I graduated from merit a little over a month ago and loved it! I took the am MA class and graduated with 5 certifications. I looked forward to class and clinical every day. Miss Elle was a fantastic teacher and I don't think class would have been so exciting without her. She never got tired of the millions of questions I asked, and always had faith in us even if we weren't too sure ourselves. She was always so encouraging even when we were terrified of phlebotomy and made sure we were always confident and did our best. By the end of the course we mastered it. The classes are small so you are guaranteed to get the direct focus and help you need and I think that's the best way to learn. We practiced everything on each other so we were able to see what drawing blood on different people is like and also EKG. You get a lot of homework and quizzes/tests but I promise that is a big part of what helps you get by. I wouldn't have retained much information without that. Yes there are a lot of rules and some things can be strict but if you're focused and serious about the class and career it shouldn't be a problem. While there are a lot of rules, the environment is still relaxed if that makes sense. Catherine and Brandi were so helpful as well. They really care and want you to do the best, even after you graduated. They make sure you know what you're doing when it comes to job searching, applications, and interviews.and will even help you find job placement. I was recently offered a job in a local hospital and couldn't wait to pass the good news to Brandi, Catherine, and Elle. I could not have made it without them. I recently completed the course in Medical Coding and Billing at Merit Training Institute. I was laid off from my last retail job of nine years so I made the decision to change careers and go back to school. Going to Merit was the best decision I could have made! Everyone there is absolutely wonderful! Melanie, our receptionist, always there to greet us with a warm hello and a smile. Pat, our teacher, was excellent, she's been in the medical coding business for 30 years and she really knows her stuff! I could not have asked for a better instructor. Tricia, our placement coordinator, was extremely helpful reviewing cover letters, preparing me for interviews and answering any questions I had about prospective employers. Brandi, the school director, is always available to help you with any questions you may have and will give you as many practice tests as you want for the CPC exam. This is not an easy exam to pass but because of her assistance with test taking skills and tips, I passed the CPC on the first try! Within a week after submitting my resume to a few companies, I have a job. The best part about this school, besides the people, is that you will still have access to the facilities and their assistance after graduation and beyond. After my job of 14 years closed its door I made a big decision and decided to go back to school to be a medical assistant. I was pretty scared in my mid 40's to be going back to school but once I got there and realized I was not the oldest or the youngest in the class I became very comfortable. Making the decision to go to the Merit Institute was a no brainer, Brandi was there to answer every question and to help me make the decision to attend the Merit Institute, Catherine was the best teacher, she made the class fun and interesting, and was very informative in everything she taught to help me learn everything I needed to know to pass my certificates. Tricia's help with my resume, and sending out jobs helped me become the medical assistant I am today. I am an old student of Merit. I graduated about 4 years ago from their old location. I just have to say how awesome they are! Catherine was a fantastic teacher, and I have definitely used her knowledge she has taught me in the field in the last 4 years! The hands on learning is especially useful as I have had patient contact on a daily basis. I have been in the orthopedic field the last few years and now I get to take my knowledge with to an opportunity at Cooper Hospital. I was a student here in 2023. I completed the medial billing and coding program. I got all of my certifications once I completed the courses. The courses are self study, but the staff is SO helpful! once I completed the program i got hired at CHOP, once I earned my certifications I got a 40% salary increase! My husbsnd and I are under contract to purchase our first home and close on 10/09/2025. I definitely recommend this schoo! you get in what you put into it, they aren't here to do the work for you, so just be ready to work hard, and it will definitely pay off!! read more

Meritt Institute is a great school. I was apprehensive at first, but in the long run it turned out that they delivered on what was promised. My instructor Mrs. Ocasio was one in a million and she gave her all to make sure that we would finish strong. Attention was given to each and everyone of the students in my class to assured that we come out strong if we follow the process. Her career leads are fire and turns out to be a hundred. I completed the Medical Assistant/Patient Care Tech course last month. I absolutely LOVED this school!! The administrative staff is nice, relatable and so helpful with whatever you need. The instructor for the course, Catherine, is such a great person. She teaches in a way that makes you excited to go to your class every day. Merit institute is a great school for adults with busy lives. It's also very affordable. Catherine, CCMA Instructor, was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable, great at teaching, and HILARIOUS!! I left feeling prepared to workin the medical field. I am now work for a major hospital and the hiring department was very impressed with the knowledge I had to offer. The school was very affordable as well. The only con was they are EXTREMELY specific with time. read more

If you are looking for a quick CCMA/PCT course Merit is the place to go. It was fast paced but the classes are small so its not hard to keep up. Help is always available if needed. Everything is covered during the course to help you pass the certifications. Catherine was my instructor and she was awesome.
