Overall, the tint job Pelicar did on my 2019 Volkswagen Golf R was acceptable. I sought installation of a ceramic, legal VLT tint. They upsold me to 3M's crystalline tint film line, which I am actually happy about: I was already preparing to pay a pretty penny for a durable film with good UV and IR (i.e. heat) rejection properties, and the crystalline has superior IR rejection to ceramic film's already quite-good qualities. What brings down are the general service experience and workmanship. Three problems arose: one window began to peel at the bottom, they broke a few trim clips, they did not use the film I chose on the front triangles of my car, they tried to pass off a scratch in one of the films they installed as a "bubble" (which are normal after tint installations and eventually evaporate out). For the money it costs for them to do an all-around tint installation, I expected to have the same film used on every window panel (even the small front triangle panes, which not every shop will do, but I called beforehand specifically to ask if they would do these, and they said yes), for them to own up to any damage/accidents/errors made, instead of denying they made a mistake and trying to push me out the door. I understand no aftermarket work can ever be perfect, but there are shops who take pride in their work and care about integrity, which I felt was not the case at Pelicar. read more

Update: After my first visit, my driver side window tint started to peel. They offer lifetime warranty so I brought it back and they fixed it for me. They said it was due to my car being a coupe that it messed up. Fast forward 1 month later, tint starts to peel again and I was having issues with my window motor. Went to get it checked with my dealer and they told me tint got ripped and stuck in it which caused lot of issues with my window sliding. Had to pay for that to be fixed. Decided to go to a new place to redo my tints and they told me when they measured it that it was 47% which is ridiculous because I asked for 30% all around. Never recommending this place again. read more

Please do not take your vehicle to this location. You be saving yourself money, time and a big headache. They do a shitty job. I went in with my new Tesla Model Y to get my front windshield tint replace because it was damaged by a local car wash. They replace the front tint with a damage tint, and their finger prints all over my upholstery. I didn't see that until I arrived home. Then I gave them an opportunity to make this right which they apologized after I return to fix the problem. They went ahead and replaced the damaged tint that they originally installed and lo and behold when they were done with the work, they had the audacity to say, sir so you know the tint may have defect but most likely is just bubbles and you need to let it dry. It was obvious that it was already defected. They said that their machine when it cuts the tint can cause the defect on the tint. I said to them why would you have a machine that will cause a defect on the tint and damage it. I'm not paying for a damage tint. They didn't offer a discount or credit me back and amount to make things right. read more

