My husband attended Pennco Tech's electrician program in 2024. He completed the six-month program and earned a B+. It has been absolutely useless. When we visited the school originally, we met with the program director in his office. While he presented as very confident, he made promises to us that this school did not keep. It is true that job placement was not promised; it was heavily implied. We were strongly reassured that the school possessed the resources, staff, and dedication to assist their students in obtaining jobs. The director made it sound like his school has connections, and he knows the people by name who do the hiring at major local companies because they frequently reach out to him. Indeed, he seemed very confident, but prouder of his position than concerned about his students as individuals. That should have been my red flag, I guess. My husband and I gave him the benefit of our doubt. My husband has been unable to find a job. It has been over two years since graduation. He stayed in contact with the school, but the assistance was very weak. Halfhearted even. What can we do? It's all water under the bridge now. The secretary used to send out a job listing every few months. It was ridiculous because the listing was always days to weeks old, one or two open positions, and 200 other people had already applied. My husband even went back to work with the school's advisors on his resume and job interviewing skills. He got some vague advice, but there was no follow-up on their part. There are many ways to follow-up with graduates who are struggling; a phone call, an email, a Zoom call. It's almost funny, because the advisors worked diligently to get our loan approved, and she was right on time for those $700 checks I wrote every month. This productivity, it seems, ends once the bill is paid. All that my husband gained from graduating from Pennco Tech is a large student loan debt. The entire point of a school like this is to help people gain the skills to land a job in their field and begin a new career. No job equals no improvement in earnings. Extremely Disappointed - Misleading Promises and Unprofessional Conduct I'm a current medical assistant student, and I'm writing this review to share some serious concerns about how this school is being run -- particularly regarding student access to basic resources like the library, and the professionalism of certain staff members. When I toured the school before enrolling, we were told the library was available for student use -- a quiet place to study, research, and complete assignments. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the reality. Recently, students (especially medical students) have been told they can only go into the library to print papers and then leave immediately. Meanwhile, students from other programs are allowed to stay and work. If the rule applies to everyone, then it should apply to everyone. We've also been told we can only use the library during breaks or after school, but then staff turn around and say we can't be there after school if we're making up time. With only a couple of hours after class, it's nearly impossible to get meaningful work done -- especially for students without reliable internet at home. Beyond that, there's a concerning pattern of unprofessional behavior. Some staff members have made comments to students that come off as intimidating or condescending, particularly toward female students. That kind of tone has no place in a professional or educational environment. There have also been multiple complaints from students with documented medical conditions who say their accommodations were denied or dismissed. This is not just unethical -- it could violate federal disability laws (like the ADA and Section 504). And finally, the bathroom policy is unreasonable and borderline demeaning. We're all adults, yet we're being told we can only take 10-minute bathroom breaks, including walking time. For students with medical needs, that's simply not feasible. Overall, there's a major disconnect between what this school promises and what it actually provides. Students deserve consistent policies, equal treatment, and respect -- not confusion, intimidation, or discrimination. If you're considering enrolling here, I'd strongly suggest asking detailed questions about student access, accommodations, and school policies before committing. 1/10 totally do not recommend. I worked in the electrical field, 1st term teachers curse up a storm and dont really help you. Second term teachers just throw a bunch of information at you and expect you to magically understand it. They gave me 200 question tests then got frustrated that I wasn't passing. 1 teacher in particular ''fletcher'' is completely unprofessional. This man was giving me snark remarks and doubted by ability to do anything in the field. Don't even get me started on education. This school seems to be a bit of a sham. The textbooks and tools from the electrical program were the best thing about it for the 2 months I attended. The instructor for theory was a complete dud. Didn't seem to grasp much about theory and kept brushing it off as something we won't need anyway. Couldn't resolve even one problem when it came to combination circuits, unless it was a very simple word problem he made up himself. His idea of a lecture was to read the book like it was story time, skip over the math, and tell us to do review questions while he smoked. On some occasions had us do a lab, but would never check work. After doing the research I withdrew. Glad I only put in 2 months. The book is a great resource and I'll continue to teach myself as I was doing anyway. Hands on is something I get at my job as a maintenence technician. I was looking to supplement my knowledge and beef up my resume but I'll do so somewhere safe and competent. Save yourself the trouble. Don't go. read more

