My experience has been marked by an unsupportive community, accessibility issues, and poorly organized courses. Several professors were inaccessible, dismissive, or outright rude when asked for help, and many emphasized abstract theory with little to no practical legal experience or real-world application. Course organization was consistently weak, with unclear expectations and shifting requirements that made learning unnecessarily difficult. I regret my decision to attend UT Law. Prospective students should carefully consider whether they are comfortable in a program with limited support, weak accessibility, and a lack of practical, well-structured instruction.

AVOID THIS LAW SCHOOL! I graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law at Knoxville,…read moreand I can tell you firsthand that this law school is a sham -- an absolute waste of your time and money. I graduated with perfect attendance and with a 2.70 / 4.00 grade point average, and yet I failed the Tennessee Bar Examination seven times. I never passed the bar exam, and I never became an attorney. Instead, I became the laughing stock of my family and friends and synagogue. I blame my law professors for my inability to pass the bar exam. My law professors had no talent, no passion, and no personality. They taught me everything except what I needed to know to pass the bar exam. I relied on my law professors to teach me to become an attorney, and they failed me. The law professors at U.T. Law School are all State of Tennessee government employees -- dull, dry, uninspiring civil servants. Their lectures are dry as dust. They have the enthusiasm of a corpse. Their main goal is to retire and collect their lucrative Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System benefits. They don't give a damn about their students after graduation day. Some tenured law professors don't give a damn about their students ever. How ironic that the law professors teach the fundamental legal principles of accountability and liability and responsibility, yet they practice none of them. Blatant hypocrites. They suffer no consequences if their students fail the bar exam. The law professors are never held accountable for their incompetence. They refer to themselves as "The Volunteers" but not one law professor volunteered to help me pass the bar exam after I told them that I had failed it. They are "Volunteers" in name only, not in spirit. They have no intention of volunteering their free time to help a struggling student. Like I said before, the law professors don't give a damn about their students outside the classroom. They are detached civil servants. A law degree is worthless without an accompanying law license. In fact, it's worse than worthless, it's a curse. It haunts you like a dead albatross around your neck. My law diploma is worthless, literally worthless. It has no practical value except to scoop up dog poop. Attending the University of Tennessee College of Law at Knoxville is the biggest regret of my life, hands down. I would give my soul to the Devil if I could travel back in time and attend a different law school. Even an unaccredited law school is better than this one. The U.T. Knoxville campus is beautiful, and the students are friendly, and the football games and tailgate parties are fun, but the law professors are incompetent teachers, and their incompetence will eventually sink you. Avoid this law school. Don't make the same mistake I made. Sincerely, Bradley Alan Kaufman, Morristown, Tennessee.