This is a tough one to write because my experience has been nothing but pleasant while I visited here. The operating staff here are extremely friendly and provide quality work. I'll start with saying that I know sometimes people slip through the cracks In high volume businesses and if you read between the lines on most of these reviews, You can see that's exactly what has happened. My experiences with Pelicar are bit different. Not because of the quality of work. ( my Jeep speaks for itself) Unfortunately, because the owner who seems to be involved in some transactions had a bit of greed that shines through. It seems to be more important than keeping new customers. I found out today that Pelicar does not appreciate customer loyalty. I've visited these guys 3 times. August 2020 First time, was Awsome, I had some ideas on what I wanted to do to my 2020 Rubicon, I was greeted and handle with professionalism from the floor manager. He took my Jeep in and did some great work! Definitely earned my business. And I'll say for scope of work I was charged accordingly. Fall 2020 Second time, the initial time in was great. Brought my friend in with his Lincoln MKZ, we had chat with the floor manager and they set up an appointment to have his car done. It's the aftermath that shows my complaint. After my friend had his fronts tinted, based what he was told at the time of installation. He chose a high end tint (Chrystal line) it came out great. What he wasn't told is that in certain temperatures and due to it polarizing, it would change colors. Well anyone that knows this effect matched up with black tint from the factory, it looks terrible in those weather conditions. We returned 2 days later and he expressed his concerns and the floor manager was welcoming to taking the tint off and changing it to a standard 3m. ( no charge because of the price for the Chrystal line to begin with) It was the owner who chose to not allow it to happen. He wanted an extra $100 for the work. Kind of scummy considering the up sale initially. Held over a barrel my friend ended up paying the money to have his car look normal. April 2021 Third time, today was the day to have a visit with our 2021 Durango R/T. I roll in at noon to chat with the floor manager about the ideas I have for the family car. We talk about the ideas and we are a go. He tells me let me grab some pricing. He comes back and tells me they are going good will a discount based on my friends mis hap and over paying. So? I reap the benefit of the owners greed in good faith? My friend deserved that! The pricing to start prior to said discount was double the price I had paid for my Jeep. So... I negotiate, and remind him of what I paid the first time around. Ok, I understand cost of goods, time, and the industry change in a short 8 months. I suggest a price that's fair for the work that is almost 20% more than what I paid for the Rubicon. Mind you the scope of work is the same. A bit more in material (spray paint) and time (slightly different masking job). Owner says No! Worst part about this, as I left the business the owner made eye contact over our masks and let me leave. A real kick in the butt! Thanks Mr Owner for loosing my business. 1 in, 1 out! I understand. Does an okay job. Unfortunately they unbuckled my 2.5 year old car seat and never buckled it back in. I found this out after a 2 hour drive during a rainstorm. Needless to say because of a such high volume place details are forgotten. Also gave me some one else's car keys back and gave me a call 15 minutes away had to drive back and found mine on the outside of my hood easily could have flown off while driving. A clear example of an organization focused on quantity over quality, and one to avoid for any automotive work. I went to Pelicar to have 3M Crystalline installed on my front windshield and front side windows, and even after weeks of curing, there were clear scratches, dust, and hazing on the film. Pelicar also left the interior of my car muddy, and even scratched the gloss black interior trim. After expressing these concerns, Pelicar agreed to reinstall the film, which resulted in the same scratched, bubbled, and dusty film. Ultimately, I had the film installed at another 3M certified installer, which came out nearly perfect the first time. Pelicar will only refund the arbitrarily-priced material cost, so in the end, Pelicar only proved themselves as a waste of time and resources. read more

I went to them because of the good review on Google. Let me tell you, they are not about quality but quantity. They messed up all my windows and didn't feel like they should fix them at first until I told them where all the mistake was. Even so, they didn't want to do all the messed up windows. They agreed to at least fix the worse ones. Still not perfect but better. For almost 600 plus tips you think they would fix it all for you. They just say it's not in danger of my view. That's funny but it's annoying to look at lint, dust bubbles, and wrinkle marks/scratches that's caused by bad application. I understand they can't avoid all dust and bubbles but scratch mark is a no! no! They even told me if they fix my rear window they might ruin the defroster thing. Ok?? And you're the professional? The worker didn't even clean up the mess, there was soapy water everywhere and the window was kept dirty!! There's also sticky looking thing that's under the tint they called watermarks. That will go away in 30 somewhat days. They say. Now I'm scared to go back. 30 years in business but doesn't mean all the worker there has experience. I'm giving them two stars because the receptionists was nice and they did try to fix some of the problems. Hopefully after all this they'll at least clean up your window. I reached out to multiple places to install window tint. Pelicar replied back in minutes and gave me a estimate of my vehicle for the information I provided for them. They worked around my schedule and allowed me to come in the next day. I arrived and was kindly greeted. The staff were all polite and respectful towards me and my vehicle. I was out in just over an hour. I couldn't believe it!! Another place stayed they would need my vehicle for the whole day and wanted $150 more. Great tint shop, I got my Acura TLX tinted so quickly! The service was great, very professional, and most importantly I'm very satisfied with how the car came out. Great environment, the guys were very friendly and pleasant to work with. I would definitely recommend this tint shop to anyone looking for tints, because of the way these guys work. The lady will just try and sell u the 600 dollar tint the whole time. I hated the way my tint looked then went back to fix to make it darker a few days later and the lady said it was gonna cost the same price. Luckily one of the guys in there heard it and only charged me 60 bucks opposed to 300. Also have a bubble on my passenger side read more
