I have been a member since 1990 and have always loved this credit union until the last couple of years. I feel the employees aren't happy so they are unable to keep the customer happy. No more friendly employees (especially in the lobby in Valpo.). You just get the verbal acknowledgment, next time you are actually able to reach reach them by telephone, that they "couldn't answer the phone calls because they were too busy". And, to top that, you couldn't sign into your account for many days because of problems with their "3rd party" who apparently takes care of their online portal. Time to start shopping around for a better place to keep my money.

My husband's dilemma was a direct mistake of TCU and took initial effort, not of the company, but of the customer, to complain on social media to get any recognition. This completely unnecessary debacle had to be dealt with by a 28 year old son grieving the sudden death of his father. You should be totally ashamed. TCU transferred the loan amount of Nathan's deceased father's car into Nathan's name, but not the title, so Nathan owed TCU money, but couldn't drive the car. TCU fucked up this painful process so bad, a TCU agent had to physically go INTO a BMV branch to explain how they messed up so badly in order to get the title in Nathan's name. It took him complaining on FB to even get attention to the issue. He spent probably two months just being transferred around the company and being hung up on. So they took forever to finally get the title registered in his name (literal months) and the car just sat there and couldn't be driven. Since the car sat for so long, it has all these issues now and they refuse to give him any kind of compensation for repairs. No, I'm sorry, they offered him $200, which is a slap in the face.

Horizon Bank offers great service in their home loans department, but their credit card service…read morewould have to improve to be horrible. Recently, I had to lodge complaints with two state agencies to get any action on the "gift VISA cards" Horizon Bank sent me, and ended up losing over $150 in service fees to Elan Services (the card issuers) in fees, even though the cards would not work. I called customer service and was given the wrong information after four hours of working with them, and Horizon Bank refused to acknowledge me or the program after repeated notes to them. It's fine in a world of Black Lives Matter that this bank's board is lily white. It obviously represents the board's sense of community. However, to completely ignore customers and disavow themselves of a program they sponsor, costing customers hundreds and ignoring them compeltely -- is this the group you want as your bank? Dante would create a new level of hell for this customer service department. Avoid them at all costs

Their call center is closed on Sundays with absolutely no chance of speaking to a real person, only a robot, even if your issue is extremely urgent. Even on days they are open, the phone number that most branches have listed is just the call center(which is automated and extremely annoying to navigate), which makes it incredibly hard to reach the actual branch. I'm extremely disappointed in how their customer service has declined.
