French fries with random onion rings thrown in.
    Renee P.

Ordered a six-piece fish and four jumbo shrimp combo. Three Catfish and three Orange Roughy, which came with fried and two onion rings. I'm not sure why they threw the onion rings in. The onion rings were decent, but I have had much better. I would never order a full serving of onion rings, but I believe you get one or two with a combo. All of the food was fresh and good.

They keep a large bag on the side cutting each customers fish stealing from you to resell your fish gaining a profit

As usual, they never disappoint. I had friends coming over. I decided to purchase them some fish. I didn't want any. It was Friday. It's my fault. I should not be going in there. I ordered four pieces of fish. Of course they waited and ordered a large fry. they charged me $15 I paid it. I watched them take the fish and start cutting it and I asked them. Why are you cutting it and putting the other extra pieces back into the deli case so we had to start all over again four pieces and a whole different price and he was playing with the scale pretending to put it on a different price. You know how they do it, etc. etc. so I just went ahead and paid for it. There are nothing but a complete rip off Company they barely have any customers. I wish I could support them since they're around the corner from my house, but they refuse to be honest they are very dishonest and who in their right mind would put Fish in a deli case and then keep putting bags and bags of it right in the deli case it makes absolutely no sense. Their ethic of business is unprofessional and complete rip off.

Just arrived. I hope they have filet of sole

Good food and service. The young guys that were working were very friendly. The dish was good and tasty/

    17. Three Piece Fish and Four Piece Jumbo Shrimp

I love when I find a good fried fish spot! I happened to be in the area... super hungry so I decided to give it a try. Located in a small shopping center (next to 7-11). No wait at all. I placed an order (combo 17) which comes with fried fish of your choice (I got red snapper) and shrimp. You can pick your sides I got macaroni salad and fries and each combo comes with 2 hush puppies. The food was amazing a well seasoned. Once I placed my order I waited about 7 minutes and my food was ready! Piping hot and fresh to order. My only small complaint.... I love cocktail sauce with seafood and they mix theirs with hot sauce. I prefer regular cocktail... I will definitely visit again.

    13. Lunch Combo - 2 Pieces Fish (Medium) & 6 Pieces Shrimp

Ayoooo!!' Was craving some old school fish and chips. That is what exactly it is. i ordered the lunch combo of 2 piece fish and shrimps. Comes with Fries and 1 side, i got the Mac Salad. Fish and Shrimp were decent only thing that bothered me were there sauces. packet tartar sauce and some hot sauce / Horseradish sauce. If they had better sauces and offered malt Vin it would elevate the food. Large parking lot, few seats inside and cards are accepted. Come check out this Place

Stopped by with my kids and we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the popular #22 combo, which came with a generous mix of fish, shrimp, oysters, scallops, and classic sides like coleslaw, mac, and potato salad. Everything was hot, crispy, and super flavorful. The portions are big, the service was friendly, and even my little ones loved their fries and onion rings. Great family-owned spot if you're craving a classic fish fry. Definitely worth adding to your seafood list!

This is one of my favorite places to get fish and fries in LA. I came in on 3-22-25 around 8:30pm to get some dinner. I ordered my personal favorite which is the catfish dinner with fries. They are not shy about the abundance of catfish you get per order and it is the same each and every time I order. The staff are very nice and friendly and thankful for your business. It was busy that night with a number of people ordering food so they know how good the place is. You can dine in if you choose but parking can be a challenge. Great place with great food and the late hours are great which they close at 10pm.

one of the few good fish fry places i have been able to find the red snapper was so good i teared up a bit. the restaurant was clean and a good place to dine in, and the service was amazing. i like my fried fish prepared a certain way and the chef answered all the questions i had about how the catfish is prepped. the menu had a good amount of variety as well which i was happy to see. their fried oysters were also delicious, this is the only place i have been able to find good fried oysters at besides boiling crab. i highly recommend this place to anyone who likes fried fish.

