I was painting my sons room and we ran out of paint. Unfortunately, the paint line that we chose is not carried at True Value. The man helping me said that they had the ability to color match and it would be about 99.9% matched. I was super nervous because we were on a time limit (we were surprising our son with a SF Giants bedroom for his birthday). Going to Home Depot in Auburn was not an option since we needed the color to be on the walls that day. I wish I knew the name of the guy who helped me because he was amazing. Although it took some time, he got the color 100% matched. I really appreciated his time and dedication to making sure the color was perfect! WOW... this ACE had an amazing garden area their plants were healthy, no mites and priced perfectly and their lumber yard was full of verighty. I was also amazed at the paint department, so many things to choose from. I will be driving the extra 15 minutes to this store because the customer service wasn't fake, the plants were beautiful and the paint collection was amazing everything about this store was perfect. Very small town friendly store. Everyone is very helpful, great customer service and is always a pleasant experience. Only reason they didn't get a 5 star from me is because there a little pricey and didn't carry everything that would be at a home depo or lowes but they are 30 min of drive time closer so it's convenient. read more

I used to go to this True Value when it was called "Airhill" True Value. It was okay then, but since the new owners took over, this place has REALLY IMPROVED. When I first walked in after the new takeover, I'm like "WHOA!! this place is really organized, bright, clean, and completely stocked! The staff is very helpful and it feels a lot more professional than it did before the new owners took over. The previous owners used to have certain items locked up because of shoplifting. NOT ANYMORE. These new owners make EVERYTHING easy to find and easy to buy. It is so much nicer now!! It is really really nice to have such a well-stocked True Value in Penn Valley. I used to have to drive all the way up highway 20 to buy certain things at the B&C True Value that I could not buy here. NOT ANYMORE!! Bingo! It's at the Penn Valley store now! I love this place!
