Extremely disappointed in Penelope Pots and Jackie. I purchased a plant from them 2 weeks ago. Mind you, my apartment is filled with plants so I'm not a newbie when it comes to plants and keeping them healthy and alive. Well, when I brought home this particular plant from Penelope Pots, it immediately died. Like immediately. The soil was still wet so I did not water it when I got home. Once I thought the soil was ready to be watered, I stuck my finger in 2 inches to check the soil and it was dry so it was ready to be watered. The plant was already not looking great but I hoped the water would help. Boy, was I wrong. Not only did the plant continue to die, it basically rot. I didn't have time to bring the plant back into the shop sooner. I brought it back exactly 2 weeks after purchasing it. When I walked into the store to return or exchange, the first woman looked at me like I killed the plant and said "what did you do?!" I told her the situation and how I only watered it once and only had it 2 weeks and it died immediately. She shook her head and said "oh you overwatered it. The soil is soaked". I told her I had not watered it since last week. She then proceeded to accuse me of not taking care of it and that "many customers don't know how to care for plants after bringing them home". I was shocked. I told her how my apartment is filled with plants but this was the only one that died. I also told her I did not overwater it and that I waited for the soil to dry to water. She then says that she needs to speak to Jackie. Jackie asks me what happened. I explained the situation again. Get this, she tells me I UNDERWATERED it! I replied, "she just told me I overwatered it, now you're telling me I underwatered it?!" Jackie went on to say that when the plants are in the shop, they get watered every single day. And that when I brought it home, it was clearly neglected and did not get enough water. You can ask ANY plant expert, and they will tell you that plants should not be watered until the soil is dry 2 inches below the surface. I asked for a refund or to exchange my plant for a new one, and she offered to give me 50% off a new plant. Again, shocked. Why would I want to pay more money for another plant when the one I purchased from them died immediately?? She refused to give me a full refund ($12!!) and would not exchange the plant without having me pay. I left the store very disappointed and could not believe their customer service. Not only was I blamed for killing the plant, I was told two different reasons it died - overwatered then underwatered! Jackie should stick to flowers and stay away from plants. I doubt I'm the first one to have their plant die after bringing it home. Tip for Jackie: watering your plants every day will give them root rot which is clearly what happened to mine before I even brought it home. read more

We hired Jackie and Penelope Pots for the florals at our wedding, and let me just say WOW! I was blown away and overwhelmed with emotions because Jackie and her team NAILED my vision. Penelope Pots was my decor - candles and flowers. That was it. I knew Jackie understood my vision once I communicated that with her, but I still cannot believe how beautiful it was in person. ALL of my guests described our wedding as "stunning" and "elegant" and that was due primarily to Jackie and her team. Not only that, but she was also the kindest and most patient of the people I spoke with on the phone. She used an online proposal tool that many florists used. It was helpful because you can make payments and sign contracts through that site. You can also look back and see what elements you decided on (how many bouquets, corsages, center pieces, etc.). Literally, Jackie miller is in this just to take your money. I filled out the "wedding questionnaire" on line and called her after to see if I can get an appointment. She was so happy and excited and 100% on my wedding day. I told her that I literally only needed a bouquet. She immediately changed her tone and got really shitty with me. She had a HORRIBLE attitude and literally said "oh are you eloping or something?" I then snapped back and said "no, I'm actually getting married in a chapel". She said that she would "look over my questionnaire" and see what "she could do". I got off the phone and absolutely couldn't believe it. Was very excited to splurge and purchase a new plant baby. I purchased a Tricolor Stromanthe through delivery and received my plant baby with multiple burned and broken leaves. Was very disappointed because the quality of product when visiting the store verses what I received was much different. Shame on me for trusting and assuming delivery would be better than going in person or doing store pick up. Unfortunately, it took the store a week to respond to my inquiry and store policy doesn't allow for quality control once items are delivered. But hey they did ask me to let them know "if I was interested in a few tips to help bring my plant back to a better condition!" Got a response back after receiving a sad plant. When we first reached out to Jackie and had a chance to view her work from a wide variety of weddings and events that she had worked her magic for, we instantly fell in love with the pictures that we came across. There was ZERO doubt in our minds that her style would complement ours to a "T"! And that she did! The entire process, from the moment we contacted her and sent her more pictures than her email account could possibly handle to the Walkthrough that she attended with us in which she made sure to ease our nerves, and eventually, the Big Day itself, Jackie was nothing short of flawless, through and through. Her accommodating and highly flexible demeanor, peppered in with her natural-born zest to decorate and illuminate a venue, proved to be exactly what we wanted all along! We could not imagine having had a more beautifully styled Ceremony, Cocktail Hour AND Reception! Jackie was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process, offering her own suggestions and professional feedback based on the wedding theme that we described to her; not only that, but she even recommended votive and centerpiece vessels for us to shop for that would harmoniously embellish the flowers we ended up going with! If and when we had trouble locating such pieces, Jackie offered to search for them herself and notify us of their whereabouts! Does it get any better than that? Actually, it does. She even brought votives and vessels with her on the day of the Walkthrough to serve as a mock-up for us to see in-person, ultimately putting to rest any uncertainties we had whatsoever!! Even when we had last-minute "inspirations" and changes to our floral theme, Jackie accommodated those with the most amazing turnaround time and showed us, time and time again, that there was NO REASON TO WORRY!! Lastly, but surely not leastly, when my father passed away only a month and a half prior to our wedding date and our entire world turned upside down with the most crushing blow that could have ever been dealt our way, Jackie rose to the occasion in an inexplicably compassionate way, exhibiting empathy and grace the way only she can. She created the most elegant and exquisite "Memorial Floral Arrangement", which she draped over a special Ceremony chair, dedicated to my late father. As insurmountably difficult as it was to go through that day without my rock and comfort there, Jackie filled a portion of the void with her clutch performance and her ability to commemorate the man who brought me this far in my life. On our Big Day, Jackie's work seemed so effortless, given her composed disposition, her naturally joyous nature and her ability to ensure that all the "little things" were taken care of well ahead of the Ceremony start-time. We were not only wowed by her final product, we were actually stunned!! In the best way possible! It would be the understatement of the century to say that we simply "recommend" Jackie for weddings and events, so let's just say, no celebration or party would be complete without having Jackie infuse her ingenious, artistic touch to it.
