Perfect one stop shop for all my outdoor needs! The employees that work on the floor and so helpful each and every time! They always do what they can to help no matter what they make sure to help you find what you need! The prices are pretty comparable maybe slightly more expensive but the conveneience of not having to go into grass valley or yuba city is great! They are always in stock of everything I have never had an issue of them not having what I needed not once! read more

When I first walked in, the lady at the counter did not greet us. We wandered around, looking for everything on our list, and didn't see many staff members to ask for help. We wandered outside, found what we needed, no staff to assist. I think they were a bit understaffed that day. The associate who was running the lumberyard was assisting a customer out front. When he came around back, he greeted us. Helped us get what we need. Ask questions about our project, and ultimately was super friendly and helpful. He gave us lots of advice and recommendations which we appreciated. When I came back in, the lady at the counter seem to be much friendlier. I went from feeling like the customer service wasn't that great, to feeling like a provided good customer service. The convenience factor and customer service for this location is definitely there. They are a small hardware store, but they have a decent election for most of your projects. Grateful to have them for our DIY needs! read more

The best Stihl shop around hands down!! Mechanics are very knowledgeable and helpful. As a tree service company owner I need peace of mind when it comes to my saws. Tony and Ryan are certified by Stihl, and know the saws like the back of their hands. I wouldn't take them to any other shop!! read more

Terrible Stihl repair shop. $80.00 later, new repairmen made it worse, then lied about the possible solutions and cost, just like a car dealer. Then co-worker worked on it and fixed in 3 minutes. I tried to tell management, but they were WOKE and were offended by the criticism. Im told that many new workers are from Hills Flat Lmb. If they are going to treat us like crap, there is always A to Z supply that will treat us like family. read more

I absolutely love this place. Scott is an amazing owner and is always extremely helpful. The staff goes out of their way to make sure that you have everything that you need and are always taken care of. They have a good selection of everything u may need. read more

Not only is this a great local hardware store, Scott (the owner) partnered with Grocery Outlet to put on a Freedom Festival in Lake Wildwood for the benefit of Interfaith Food Ministry and the Food Bank of Nevada County. This kick-off event was well-attended and the band was excellent. The park was full of people enjoying the evening's activities for a good cause....all thanks to True Value Hardware and Grocery Outlet. Maxine Palmer IFM Secretary LWW Resident read more

Kevin , was really sweet when he realized I wanted three of every key on my chain. Not just three of one. Remember to have patience , it's hard to hear what you are saying with a mask on. I was wearing my mask. read more

I purchased a compressor from true value in Penn Valley, and the salesman was very nice. The management was completely unwilling to accommodate me as a customer. The compressor did not perform to specifications, and though there is a 90 days satisfaction guarantee on the box, the company was unwilling to help me. read more

I love the hardware store and usually can get everything I need here, without driving into Grass Valley. Lately its been upsetting to see a young man at the cashier stand, who is wearing his mask under his nose. I've tried to avoid his line. It is a poor reflection on the business to have him serving customers. read more

This place is epic. It's old school with competitive pricing. The service is second to non. I will always start here. I appreciate everyone I've dealt with there in my many recent visits. read more

I was painting my sons room and we ran out of paint. Unfortunately, the paint line that we chose is not carried at True Value. The man helping me said that they had the ability to color match and it would be about 99.9% matched. I was super nervous because we were on a time limit (we were surprising our son with a SF Giants bedroom for his birthday). Going to Home Depot in Auburn was not an option since we needed the color to be on the walls that day. I wish I knew the name of the guy who helped me because he was amazing. Although it took some time, he got the color 100% matched. I really appreciated his time and dedication to making sure the color was perfect! I will definitely be coming back for my hardware & home improvement needs. read more

Great folks to deal with! If you are in there on the weekend like most regular working folks see Richard he's very smart and helpful. If you need something they don't have don't be to shy to ask they can usually get it pretty quick and will price match the big stores. Solid people for sure. read more

This is a great hardware store saves a trip to grass valley or Auburn. But it is not safe when it comes to COVID-19. On a recent visit 95% of the. customers don't wear masks and masks don't seem be required. read more

WOW... this ACE had an amazing garden area their plants were healthy, no mites and priced perfectly and their lumber yard was full of verighty. I was also amazed at the paint department, so many things to choose from. I will be driving the extra 15 minutes to this store because the customer service wasn't fake, the plants were beautiful and the paint collection was amazing everything about this store was perfect. I almost forgot to mention how clean everything was and the store had the air on, it was over 100 degree outside. read more

Awesome staff, fast friendly service in a lovely small town feel!! I would recommend them for ALL your home improvement needs!

Great hardware store, and amazing, helpful staff- but the fencing supply location around the corner is NOT covid safe. Not a single mask in sight, and when I pointed out that the staff weren't wearing masks, the sales person helping me just said "no, we're not" and smiled. We'll be shopping elsewhere in the future. Too bad. read more

It was a Friday morning and I was on my errand run for the day and needed a couple things from the store. Not knowing where anything was I found an employee, Henry, who politely and diligently directed me right to the items I needed and was out of there under 5 minutes running along with my day! The store is very neat and well kept and the customer service is incredible! Thank you for the help Henry you were wonderful! read more

I'm from the Los Angeles area and I'm not used to decent customer service. I was amazed at the service that my sister and I were given by Matthew at Penn Valley True Value hardware. He went out of his way to help us, to show us where the flowers we were looking for were. He showed us where the glue we were looking for was, all the time with an upbeat, joyful attitude that just made you want to smile. Matthew is an asset to this business and I hope that the owner is aware of what an amazing job this young man does. Matthew deserves a 10 star rating! read more

Very small town friendly store. Everyone is very helpful, great customer service and is always a pleasant experience. Only reason they didn't get a 5 star from me is because there a little pricey and didn't carry everything that would be at a home depo or lowes but they are 30 min of drive time closer so it's convenient. read more

Great local hardware store. Well stocked and clean. There's nothing specialized here, but they have all the essentials!

This place is great. Great inventory, good service, nice store, small town atmosphere, which I love, and close to home. The only thing that keeps it from bring a perfect 5 stars is the small town pricing. They're a little high, but worth it to me to not have to make a trip down the hill. I happily patronize the store every week and feel good about doing my part to keep them in business. Well done! read more

I used to go to this True Value when it was called "Airhill" True Value. It was okay then, but since the new owners took over, this place has REALLY IMPROVED. When I first walked in after the new takeover, I'm like "WHOA!! this place is really organized, bright, clean, and completely stocked! The staff is very helpful and it feels a lot more professional than it did before the new owners took over. The previous owners used to have certain items locked up because of shoplifting. NOT ANYMORE. These new owners make EVERYTHING easy to find and easy to buy. It is so much nicer now!! It is really really nice to have such a well-stocked True Value in Penn Valley. I used to have to drive all the way up highway 20 to buy certain things at the B&C True Value that I could not buy here. NOT ANYMORE!! Bingo! It's at the Penn Valley store now! I love this place! Thanks to the new owners, we PennTuckey folks finally have a REAL True Value!! read more

I run a company that helps raise money for charities and I recently had a problem with a generator that we absolutely need to run our business. I ran over to the True Value Fence store and Courtney from the mower shop in the back took time out of his busy schedule to fix my problem and help save the day for our upcoming events. The staff and Courtney just helped my company raise over $5,000 for local charity and took a lot of stress off my shoulders. They earned my business and appreciate the great service! read more