Shrimp about the size of a hush puppy. Not what I'm used to from Penguins. Guess it's a sign of the times :(

Been coming here for decades and usually love love love it. This time I ordered a combo fish and shrimp lunch box and was dismayed to find that the shrimp were super small. NOT what I expected from a place I've love for so many years. I should have opened the box just to see since I noticed all new employees . I should have suspected the menu was changed but I didn't expect the shrimps to be so small. I'll go back and see if they still have the jumbo shrimp and let you know. I also noticed the coleslaw tasted different. Not as sweet as before. *Sigh* I have usually been delighted to travel to the city and visit Penguins. This time, not so much.

Apparently, I had booked the raw bar, which only offered a limited menu. When I asked our server why there weren't any entrees, her response felt condescending and dismissive. She simply told us that was the only menu available, accompanied by what felt like a phony smile. I was genuinely confused, and instead of clarifying the dining arrangements, she made me feel uncomfortable for even asking. What frustrated me most was that, as we were leaving, we noticed guests in another section enjoying full entrees! A simple explanation that the dining room offered a different menu, or even an offer to check if we could move, would've completely changed the experience. That's basic hospitality, especially at this price point and for the occasion. On a positive note, the piña colada and strawberry daiquiri were enjoyable, and the oysters and hamachi crudo were good. The presentation was beautiful, and I really liked the restaurant's aesthetic. Unfortunately, we spent nearly $100 on drinks and appetizers, only to leave and find dinner elsewhere for the birthday celebration. I don't mind paying for a good dining experience, but communication and hospitality matter just as much as the food. I really wanted to love this place, but the service left a sour impression. If you're booking through OpenTable, make sure you're reserving the correct dining section.

This place is such a gem! The menu is on point. From the octopus salad to what might be the best Peruvian ceviche I've had since actually being in Peru, and the best part, it's all incredibly fresh and sourced from New Zealand; this place is a must-try. And considering LA prices and the quality and freshness of seafood coming all the way from New Zealand, the price point is actually really great. The service is also amazing. Clark is incredibly knowledgeable about the menu (and just great in general). You can also order platters to go ...they'll prep and shuck everything for you, or provide everything you need to do it yourself, which is my preferred route since I actually love shucking my own. The elderflower came through really strong, so the dish ended up being floral and sweet forward, while I prefer a stronger citrus element in my crudo. 2. STEAK TARTARE: The steak tartare also didn't really impress me. I couldn't help but compare it to Bestia's tartare, which had a richer and more well-rounded flavor. 3. SPICY POMODORO: The spicy pomodoro was good! Pasta was cooked to perfection and it had the right amount of kick. 4. SWEET CORN AGNOLOTTI: The sweet corn agnolotti was the star of the show, undoubtedly. The balance of the corn and the creme fraiche was just so well done, keeping it both sweet and savory. Would definitely recommend this one. 5. GRILLED BRANZINO: I always try to get branzino whenever I see a restaurant has it on their menu, and this one was a fun one. My friend didn't like it, but I actually really enjoyed the delicate flavors. The skin was crispy and so delicious and the spices on it paired well with the cucumber salad underneath, as well as the filling inside the fish. Really well done in my opinion. 6. BANANA PUDDING TIRAMISU: The banana pudding tiramisu was absolutely delicous. SERVICE (5/5): Service was good! AMBIENCE (5/5): I chose to sat at the counter where you could take a peek into the inner workings of the kitchen, but they also have more intimate/romantic seating throughout the restaurant if you want something for date night. PARKING (3/5): Their valet is $12 cash or $14 card, so I opted for street parking. Not too difficult if you don't mind the walk. The area can be a little sketchy at night. TAKEAWAYS: While Cento's mains were good, I felt like their appetizers fell short. If I were to come back I'd definitely get the Sweet Corn Agnolotti, Grilled Branzino, and Banana Pudding Tiramisu again.
