a hand holding a jar of spices

Try one spice and you'll be back. I stopped in one day randomly and got a few small size spices and they gave me a free large jar of their curry powder. Wow! I usually like to mix my own spices but my gosh all their spices were gold! The curry powder was phenomenal!!!! I have been back multiple times! I have to say, ground fenugreek is so hard to find, normally. The paprikas are so flavorful and aromatic. I grabbed a few more blends to try that I would not know how to mix myself. Also the people are wonderful! They are so kind and friendly. Spend the extra buck on good spices. Worth it!!! Also they have a lot of organizations they support and are peace based. So they are better than other companies that support hateful rhetoric. Go get some now!!!!!

This particular Penzey's Spices outlet is in Sandy Springs, Georgia, which is a suburb of Atlanta. Georgia. It is located in a shopping plaza, so parking is not an issue. The staff is extremely friendly and professional and Penzey's Spices often have some great sales. I am a huge fan of this company and I am very impressed by some of their spices. Some favorites are their granulated garlic, their Now Curry, their peppercorns, their Chicago steak seasoning, many of their dried herbs (parsley, basil, oregano, Mexican oregano, etc.), and just so much more. The store is very soothing to walk through and you can find so many cool.and intriguing spices. I was introduced to both epazote and their berbere seasoning and have been regularly using both spices. Cooking is an act of love and passion and these spices make my dishes come out better. I am very impressed with both this brand and this location. Every time I am passing through this part of the world, I will usually stop by.

I'm writing this in part because of the 1 star ratings from conservatives in retribution to VP Harris visiting a Penzeys store. I boycott a few places based on their conservative politics...the Jesus chicken place, Hobby Lobby, local burger place so I get the sentiment but what I don't understand is trying to hurt those businesses by posting bad reviews. Just don't patronize them if you don't care for their political views. To lie in a review and suggest that the product they sell is not good is just over the top mean and hateful. The my way or the highway is unAmerican. The real shame is that y'all have hardened your hearts and let someone's words determine your bad behavior. Penzeys is a great company and their spices are the best I've ever used. My cooking became so much better when I discovered them many years ago.

Ordered online and the bottles were open

Anybody who lives the metro ATL area knows that if you need spices, go to the Dekalb Farmers Market. Silly of me to order online from Penzey's with a discount code. Bottles did not survive mail transit and as my pictures indicate it was a mess when it arrived. It was not worth the free incentive to order online. Not harm to Penzeys... I'll go back to the original.

I think they may rotate the pizza offerings seasonally, but either way - highly recommend! They use a honey glaze that is a sweet note in addition to the savory toppings and is great on the crust when you get to the end of your slice. The Caesar salad is a solid salad. No complaints but if a heavily black peppered salad isn't your jam, you may need to mention that to your server when you order. The Paccheri Alla Vodka pasta dish was my main entree and I really enjoyed it. I usually enjoy a red sauce but I wanted some seafood with my pasta and this hit the spot. The shrimp that come with it are not overcooked and there's a generous portion of it too. It's in the same plaza as the Trader Joe's, along with lots of other businesses, but parking isn't an issue. And its free, so that's a win.

Our server was only there to take orders and disappeared after bringing out our appetizers and mains. The food was average - the appetizers did not have much flavor, and the main dishes flavors were not great. I could not finish my bolognese pasta (store bought pasta probably tastes better) what a letdown. My husband's chicken Marsala was better but still very average. We had room for dessert but we were scared to order lol

This review is based on my first visit to locate a different Bulgarian yogurt. PSA - It's a retail shop NOT a wholesale as it's incorrectly categorized...I've put in a correction to Yelp but we all know how that goes... + Ambiance is a slow south eastern European grocery shop with a pre-occupied cashier on her phone. A handful of well-organized aisles filled with dry goods, pottery, refrigerated goods in along the walls and a small over the counter deli in the back. + Food is imported goods from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Turkey, Greece and others around southern Baltic Sea. I found interesting condiments, pates, coffees, teas, nectars, cheese, salami, sweets and tchotchkes. In the back they have a small deli with varieties of fresh feta (goat, sheep and cow), olives and fresh made baklavas and other sweets (unknown to me). They also make a handful of inexpensive sandwiches. Unfortunately for me though, they were out of Bulgarian yogurt that I made the trip for. ++ Price is very reasonable. They accept credit cards. + Service was humorous and was friendlier than Hong Kong. The lady behind the deli was older who didn't speak English well and was helpful. The cashier in the front who looked to be in her late 30s was glued to her phone, crouched on a stool, aloof when I asked about the (missing) prices on jars of peppers but came back to tell me the price a few minutes later. She obviously understood and spoke more English but couldn't be bothered to speak...much. + Parking is free and shared with other shops. Over all, it's an interesting little import grocer and a fun place to find southern Baltic foods!
