There was a friendly family to check us in. They helped us find a place to get some food at 11:00 pm (the 7-11 down the street as this town shuts down early). There was free Wi-Fi and cable in my room. The room was huge, much bigger than the 2 of us needed for 1 night. We had a double and a queen bed. There was a full kitchen and a good sized bathroom. The only real complaint is that I wish the windows had curtains, they had the horizontal blinds but really could have used curtains on top of that. The parking was also a bit cramped and the place is "retro", but I like that feel. Outside there was a pool and a playground as well. Very child friendly. Overall it was a great value for the money. I would stay again anytime.

There is a reason why this wine tour is so much cheaper than the others online…read more I went with a friend on August 27th, 2017. 2 pm start with the pickup from the holiday inn express kelowna. The driver was great but we feel as though paying $60 each was not worth the tour and heres why: The wineries they choose: 1) The view winery (which also made us wait a substantial amount of time) only let us sample a portion of their wines. Others around us, and there was 5 stations to observe, were given 3 more wines to taste and their in house ciders which we were not offered. 2) Meadow vista, although unique was limited in scope of their wines. 3) Kitsch vineyard only had 3 whites for sampling. Our host had known this fact and told us this. In the case of kitsch winery, we feel as though either we should have been taken to another winery as compensation, or altogether been taken to another winery as offered on your website. The van didn't have any air conditioning and it was 33 degrees out.

The trailer was beautiful clean and fully stocked with everything that we needed. They even surprised us with wine on the table and a hand written note. During stay they even dropped in to check on us and recommended activities in the area. We highly recommend Paul and Andrea if you truly want a glamping vacation with no stress and bells and whistles. Going to book again with additional family members and rent 2 trailers

I gave him all the…read moredetails such as dates, the campground we were to be staying at along with the site number, our names, and I emailed him the requested amount to hold the unit. In July I contacted him to ask a few questions and he told me he didn't have me booked. He had double booked his unit. After a lot of going back and forth, repeating my name, campground, and dates numerous times he finally got things sorted out. The day we are travelling to the campground he phones asking what site number we are in. Normally this wouldn't bother me but because I spent an hour on the phone with him a couple of weeks prior when he didn't have us booked and I had to relay our information to him over and over again I was a bit irritated. Get your shit together Paul! Maybe write things down or something. Finally we get to the campground and Paul is there just finishing setting up the unit. It was an older trailer but looked like it would suit our needs for our 7 day stay. The step to get into the RV was broken. There was supposed to be 2 steps but I guess the bottom one broke because there was only 1. It was a big step to get in an out of the unit. Thankfully my elderly mother in law didn't hurt herself. Paul had stated the trailer had 3 bunks. In actuality it only had 2. The 3rd was a piece of foam placed on the floor under the 2 bunks in what is meant for storage space. The queen bed was not a proper mattress. It was an older piece of foam with a thin foam mattress topper on top. When you lay on it both sides go up and push you into the centre of the bed. My husband and I are still experiencing excruciating back pain from this bed. The pilot light in the RV kept going out making it difficult for our family of 5 to shower and do dishes. All the dishes provided in the unit are plastic dollar store crap so you are unable to use the microwave. Once we got home and got settled I reached out to Paul explaining that the queen bed had caused my husband and I excruciating back pain. I also expressed that I felt the unit wasn't up to par and requested compensation from him. After he told me that he had replaced the queen foam 18 months ago and no one else has ever complained he denied my request for compensation. We will never rent from Paul again.

They brought it back to her warm from the drier as soon as it was done for her much-needed nap. We have been coming to the Waterfront Inn for many years and we were a little nervous about it being under new management but what an upgrade! We got driven around four different wineries in the Naramata region because a coworker had suggested we try chef Bongo's cooking (chef Bongo was a partner at the Naramata Heritage Inn, but started his own restaurant just down the road: Village Grounds - Cafe & Bistro). Karen started us with Lang Vineyards, got us to try wines from the most established vines in the region, the experience was delicious, the view was amazing, and the service was awesome. We got the maple dessert wine but truly regretted later for not getting the sparkling rose. Next was Mocojo Wines, again, amazing view and great wines, but what stuck out was the story about this winery, the design of their label and the name, definitely a must go winery! Throughout the tour, Karen made sure to check up on us, give us some tips on how we can enjoy the tastings and find out what we like, without the pressure of "you must buy something". In the end, I went from knowing nothing about wine to discovering that I'm a Riesling person and just because I think I'll like the fruit wines, doesn't mean I'll be able to find that perfect wine at an orchard winery. We'll definitely be back for more Grape Friends tours and you won't regret joining them!

