We went as far as Lake Athens to the Athens Boathouse Bar and Grill (which we knew was closed), to check out the location. We tooled around Athens just enjoying the Sunday. Having been to the Fisheries and the Botanical Garden before, we were looking for a different place to stop. A quiet offbeat place with food and sweet treats was what I had in mind. Callaways Coffee and Bistro popped up as a little house with adorable photos and lovely reviews and off we went. It was perfect. They have REAL FOOD here. I tried to reproduce the menu, but seriously they have pages of breakfast, salads and sandwiches. And COFFEE, of course. I had this amazing 100% Angus patty Cheeseburger - an enormous perfectly cooked patty. ($9.95) My husband ordered the Ragun Cajun, a spicy Chicken breast on ciabatta that he loved. ($9.95) They still had pie, blondies, cookies and assorted yummy sweet treats under glass. I had the Buttermilk pie with a Tender crust and totally delicious filling! ($2.75) Our server was a terrific young man; personable, helpful and a good cook! We had a good time. The bathroom is Unisex and clean. There is plenty of seating. We sat at a regular dining table, but there are plenty of tables for two or three in addition to chairs and sofas. Most parking is street side. I'm looking forward to coming back!

Was planning to taking it to go but ended up finding this cozy seat in the corner and play a quick game of Jumbling Tower. It's a bit of a drive from where we escape too but it's worth the drive and will more than likely be coming here.

Since I'm disabled, it would be a easier for me. Ed was taking my info & informed me that I would have need to circle & pull back to the speaker. I said there is NO ONE here. So we pulled up to the window & just wanted our money back. By this point, things had gotten heated and she said she can't do that in the drive thru. I pulled in and as soon as we walked in, we were met with such venom from Casey. I told her that this customer service is why people were using the local places. The first thing out of her mouth was that Treehouse serves coffee. I proceeded to the cash register & as I was trying to get a refund, Casey continued her tirade. I told her multiple times I didn't want to talk to her to defuse the situation. She just kept right on doing it. I spoke with Alex Briones, the store manager that afternoon & he was very apologetic. He had spoke to corporate about the situation. They wound up giving us our drink order today for free. What I don't understand is that no one even acknowledges customers when they walk in. It was like such an unfriendly vibe. The manager said that he was sent from corporate for the way the "associates" were running the business. Casey & Ed were both in and neither even apologized. There was also problems with the refund.

This was my second day giving them a chance. Yesterday's drink was okay, but it was 80% ice. Today, I ordered the Golden Eagle again and specifically asked for lighter ice, hoping for a better balance. What I got instead was a medium cup drowned in milk. The moment I saw it, I was already frustrated and said, "Why is it so white?" One sip confirmed it -- pure milk, no coffee flavor at all. Completely undrinkable. I was sitting on the passenger side, and if I had seen it sooner, I would have absolutely asked for it to be remade. I don't care if the cup is filled to the top -- I care about the quality of an iced coffee latte, which this location seriously lacks. To make it worse, I ordered two drinks, because my boyfriend liked mine from yesterday and didn't get one then. Both drinks went to waste -- money thrown away. If I end up coming back before leaving town, I will be bringing this up and asking for my drink to be remade. To whoever owns or manages this location: please take note and do better. This experience was extremely disappointing.
