Just by coincidence it was some type of muffler issue rattling and making the noise. He called me up said he would fix it for me at no charge. I am grateful for that because an honest transmission guy is hard to find if you're not from the area. When I arrived at his shop, Gene asked what was going on with the transmission and what I needed done. After giving him the details on my truck build (70 C10 with 5.3L LS swap), the problems I was having, and what I'd like to do with the transmission. He listened, took notes, and then gave some suggestions on the internal components needed to get me where I wanted to be. After leaving my truck with him, Gene test drove it and called me to let me know what was going on. Asked if I wanted to move forward and I gave him the go ahead. He called me back to let me know that my drive shaft was too short and would need to be replaced, even gave me a solid recommendation to get that done too. 3 days later, my truck was flying down the road and shifting better than new. 500 miles later, no leaks, no squeaks, and no complaints.
