You get the charm of the original building paired with the modern beauty of the Bausch & Lomb structure both are worth seeing. The library offers a ton of programs for kids, teens, and adults. Definitely check their website, because there's so much going on. Becoming a cardholder is easy, and once you are, make sure you look into their VIP section, you can snag free or discounted tickets to local attractions. You can check out physical books, audiobooks, and ebooks, and they're great if you need computer access or printing. They also have plenty of study areas and quiet spots to get work done. Honestly, they offer more than most people realize (myself included until recently!). The only downside is parking and it can be a bit tricky. I'm not sure if they validate or offer any vouchers, so it's worth asking. I was lucky enough to find street parking... but yes, you do have to pay. A great library with so much to offer. Highly recommend exploring everything they provide.

A coloring station, a small play greenhouse to read in, and a "secret room" hidden behind a bookshelf, providing another quiet area to play or read. Protip: best place to nap for maximum comfort and minimal judgement is in Welles-Brown. Underrated bathrooms? 4th floor, religion department, for those that like to take care of their business in peace without having to deal with the gripping fear of auto-flush splashback.

That said, if that's the worst thing about the library, that's pretty damn good. I hadn't been to the Henrietta branch since before they moved into their current building, but was I ever impressed! The new building is spacious and has plenty of seating. There's a big meeting room right by the entrance, where I've early voted, so there's lots of room to spread out. In spite of the collection feeling a little older, you know what's really great? No hold fees! I think we're going to see more and more branches do away with hold fees in the future, which helps make reserving materials that much easier. I have found some hidden gems sprinkled throughout the shelves. I think the key here is that the library can only do so much work for you, you have to also put in the effort to find what you never realized you wanted in the first place. I've found a bunch of random books this way. Being a larger branch in a town the size that Henrietta is, the library has good hours, including on Saturdays. I get why some branches are hardly ever open, having some weekend availability is just a nice bonus. I'm glad the town of Henrietta has a library like the one they have. I'll definitely be back (being the library hopper that I am, this was a given). Now if only I could reach the book drop from my car without straining my arms!

The first floor is one of the best places a parent can bring their child. I've never seen a whole floor dedicated to children before!! Most other libraries just have a small section and feel darker and older. There's story time at 10 am everyday. There's a lot of toys and books for toddlers and babies to wear out their energy for an hour or so. The upstairs section is also very nice for adults with a room to rent and also plenty of shelves. Staff are nice and there's a little book store selling hard copies for 1$ and soft cover for 0.25. I tend to buy those for vacations so I won't feel bad losing a book. The bright modern interior also makes one want to stay here and read or spend a day. The books are all in really condition too. Very few old musty books. The library is also right by the park with a large playground and field My only thing I dont love is that the adult section books are organized in a confusing way. I usually reserve books online bc browsing for a specific author may not be intuitive since the shelves have mystery, fiction, romance, etc designations.

I love this library…read more It's such a great location-- right next to the canal for a study break, near cafes for good food and caffeine if you're pulling a full day of studying. The study rooms look out at the canal, providing a beautiful view. There's also a "reading garden" which is a cute little courtyard if patrons want to read or study in the sun. The librarians are all very nice and helpful, of course. I also enjoy participating in the summer reading program, since they have a program for any age group.

(And super close to Pittsford Dairy) I actually passed it initially as it looked more like an office building. I parked on the street but I'm 99% sure there is a lot behind the library. It's spacious, with a large hallway when you walk in displaying many used books for sale, as well as a free shelf. The "bookstore" is self serve with a cash box, and most I saw were priced at $1. Staff was friendly and helped me locate a book for my book club. This is an impressive looking library with 2 floors and big, sunny windows. If I had more time, it would have been a great place to spend an afternoon. I believe there is also an outdoor deck, but doubt that gets much traffic in January!

No problem, I'll just pop in. It was very easy to find the new games section and so I was in and out in a minute. I hope I don't have to keep driving to the various branches for items on the shelves (this is maybe only a problem with new media? Games and DVDS/Blurays), but it's also good to explore the libraries around here.

Take the stairwell or elevator to the ground floor to enter the library. Once you're inside, you'll forget you're in a retail plaza. This was my first time here and I noticed large sections for children and teens, a quiet room, a nice selection of foreign films, a whole shelf of Hallmark movies, five big shelves of large print books for those of us with bad eyesight, and a lot of comfy places to sit. You can even check out a tote bag to bring your items home! If you walk by the library on the canal side, you can see in to the cozy reading area where the windows are lined with books. This is a welcoming and well stocked library that I will definitely return to.

They have many sensory toys, with a 2 story treehouse that has a ball machine built in. Kids (and adults) can place balls into air ducts, which shoot up to second story and then they can subsequently place them on rails to roll them back down again. They also have a mini market with plastic produce (much like the mini-Wegman's at Strong Museum of Play). I'm not a Greece resident, but I'll be back here soon.

There is a teen section, a "take a book, leave a book" shelf, a mini food pantry for those in need, and even a huge rack of Hallmark movies. All the basics like computers with internet access. They have a good selection of audio books, but I'd prefer if they were organized by fiction and non-fiction. Due to its smaller size, it may not be the best place for quiet study. But they make the most of the space with lots of materials, a helpful staff, and a homey atmosphere.
