I went back to redeem the free birthday chicken. However, things have changed with the deal. But first let me say that when my friend and I entered no one was there and it was empty. If someone came in and started serving themselves no one would be around to stop them. I even called to see if someone would come out to pick up the phone and see us sitting there. But nope! It was around lunch time too. Anyways, someone finally came around and apologized and I guess she was in the back or basement or somewhere that wasn't where we were. Very bad service! She couldn't really speak English, so it was hard communicating. We had to point to stuff off the menu. Anyways, I asked if I could order the birthday chicken. She said yes, and checked my ID and told us that there's a new rule where it's half a chicken now. That's what we got and some drinks and fries. If it wasn't for the deals that they have, I wouldn't be back.

Ate here today with my family for lunch to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had definitely got a side order of fried food dishes and whole fried chicken (Level 2 only) to share and eat that it had tasted really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive and delicious. We couldn't agree more about it. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

I am a huge fan of Pelicana's birthday chicken promotion. A free whole fried chicken on your birthday is an amazing meal to share with friends. I've been to this location twice for a friend's birthday and was glad it wasn't too packed this time around. The service was great and the food was plentiful. We got the fried chicken with two types of sauces, garlic dry rub and a garlic sauce. I enjoyed the sauce version much better as the powder was too strong for my taste. We also tried their bulgogi nachos, which were huge for sharing. We were pleasantly surprised at how good they were. Lastly, we ordered the Korean rice cakes with ramen, which was pretty standard. I hope Pelicana continues to offer this promotion as it is a great marketing technique to get us here every year.

We came to Pelicana for our Best Friend's Birthday last November & absolutely loved the place. Conveniently located near multiple other restaurants, Liquor stores, & Karaoke bars! This establishment is BYOB which is also a bonus! My husband & I just returned here on Tuesday, 04/08/25. My husband got the spicy chicken sandwich which he enjoyed very much. Then we shared a combo platter of chicken which came with plenty of sides! The staff was also super friendly & very accommodating! We absolutely love this place & wish there was one closer to where we currently live!

    Time to celebrate Valentine's day

The vibe is cute and intimate. Good for a small group of friends, a date spot, and a nice place to grab a drink with food options. So the music when I went in yesterday evening was R&B some throwback's to the 90's, Drake, Rihanna, and Jeremih. Not bad. Back to the meal at hand, I had ordered the Camembert cheese flavored fries, and I loved it. Yes it's messy, but you get towelettes. They were so addictive. When I checked in on Yelp, they offered one order of fries for free. I have to say the service was impeccable, and we had an awesome time. Ok another highlight, I was really enjoying my friend's drink, the dragon fruit one with yogurt in it...which is super sweet and memorably fantastic. I had the white sangria with peach schnapps which was strong and had great flavor. My friend ordered a lemonade, and it was a beautiful deep blue color. I enjoyed our time here. Some of my friends found the soy sauce garlic chicken wings were a bit overdone, but I was so hungry that I hadn't noticed and ate them crazily...they were okay. There was a ton of people at this location in spite of the single digit degree temperature. Maybe Valentine's celebrations? Or maybe that is how good the food was! I would definitely try it again.

Omg chicken madness!! It is soo good! Eat it while its hot! Location: It is located in LIC. There is few seatings inside. Service: I ordered to go, but he seem nice when I asked for the free soda! Food: I ordered ORIGINAL FRIED CHICKEN and it was so good! The skin is crispy just the perfect crispiness and the inside is moist! Definitely one of the best fried chicken i have! Price rating: 6/10, it was not bad. Well i went here twice for a week! So I will definitely come back for sure! Chicken was the best!

Came here for dinner. We ordered the half soy garlic and half spicy wings (20 wings) and Bacon cheese fries (L). Servers were friendly and accommodating. We were really looking forward to ordering the Honey Beer but the server said they couldn't serve alcohol because of restaurant's licensing issue. Food was okay. The wings were not as crispy as other Korean fried chicken places. Flavor was okay. Bacon cheese fries were soggy. Would probably not order again. Overall: I would only come back for the honey beer and maybe give the wings another chance.