My husband and I had a great day with Karen on our wine tour in Naramata this spring…read more I'm been on a few wine tours in several regions/countries and Grape Friends was probably the most informative and fun tour thus far. I've only ever learned more from a sommelier lead tasting class focused more on pairings and the idea behind those are very different anyway. Karen's primary rule is to have fun and that's what she does so it would appeal to all experiences and interest levels. She wants to keep wine accessible and snobby free but still had me learning new things even though I've been around the snobbery and don't mind that either. We had a picnic lunch which was well worth it and highly recommended. Lots of fresh food, cheeses, meats, veggies and fruit and we were told to play with flavors and combinations. I would choose this over a winery lunch and do a winery lunch on my own a different day when I have some time to spend hanging out as the wineries don't seem to be in a hurry in this region at all. We ended up liking the wine a lot more than planned and bought a lot more than we ever expected to which is probably good and bad. Ha. We did the dinner drop off and pickup after which was also great. Karen handled the reservation for us and everything and we just called when we were done. It was nice to not have to worry about getting dinner after being out drinking and then getting home after. Also, we didn't have to get dropped off at our room with our haul of wine and then do a cab both ways either. We learned that summerland and naramata have different soil and it would be interesting to contrast the two areas in two separate days one after another (like a couple ladies on our tour were doing). Karen also says she can arrange behind the scenes tours which I did in Italy and really enjoyed and would love to do again at some point. So, basically we have a lot of wine to drink but when that goes away we'll have to visit again. Over all highly recommended and worth the price as it's more than just a driving service.

Tasting fee is $10.00/person (for 6 pours) but is waived with a bottle purchase. It was packed when we went but our servers were kind and friendly. They also have a small pizza and charcuterie menu. We bought a bottle of sparkling piquette ($19.95) for home. - Rosé sparkling 2020 - prosecco style bubbles (merlot grapes). - Bettie's meritage white 2021 - their take on a white "Bordeaux". - Adelaide white 2019 - blend of gewurtz and viognier. - Rosé 2020 - off dry. This is the base rosé used to make the rosé sparkling. - Gamay 2020 - tasted very young. Felt like it needs some time to mellow out. - Old timer's red blend 2018 - their version of a big, bold Bordeaux. Blend of 5 reds. Decent wines at WW but nothing particularly stood out for us.

The staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating, we asked for a couple wine glasses and he said they should be in your room before you get there. The only arrived a couple minutes later. We had a beautiful view of the city, it was all lit up for Christmas, just gorgeous. And a cute little balcony with a couple chairs and table. There was also black out blinds which I really appreciated. The climate control was great, and not too loud when it kicked on. The room was tidy and nicely laid out. The bathroom was great with a huge mirror lining one wall. The beds were a bit stiff, but not bad, lots of pillows to choose from and the sheets were alright, a bit loud when you moved but comfortable. One really nice perk was the complementary house coats in the room, that was a nice touch. Fortunately, they did not have such outrageous requirements. We were kind of amused to find that the cheaper lake facing rooms were $20 less than the closer lakeside rooms which were right next to the street with little to no view in contrast to the beautiful view we had. We rolled in at 630am after driving all night and were greeted by a warm older couple that owns/manages the place. Unfortunately the check in is later on in the afternoon (230 I think) and they were unable to flex for us despite being destroyed exhausted. The rooms are kind of like something you'd see out of a 70's Miami Scareface movie (dated and bright colours you'd expect to see down there). While it looked dated the first smell we were greeted by when we walked in was the smell of cleaning agents but the AC was turned off so it was stifling hot in there. It had a full kitchenette in there and a table. If you had a guest there was a pull out couch bed. The air conditioner filter in our room needed to be cleaned or something as it smelled dirty. The room was however spotless and the same could be said about the pool. I kind of wish they replaced the towels on our second day there but not too big of a complaint. The place was otherwise flawlessly kept up despite the dated design style (although freshly painted). The hotel is about 200 feet from the lake and really close to many of the areas most impressive wineries including the Cya Later Ranch, and the Blasted Church with both equally spectacular views. The beach is sandy and has a nice little path to walk on. If you're looking for a cost effective place to spend a weekend this is a nice little place that doesn't have the online presence it deserves so here I am the first reviewer!
