, he came right outside immediately, looked at the tire, diagnosed the problem (tire was separated) and told us what we needed to do (get a new tire). They had many people ahead of us in line and weren't able to get to our car that very day but referred us to Walmart who might be able to help us right away. Came here to have four fat patches of rubber put on my ride! I got there right when they opened up. The tire service was fairly fast because i was getting all four tires replaced. The service staff was great also. There was a slight glitch in the computer system that caused a slight delay in payment. The service guy was a true professional and kept working at the problem until it was fixed. My bill was $20 less than the original quote! Very Nice. The only hangup was the waiting room spot. It needed some more magazines to read but I am really reaching here. Great service. They quoted me the lowest price in for tires mounted and balanced in the area! Great Service! I took my car to this Pepboys because my car started overheating. They told me my vehicle needed a new cooling system. I then spent over $1000 with this Pepboys location over the course of 6 months replacing a bunch of unnecessary parts that did not fix my car at all. Instead, my car continually got worse and when I took it somewhere else, I was told that the issue was something completely different. When I explained this to the store manager, Josh, he seemed unconcerned and acted as if there was nothing they could do. Upon reaching out to cooperate to get a refund for all of the unnecessary "fixes" and parts that they claimed I needed, I was given the run-around and not refunded a single dime of what was taken from me. Instead, I just wasted a bunch more time trying to make things right and get a refund. If you are going for a tire or oil change, that's one thing. But, if you are going for anything more serious than that, I would not trust these people with my car. You might get scammed and will not get a refund. I can't speak for other Pepboys locations, but after my experience, I won't be going back to another one, and I will be telling everyone I know to help save others the trouble I had to go through with this company. Our car broke down and we were in a desperate situation. We made it to pepboys and Joshua looked at our car and he went above and beyond what he had to do. He made us feel totally comfortable. And even at closing time, he went out if his way and gave us a ride. The next day he thoroughly explained everything to us and painted a picture of the issue that we could actually understand. Please avoid this place if you can. The only reason I went here is because they are open on Sunday. I went in because my air conditioner was not blowing strong anymore. Omg I ended up with a bill for $1700 and the air conditioner still wasn't fixed. The manager Josh said that it needed a new condenser and a new compressor. Instead of diagnosing the true problem they changed all that and charged me a bunch of money I didn't need to spend because Leavins Automotive said it was the blower motor and it only cost $200!!!!!! My van is fixed thanks to Leavins, but still before I left Pep Boys the manager said they would have to go in deep to investigate the problem and it would cost me and additional $1200!!! I don't know why they did this to me, but be warned people, it could happen to you too. AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

The AAA guy who changed it to the spare, suggested this location for replacement. We made an appointment on line for the next afternoon, Monday, but they were able to work us in much earlier in the morning, so we were back on the road again before noon. While the overall look of the store was very clean and well organized the manager Lewis was very lacking in his customer service abilities to say the least. Just left out of here. My partner and I were on a road trip, got a flat and it's Sunday. Given that there weren't many options, we went to Pepboys. Brandon was a tad rude, could be his personality but we did not feel very welcomed. We dropped $100 on a new tire (we expected this) but it took them well over 2 hours to put damn the thing on. We were the only people in the shop. In the past, we've pulled up to tire shops (having called prior of course) and it's taken under 10 minutes. Whatever, they got the job done but we left feeling very annoyed. I'd recommend checking out other local shops and digging for something else open on Sundays if necessary. read more

We were on our way to CA and we broke down on the highway just outside of Crestview, FL. While I've never heard of this small town, I can't say enough nice things about the people here. From the guys that towed us, to David at the Quality Inn, they have made, what could've been a horrible experience, a really great overnight stay. Much of that is definitely from our experience at Pepboys on Ferndon. Not only did they take us in close to closing time, they pushed in our car since it was towed & did a first glance inspection free of charge. We told them our situation and they worked with us. Once we realized this car wasn't going to be out for the evening, Josh the store manager, GAVE US A RIDE to a hotel!! It was the most appreciated random act of kindness and it saved us a pretty pricey cab ride. We even had a dog with us and he took us all :) We ended up putting the car up for sale and getting a rental unfortunately, since we had to get back on the road, but Josh and his team were so accommodating. They even offered us some of their pizza. Really I can't say enough about these guys. The second time I took the time to actually make an appointment in advanced and they still did not finish my car at a decent time. Always with excuses. It took the technician almost 3 hours to replace all four tires on my truck. Meanwhile, I'm sitting in the customer waiting area with a big fan blowing hot air. They seriously need to invest in an a/c unit. Also, the military discount does not apply to tires if they are special order. I thought the discount would apply to the total purchase like most establishments. I saved $11 when he applied the discount on the installation after spending $1,000. My 17 year old son went to buy two new tires and get an oil change. He came back with a bill for $348.94. My husband and I went to Pep Boy's to review the bill with the manager. They did refund $19.99" for a "Flat tire repair" when there was no flat tire to repair. Parts $251.13 Labor $69.71 Other $4.35 Tax $19.75 The manager said he agreed to all other charges. They actually told him that he needed all the other stuff they charged him. . So read the small print and make sure you do need the work they are charging you for. They will try to "Up Sell" all sorts of extra work. read more

