Perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and the combo of the seafood with the burger just worked way better than I expected. The whole vibe in here feels local and comfortable, like the kind of spot you stumble into once and immediately want to come back to. Service was quick and friendly too. If you're anywhere near the area, this place is 100% worth stopping in for--especially that Surf & Turf Burger. I'd go back just for that alone.

As a nice joke on the name, there is a small hole in the wall that is enclosed that you can see from the outside. The walls are filled with old decorations, TVs, Conway signs and decor. The food was overall good. We started with the Thai salad. It was enormous and comes with pepper, sunflower seeds, cranberry, sunflower seed dried, almonds, and more. This salad was so good that we got it to go the next day! For entrees we got the Texas Tornado sandwich (boneless chicken breast with bacon) and the Surf and Turf Burger. The chicken wasn't dry and the sweet potato fries ($2 upcharge) were good. For the surf and turf, I didn't feel like the lobster blended well with the burger so I took it off and ate it separately. The French fries were finger licking good! Our waitress was really nice and friendly and make some good conversation and recommendations. The wait time for our entrees was a little slow.

We decided to go away for thanksgiving this year and chose to go to the Wild Rose for Thanksgiving…read moredinner. Overall I found the entire experience to be lackluster compared to how it was in previous years. The first thing we saw when we arrived was the hostess and I was shocked by her outfit. Her dress was far too short and not appropriate at all for a holiday or the level of upscale dining we were paying for. We were seated immediately but then service dragged. We got bread long before our drinks. Our first course came quickly but the soups were lukewarm at best. I had the apple salad and found it to be extremely refreshing and not at all what I expected but in a good way! The star of the meal was dinner, however, they gave me the wrong side. The waiter did quickly remedy the situation but again for this level of dining I expected better. The prime rib was absolutely out of this world. The herb crust was amazing. However I was quite disappointed with the presentation it was dropped on top of the mashed potatoes and bled over everything. My mother had the thanksgiving dinner and she loved it. She especially liked the sausage stuffing which is not something she would normally eat and was impressed by it. The desserts were average and to be honest I again expected better. For three people we paid about $450. If I am spending that much money on dinner I want to be floored by the entire experience and I just wasn't. If I'm being completely honest the prime rib saved this review. So I hope the chefs get credit for it!!

When we told the waiter it was inedible he went to the kitchen and basically brought us back the same thing with the flame lowered... They did not add chocolate to thicken it and it was still gritty and watery.... We asked for spoons to try to save it as we could see it a lost cause and they were not going to try and make it right I wanted to walk out and refuse to eat it but did not want to embarrass my friend.... Absolute waste of money and huge disappointment..

Walked in 15 mins later with my girlfriend, we were warmly welcomed by Jo Jo who could not be any nicer, she did indeed seat as right away but she gave us a quick overview of the menu, made recommendations & then led us to a nice table in the dining room. we started off with excellent drinks ( my painkiller was mad exactly how I liked them making me feel like I was back in Yost Van Dyke in Virgin Islands, we got the fried calamari ( as Jo Jo recommended which was excellent)! For entrees , I got Short Rib Marsala ( another one of Jo Jo's recommendations ), it was the best Short Rib , I ever had, girlfriend got a steak which was perfectly cooked just as she ordered. We had no room for dessert but both were so satisfied. Jo Jo waved good bye & we vowed to return again next time we were in the area. Thanks Jo Jo & all @ Tuckerman's for a great dinner !

(Dirty room, vowed never again to try to sleep there after the night Innkeeper told us to just sleep on top of the covers because she isn't housekeeping.) Anyhoo, I'd heard they do breakfast for the public and that there may possibly be new owners so we went back to give it a. Try. We walked past the front desk with an old man on the phone who didn't even look up. Then we wandered around looking for the host stand while some old lady vacuumed. No greet, no welcome, she just kept vacuuming while we tried to figure out how to get a table. No one bothered to help, say hello or even acknowledge that they could see us so we left. Seriously, forget this place. They clearly don't care to stay in business. Update: just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind after this response, it literally says breakfast on your sign by the road and you have a breakfast menu on your website. AND there were people in the dining room eating soooooo, what am I misunderstanding? Never mind. Good luck.

We were going to get drinks, and then head over to our reservation at a different restaurant. Upon entering the building, we found the lounge and were greeted by a hostess, who informed us we could sit anywhere. We chose a cozy-looking rounded couch near the fire. When I sat down, I noticed the table in front of us was covered with drinks from a previous party. There was also a menu left over from them. I decided to ignore this and we picked up the menu to look at what drinks they offered. I wish I could say something about what the drinks tasted like or their quality, but the only thing we consumed here was the air we breathed. We were pretty much ignored the entire 20-30 minute period that we sat on that couch. The only sort of acknowledgment we got was from a girl that came in with big plates of food, asking different patrons if they ordered the meal she was holding. She asked us and two other groups before walking out with the food. I understand how busy it can get, and I would have been okay with waiting longer if we had been greeted by the bartender. Saying something like "Hey guys, I'll be right with you." May seem small and insignificant, but it lets the customer know that you see them and will be back to take care of them. We ended up going to The Wentworth, where they also have a bar/cocktail lounge. The waitress was very busy running around with plates, but she said hello and made us feel welcome. Ever since we went to Stonehurst Ive been reading over reviews, and there are so many things I was shocked to see. The price of a stay is way too expensive for the type of feedback this place is getting. I hope things change so that people can enjoy this historic location once more.

Over the years staff has come and gone (save for a few who return every year faithfully, and it is always a joy to see them again), but Vito's recipes are pretty steadfast. His bolognese has been my standard for decades. Once upon a time, he had the best salad dressing I'd ever had. It has changed a bit with time but still pretty incredible. The staff is not quite what it used to be - possibly due to times changing, or possibly due to my being a bit older and more cranky - but the food is always outstanding.

Seating is a little tight at these tables. There are booths and lower tables but you need to take what's available if you want to eat here. Believe me, you do want to eat here! We were served delicious Italian bread with delicious garlic, balsamic, cheese & rosemary dipping sauce. We were then served with salads with their own dressing. It was really good. We ordered toasted ravioli in a marinara sauce and two baseball sized meatballs. Both delicious. Then my honey got veal parmigiana, I got Chicken, Broccoli and Ziti in a white cheese sauce, and my sister got Chicken Marsala. We were very impressed with the portions and taste of all of these dishes. It was surprising to find such fine dining down a side street in North Conway near Zebs Country store. There is plenty of parking, a full bar, plenty of wines to choose from and handicap accessible. We rated this a 10 out of 10. We didn't have dessert as it was me and my twins Birthday. But, they sure looked delicious. Next time, and there will be a next time, I will try a dessert.
