Take the stairwell or elevator to the ground floor to enter the library. Once you're inside, you'll forget you're in a retail plaza. This was my first time here and I noticed large sections for children and teens, a quiet room, a nice selection of foreign films, a whole shelf of Hallmark movies, five big shelves of large print books for those of us with bad eyesight, and a lot of comfy places to sit. You can even check out a tote bag to bring your items home! If you walk by the library on the canal side, you can see in to the cozy reading area where the windows are lined with books. This is a welcoming and well stocked library that I will definitely return to.

I love this library…read more It's such a great location-- right next to the canal for a study break, near cafes for good food and caffeine if you're pulling a full day of studying. The study rooms look out at the canal, providing a beautiful view. There's also a "reading garden" which is a cute little courtyard if patrons want to read or study in the sun. The librarians are all very nice and helpful, of course. I also enjoy participating in the summer reading program, since they have a program for any age group.

(And super close to Pittsford Dairy) I actually passed it initially as it looked more like an office building. I parked on the street but I'm 99% sure there is a lot behind the library. It's spacious, with a large hallway when you walk in displaying many used books for sale, as well as a free shelf. The "bookstore" is self serve with a cash box, and most I saw were priced at $1. Staff was friendly and helped me locate a book for my book club. This is an impressive looking library with 2 floors and big, sunny windows. If I had more time, it would have been a great place to spend an afternoon. I believe there is also an outdoor deck, but doubt that gets much traffic in January!

During my last visit, this branch didn't have the book I was looking for, so the kind clerk offered to order it and have it held at my home branch. There are fun window displays, kids reading challenges, and free craft kits. It's conveniently located to downtown and the east side at Winton Road and Browncroft/Atlantic. Rare within city limits, there is a decently sized parking lot on the right side of the building. A really nice touch is their lovely flower garden surrounding the building! This is a quaint little branch for your library needs.

The store is set up with eye catching displays throughout, with something for everyone to enjoy. There is always someone available at the service desk to help with questions. The cafe has a large amount of seating and makes for a great spot to read or catch up with a friend.

growing up in brighton wasn't like growing up in say jersey or the bay area. i knew very few other…read moreindian people, so my parents would haul me off to functions at the ICC to get my monthly dosage of brownness.... the auditorium was revamped back when i was in high school and the stage is a fun performance venue. alas, they *still* didn't put in seats, so the audience must sit on folding chairs (so you might as well get up and dance on stage). there are a number of other random rooms that serve no other purpose than to give bored children space to ramble around in. there's a large tv (missing some knobs) that probably dates back to the 70s. if you don't get any reception, then kick it *hard* and it should work fine. downstairs there's a "library" that has no books and a random room with a fake bar that children can run around in also. at some point, however, this downstairs was closed off, and i don't know if it ever reopened. there's a great sledding hill right behind the icc, but don't sled there b/c there's a curvy road right at the bottom where crazy indian aunties drive WAY too fast along. there's a lot of wildernessy area all around, so if you don't like the sweets they give you during religious ceremonies (you know, the kind you're not supposed to throw away), then just go walk into the woods and leave it for the animals...God will understand!

Pittsford is a lovely sleepy suburban town in the southeast part of Rochester. It's not miles away from the city of Rochester, as is the case with Victor - but it's also far enough away to be low in crime and leafy and feel extremely Suburban. It's served fairly well by the highway that goes from Rochester to Victor and not too far away from the Thruway Interstate 90. It's a few minutes from Henrietta, with all the great food, but if you want something amazing here in Pittsford then I recommend the Pittsford Dairy which has truly spectacular chocolate milk and ice creams and such. Especially at Christmas time when it's beautiful. Move your underarms towards the camera when entering this town. (Bring your Pittsforward).
