Great Business! Any cook should compare their products to any other spices they are currently using! Hard to find ingredients for baking are their normal. One of my favorite businesses in every state I've lived too.

    Such a cute store!

Great selection and knowledgeable staff. And if you subscribe to their email you get great offers! Sometimes even free stuff.

Can I give less than one star? Stale, old, questionable ingredients. Store brand spices at Walmart are better.

The year-end holidays are upon us. It's too early to have visions of sugar plums dancing in our…read moreheads but it's just the time to have visions of smoked ham, turkey, green beans and other delicious foods playing with our salivary glands. There's always been an age-old debate of whether to serve cornbread dressing or stuffing. In the South it's cornbread dressing hands down all day long. That doesn't mean that all cornbread dressings are the same. You have: chicken pieces or not, sage or not, diced boiled eggs or not, soupy or dry, add some white bread or not, write your recipe out or just "eyeball" it. Of course, there is a certain rule to be followed religiously and that is to never use sweet cornbread. Then again, true Southerners would never cook sweet cornbread. With such a variation in the quality of dried sage in the stores some dressing batches use half a container of sage and some batches only require a heaping spoonful. There is a source for quality cornbread dressing seasoning that can be mailed to your home all year long. Suzy Purvis is a lady from Alabama and she knows her cornbread dressing. Actually, that's what she is known for and has won awards for it many times. Her family operates a spice business and are well-known for their breakfast sausage seasonings. I first learned of Mrs. Purvis through an on-air interview on a local radio talk show. Then I noticed the spice company name associated with the local meat market where I was buying my bulk breakfast sausage. The Spice Connection is a reliable source for consistency and high quality sage that is used in her cornbread dressing formula. There is a site that is dedicated to just the dressing packets www.https://www.dressingturkeys.com and there are recipes and hints to help you make successful dressing https://www.dressingturkeys.com/recipes I'm from the old school of "eye balling" and never writing down my measurements. But, there started to be an inconsistency to my batches mainly from the sage I was buying. I thought I would try the seasoning packet when I heard Mrs. Purvis on the radio. My first attempt at using her spice packet resulted in the best dressing I had made in a few years. Mrs. Purvis is the nicest person to correspond with through email. I had questions on how thin she makes her dressing before cooking it and she responded promptly and we carried on a nice conversation for a couple of days just talking about how the holidays used to be when the grandparents were alive and cooking. The only thing I have to say about the seasoning packet is to be sure and NOT add salt to anything you will add to the dressing mix before cooking. This especially includes the broth you use. The seasoning is more than just sage and it is pretty salty and if you add salt at every stage of prep like most cooks do the end result will probably be inedible due to over salting. Wait and add additional salt when you taste the mix before you add your raw eggs (if you add them).

They have great specialty dairy and all of their non-perishables are top tier. As a gluten free person I know I can get a full cart of groceries here and not have to compromise. Some of my ALL TIME favorite Sprouts picks are: - Bizzy espresso roast cold brew - good culture full fat cottage cheese - bubbies pickles and sauerkraut - LIVE SODA SPICY CHERRY BERRY flavor!!! - sprouts dill pickle chips made with avocado oil - Kalona farms heavy cream - siggi's vanilla skyr yogurt - sprouts mayo (weirdly good) - lesser evil popcorn - groundwork coffee - rotten foods sour gummy cruncheez The staff are always nice and accommodating. Today I saw them have a group staff huddle on the floor which was cool. I hope they treat their employees right and pay them well!! Chris is super nice

Not only is it easy to browse the newest ads, I like that there is overlap in the ads--one day that you can shop two weekly ads at the same time. Because this location is a little farther from me, this perk makes it easier to combine the trip to save both time and money. Of course, our favorite is the bulk shopping items; okay, maybe mostly the gummy bears. They've gone up recently, but when you can get them on a sale, it makes it all worth it!
