I noticed that this new store had opened and it hadn't been there very long and so I decided that I would go in and see if I can get an oil change done. First of all of this location was built where a bank used to sit and unless you live in the town, you're not gonna know that it's there. But it's located on the corner of 27th and Iowa and its very visual. Access to the facility is very easy to get to and it is not crowded. First of all they have a sign in the front of their building that says oil change in 15 minutes. I was skeptical when I saw the sign because I've never had an oil change done that fast, but I went ahead and pulled into the line. I was immediately greeted by a blonde female and I was impressed that I was looking at her uniform and I seen all the dirt and oil on it knowing that she's working as a mechanic and making a decent salary then did my heart good to see a woman working there. She greeted me and was very friendly and told me where to park. there were five other cars ahead of me. One negative thing did happen was that they made me change lanes four times. They had me move from Lane one to lane three, then from Lane three to Lane two and then eventually made me move back to Lane one, then they made me back out so that someone in lane two could get in front of me in Lane one. I know that's a lot and and it was extremely frustrating and that's why that was an issue for me. As far as I could see there were six mechanics all working the three lanes not to mention the people who were under your car doing the oil change so they were well staffed and well-equipped. The place was clean. No trash or debris, it was spotless. They all helped each other and worked in teams of two. Most of all they were engaging. they kept talking with me. I had a guy who told me everything that I need to know. He showed me what the level in my car was, showed me the filter, everything I needed to know he informed me of . in the past, I had oil changes done and nothing was never communicated with me, until it's time to pay the bill so I did feel that this place was a step above other places in that respect. Now I do believe the oil change is a little expensive but I don't think it has to do with the company so to speak. I think it's just inflation in general. And they have to stay competitive with other businesses that do the same, so I get it. Overall I would recommend going to this Valvoline and even though they promised they can get it done in 15 minutes I was there probably 35 minutes but even that is better than sitting in a dealership waiting for hours for a simple oil change

I brought the car back to Pennzoil and they claimed they fixed the problem. When I got home, I inspected it again and there were still two screws missing from the cover plate. They then proceeded to tell me it was leaking oil "bad" and that I should take it to the dealership and have the oil cooler replaced ASAP! I called the next day to speak to a manager to get clarification on how it could be leaking so bad when it wasn't before the oil change. He was less than pleasant as it was his son who changed my oil. I took it to Jeep that day and the dealership tech said it was NOT leaking at all. I will never go back.

I actually looked at him like he was crazy because it was a Sunday afternoon. He assured me they were still open. I have to confess that I did not entirely believe him. LOL. He said, "They can fix it in 10 minutes and it will cost you about $16." Yeah, right. So I headed Westside 66 and kept my fingers crossed. The cashier told me to pull around back and they would look at the tire. Honestly, within ten minutes... the tire was fixed and it cost $16. I could not believe my good luck on finding this place. The mechanic who worked on my tire was nice, professional and he knew exactly what to do to get me fixed. He did not waste time with small talk and he got me right on my way. The cashier was very nice and courteous. She, too, was professional and very helpful. I appreciate her guidance. I asked her if they had been busy and she said it was a slow day for them. It was hard to believe it was a slow work day because both bays were filled and other cars were lined up for service. I will definitely go back to this station for service. I brought my car in for an oil change after my cross-country move to Lawrence a month or so ago. When I was leaving, I told them they could look it over to see if any other work needed to be done and that, if the air filter looked bad, I'd be more than willing to replace it. I mentioned that specifically because we replaced it about a month ago. They said our air filter looked brand new and that everything else was totally in order (we got the car souped up, $600 with my old mechanic, right before the trip so this doesn't surprise me at all). Test passed!! Oil change for my Chevy sonic was ~$60. They don't have an area to wait or anything which is no big deal if you can have someone take you somewhere else (like a coffee place on Mass) or walk yourself (it's less than a mile). It's not the best area to walk through because of the high traffic. I understand that because they are so small a sitting room might seem silly. They also really liked having a lot of time (like a few hours for an oil change scheduled days in advance) so you wouldn't want to sit their anyways. Their parking lot is difficult to navigate because they have so many cars just kind of there. I think I don't understand why because I'm not a car person. All I know is, I was terrified of hitting something because they are so close together. Basically, cosmetic/convenience issues but a mechanic with integrity will always get at least 4 from me because they can be so hard to come by.

Usually I let my husband do all the auto maintenance stuff but I went along this time and was pleasantly greeted by all the staff, even those not helping us. My vehicle was ready at the appointed time, and the price estimated was exactly what we paid. I know sometimes people report that their vehicles are left with a mess after maintenance people work on them, but this has never been our experience here.