I came here Dec 2nd for the Star Rail Collab. It was a terrible event. I came half an hour early but still had to stand outside for 5 hours. For some reason management only had 300 available stands but allowed 800 people to reserve a spot that they didn't even bother checking. This made a LOT of people not get what they wanted even though we specifically came to this one Pelicana spot because they offered the stands here. They're restocking a few supplies everyday for the rest of December but they really couldn't have told us that earlier or even open the business earlier because of how crazy the line was? It would have made the lines so much more efficient. I also forgot to do the Instagram thing to get the badge but that's more on me than anything else. But I really would've appreciated if one of the employees would've said anything. I don't even remember what the food tasted like, I was literally too depressed

I visited this restaurant during their birthday promotion. On your birthday you get a whole chicken and you can add any sauce to it. I especially liked their chicken with the spicy sauce. I felt that just the chicken was dry. Whole chicken was already filling us, so we only got some fries and budae jiggae only. Budae jiggae was good. We also recieved some free beers to try. They were trying out some new beers so we were asked to review on it.

Soy garlic & crispy fried chicken
    Sylvia B.

Ordered the boneless soy garlic chicken and the crispy fried chicken. Honestly both were disappointing... the soy garlic boneless chicken was kind of hard to chew and the crispy chicken with bones were small and didn't have much meat. Also the fried gizzard were disappointing as well... they were tasteless. And I took a couple bites of the scallion and something tasted funky. I looked it it again and the onion looked slimy...its def old

Mild and spicy soy garlic chicken Bacon and cheese fries
    Christine R.

Went to pelicana chicken last night. Had the 20 piece mild and spicy soy garlic fried chicken with bacon and cheese fries. The chicken was tasty but I wouldn't get the fries again. It was overall a good experience however a little disappointed alcohol wasn't served (currently going through renewal apparently). Will have to visit again another time.

Had a smattering of apps along with some soju, and it was a good time. Food was good but it was more the authenticity and casual good vibes that boost the rating up. The banchan was solid, nothing exceptional, and for $4 was a bit steep. The chicken was also similar, good but nothing standout. The spicy rice cakes though were really good. Only complaint is that it was pretty lacking on rice cakes - it was half fish cake (which tbh I prefer but maybe not everyone does). I can tell the food quality is good though, so I'd be eager to try more of their signature dishes, such as the Bulgogi. Definitely worth a shot if you're in Astoria craving Korean food!

Turns out I did not need the additional sides of rice and of Kimchi as far as amount of food goes, however I think I liked the flavor and "kick" of the side of Kimchi over the Kimchi that was in the Ban Chan..... The food was pretty good! As I mentioned it came via door dash and the dasher was on a scooter and it was a few miles away so by the time it got to me it was only warm and not hot but that isn't really something the restaurant can do anything about. However I did ask for utensils to be included and I think that is something the restaurant has control over and I didn't get any utensils so there is that....

The place is quaint, small enough for 4-person groups or date nights, but not made for large parties. It's the kind of casual spot perfect for a random drop in or a takeout order. The menu range is impressive. The food skews from pocha style pub food to Korean Chinese to traditional classics that shouldn't be missed. There are lunch specials and combinations, along with random misspellings ("bahn mi", "buger" etc.) that have become commonplace with many of these menus. The Korean fried chicken (soy garlic) is an easy go-to as is the bulgolgi burger, which is a pricey guilty pleasure. I appreciate their inclusion of (various!) jajangmyeon and tangsoo yuk, both famous from their Korean Chinese roots. Though the portions could be more substantial, I dig their jiggae lineup of kimchi, seafood, and budaejiggae. They've also got pajun, mansion, ramyun and naengmyeon as well. The variety is definitely in point. Service has been solid during all of my experiences. What arrived was a half-cup of what I can only describe as lightly flavored hot water, bravely tinted to resemble broth. No vegetables, no texture, no effort--just a cloudy liquid that seemed to apologize for its own existence. Then came the main course, which somehow managed to lower expectations even further. The beef--if that's what it was--had the remarkable quality of tasting like absolutely nothing. Not bad, not good... just absent. It's almost impressive how something can be cooked, plated, and served while completely avoiding flavor. The side dishes? Minimal. The sauce? A tiny smear, presumably symbolic. You get a masterclass in how to charge restaurant prices for cafeteria-level disappointment. This isn't just a place I won't return to--I'd actively warn friends to steer clear unless they're curious what culinary emptiness feels like.