I took my car to them for an alternator replacement under aftermarket warranty. They replaced it with remanufactured alternator and I paid more than I thought I should have with the warranty, (shop fees, supplies, rags, etc.) and I could have purchased the alternator and put it in myself for the same rate. However, the transaction went well and my car was running again. So I was happy. About 2 weeks or so later, the alternator went out on my way home at night... In a not so great part of town. I was able to get it to a nearby chain parts store where they tested and confirmed that the alternator was shot. They had a new alternator and tools. So I bought it and installed it in their parking lot in 20 minutes. The next day, I took the defective part to Pep Boys to give them the opportunity to redeem themselves. The manager said I should have called or had my car towed to them. I explained to him that I knew they would have been closed at that hour and I wasn't going to leave my Corvette in a shady part of town, nor have it towed by someone who would more than likely cause body damage to the vehicle. He could tell that I was very disappointed and asked "What do you want me to do?" I told him that I would like for them to at least reimburse me for the cost of the part that I had to replace. He said he couldn't do it and would have to get authorization from his corporate people. It's been over two months now and I haven't heard anything from him or his corporate people. I will never use them again. I will discourage anyone from taking their vehicle there for service or parts. If you are considering taking your vehicle to this place for service, there are better options. These folks will not stand by their products or services. They also will not care about customer service in the event of failure on their behalf. Go elsewhere! read more

Pep Boys, Crestview: I scheduled an alignment on their website and still had a wait of more than two hours before they started. I get a call and the service manager said my front wheel bearings were very loose and needed to be repacked. I do a lot of my own auto repair and have been trained by an ASE certified mechanic on certain jobs, one of them being bearings. I checked the bearings the same morning before the appointment - everything was fine. The manager said the job would be nearly $350 more than the alignment alone. I declined all further maintenance and confronted the manager. He stumbled over his words and was unable to explain the suddenly loose bearings. When I got the vehicle home, I jacked it up and there was nothing wrong. I believe because I had a $50 off coupon for alignment, they were trying to ream me to make up for it. It seems they were hoping I was a naive, clueless customer they could take advantage of. Their actions were criminal. I'll NEVER go back there and suggest other owners to watch their wallets when dealing with these crooks. read more

I waited for 5 hours for my truck but it was all I waste of time since they cannot turn my rotors. 5 hours of waiting but I was told at 2:30 in the afternoon that they cannot do my brake service. I also find the Manager (Lewis) to be be very defensive and not customer friendly. He do not like to be ask questions regarding customer issues and problems with services. He is very short with customers that were having issues or not happy with the wait.. Pep Boys should re-evaluate their employees especially their management personnel to make they posses people skills. The worst place to get your vehicle worked on in Crestview! Even the local Auto Part Stores will tell you to NOT take your vehicle here... My wife needed an oil change before a long road trip back to here parents hometown. She took it to our normal mechanic, but they were closed for the day due to electrical problems. So she took it here. They looked the vehicle over and called her with an estimate of over $700. All she wanted was an oil change and tire rotation. They said they inspected the entire vehicle and this is what needed done. Even though they didn't notice the tale-light that was out... Long story short. My wife got an hour down the road on her trip and the splash shield, under her engine, fell down and was dragging on the road. She had to pull over and have someone help her. Who knows what else they did... DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!!!!! The local Auto Parts Stores recommend Main Street Auto and so do I. read more

Extremely slow! I'm not one to complain but it took over two hours to get my tires rotated. When I walked the door I was told there was one person in front of me.