Ong this school is dog water, i went to the electrical program and dam wtf i ain't learn shi, term 1 was literally book work of nothing, the hell am I learning about cells and the nucleus for, when i go to piss, the bathrooms are horrendous, they look abandoned fat gaps in the doors, apparently they got a high lead contamination in the water. When i first got the tour the person sounded more like a salesman rather than someone who is interested in my future. The tour was mid, everything looked terrible like a war torn country, everyone looked miserable. Everyone is miserable, the bald dude lied, bro said we will see him every day, we only saw him like 1 time, they fr hype us up, "oh we'll teach you to be an electrician" hell nah they don't, i was so excited about being there, i told everyone i knew to go, and they ain't come glad they didn't wtf. They sell you this dream, they made the place sound so magical and engaging, teachers don't give af, mfs be smoking, in the bathroom and outside like that's safe, and them tests damn wtf, 100 questions tf is that, everyone uses Quizlet and cheats. But nah residential was wild that mf be yelling so much bro, like let the lord into yo life g, dam, all this dude do is read out 2 books, switching between them randomly, and tellin us to highlight shi, and we can't use it for the test, and bro is a former banger apparently, and be constantly talking about his bedroom life, like bro what, and everyone was lost asf, we got into that stick place, nah i was in there felt like i was in a 3rd word country, mf like what, broke ah equipment, and nah bro there were water leaks there, for days mf, and they turn them breakers on, mf we could've died in that mf oh nah and when we ask to check our lab mf don't even say anything, bro just grades it as is, doesn't even be like look this looks like a mistake, make sure to fix that, like datum it ain't that hard to educate us. So yesterday, my boyfriend had an appointment to take a TOUR of the school & gather more info to see if Pennco was the school for him. Upon arrival, he had to fill out some info on the computer & then a representative met with us. He made the school out to be EVERYTHING he needs. Ensured that he would get a job right after graduation, that they would give him a bunch of resources and stay by his side through his entire career AFTER graduation. He said after the tour & assessment, you can come back and discuss financial aid & to bring your HS diploma. Sounds way too good to be true. While the school seemed like a good place to go, I knew there was something... off?. So after the tour & getting my boyfriends hopes up, he had to take an assessment which was supposed to be kind of like an application to see if he would be accepted to the school. He spent a while perfecting his answers on the assessment. After ward, the Rep that showed us around was like okay im going to show this to the advisor or whatever & see if you're accepted. He literally walked out of the room & walked right back in saying "Congrats!! You're in!!". I was like ??? you didnt even go and check with anyone, from that moment on i was like yeah this is a scam. He then said that theres a $100 fee to hold your spot so you can register & all this crap. I was the one to say no, he's not giving you $100 yet he doesnt know if this is the school for him, he really just wanted a tour, he's exploring his options. He then said ok when you come back for financial aid, bring the $100 and your diploma. He seemed mad that we didn't give him they money like most young people probably would if they planned on going to the school. He basically said see your way out unlike when he warmly greeted us at the beginning. ** DURING THE TOUR*** We walked through the whole "campus" and all of the kids we saw looked freaking miserable. It's a shame because apparently they dont even really set you up with a job afterward, that part is a scam to. So my boyfriend will absolutely not be attending that "school". He was so excited & the guy made it seem like this would be the perfect option for him. WRONG! I'm glad we didn't pay $18000, the $100, take a loan out OR enroll. Total waste of money, they barely teach you anything clinical but will swear you'll have a job before you graduate or right after which is a complete lie. You wont be certified in phlebotomy or EKG's. The ONLY positive is SOME of the staff including the day and night term 1 teachers and the girls in career services. When you go in to speak with one of their "representatives" they'll say pretty much anything to get you to sign up, they're basically car salesmen. If you look around at other Tech schools for the same program you'll notice they're a lot more expensive the Pennco but trust me there's a good reason why this school is the cheapest around. read more

Be careful if you go for a visit to see the school in Blackwood they will try to convince you to get enroll on the school, now when you get there and take the test of admission which is simple questions they will try to convince you that you are an asset to the school and because of the seats are supposedly take out Warning they will ask you for 100 dollars of enrollment to reserve a seat with the false promise if you change your mind that they will give it back to you if you change your mind so guess what after a bunch of lies they take out from you 100 dollars and you ended not enroll it because the tuition is so high for a 13 month program and you lose 100 dollars for the visit there, now there is his guy there his name is Dave be careful with this guy most of them are business men they will try to convince you that you can't afford so be careful if you go for a visit is what they wan it to convince you to enroll and make money en your first visit for 100 dollars that they will never give Back to you they still from you if you are so innocent ! read more

Pennco Tech is not only a waste of your time and money, but is also a dangerous teaching environment with inadequate faculty. While I attended this school, a certified teacher in my field ( HVAC) was let go and substituted with a teacher who had little- to- no knowledge of the field and absolutely no training in academics , this is where I was to get my career training? When this occurred I feared for my education and sought the help of the advisement staff, only to learn that I would never receive any real help. I was directed to multiple different staff members who told me to talk to another person, NEVER ONCE receiving real any help at all. After being shocked with 220 of AC voltage while working in the classroom, I realized that the classroom was not even set up for safe practice. Another student had made a mistake and I received a shock, along with other students in the class. Had the voltage not been spread among so many people, the results could have been fatal. On my first day of school I walked into the bathroom to see a man on drugs, trying to rip his shirt of while screaming. It seemed like he was going crazy. After this incident I became aware of the drug use that was rampant at this school, on more than one occasion I walked by students with needles in their arms sitting in their cars before school. It is not a safe environment. After leaving this school, with one of the better grades from my class I was unable to find any job placement. Pennco Tech advertises that " we place 99% of all graduates" along with the hundred dollar deposit they demand for " the last seat each term", making the student feel they must rush to obtain the money and make a rash judgement as to whether or not to wait another year to attend. By manipulating students into thinking that they will miss "the bus" and their lives will be put on hold they get kids to rashly pay for the schooling. I was not able to find any job in the HVAC field, although I had the correct certifications along with previously having a construction background. At one point I began to find job applications stating "Pennco Tech Students Need Not Apply". I immediately called the school, and they told me that they would secure me a job. It has been over a year since I have graduated from this school and have yet to find a full time, well paying job. After I tell people that I attended Pennco Tech. it seems I am immediately disqualified. This school was a complete disappointment, I did not know I was attending a school that would actually hurt my chances of obtaining a job, and I want others to know this before making the decision to join this school. Please do not, and look in to it more than I did. This school is getting worse, when I left 3 other certified teachers were let go and replaced with uncertified teachers. The prices are rising as well. I am now in debt with no job, this is a SCAM. Please be careful!!!! read more
