Ok. First the atmosphere is great. You can be loud and laugh without having to worry that you'll offend someone. Ordered truffle oil fries and they were basic. No seasoning on these fries. Next time I'll get the other flavors they offer. Calamari was bland. Lemon helps. Mozzarella sticks were just that. Cheese pull was not on point. Soy garlic wings were very good. Their wings were very good. Service was ok. I'd good back to try other dishes as they have a large menu.
Ate here today with my family for lunch to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had definitely got a side order of fried food dishes and whole fried chicken (Level 2 only) to share and eat that it had tasted really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive and delicious. We couldn't agree more about it. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.
I am a huge fan of Pelicana's birthday chicken promotion. A free whole fried chicken on your birthday is an amazing meal to share with friends. I've been to this location twice for a friend's birthday and was glad it wasn't too packed this time around. The service was great and the food was plentiful. We got the fried chicken with two types of sauces, garlic dry rub and a garlic sauce. I enjoyed the sauce version much better as the powder was too strong for my taste. We also tried their bulgogi nachos, which were huge for sharing. We were pleasantly surprised at how good they were. Lastly, we ordered the Korean rice cakes with ramen, which was pretty standard. I hope Pelicana continues to offer this promotion as it is a great marketing technique to get us here every year.
We came to Pelicana for our Best Friend's Birthday last November & absolutely loved the place. Conveniently located near multiple other restaurants, Liquor stores, & Karaoke bars! This establishment is BYOB which is also a bonus! My husband & I just returned here on Tuesday, 04/08/25. My husband got the spicy chicken sandwich which he enjoyed very much. Then we shared a combo platter of chicken which came with plenty of sides! The staff was also super friendly & very accommodating! We absolutely love this place & wish there was one closer to where we currently live!

The vibe is cute and intimate. Good for a small group of friends, a date spot, and a nice place to grab a drink with food options. So the music when I went in yesterday evening was R&B some throwback's to the 90's, Drake, Rihanna, and Jeremih. Not bad. Back to the meal at hand, I had ordered the Camembert cheese flavored fries, and I loved it. Yes it's messy, but you get towelettes. They were so addictive. When I checked in on Yelp, they offered one order of fries for free. I have to say the service was impeccable, and we had an awesome time. Ok another highlight, I was really enjoying my friend's drink, the dragon fruit one with yogurt in it...which is super sweet and memorably fantastic. I had the white sangria with peach schnapps which was strong and had great flavor. My friend ordered a lemonade, and it was a beautiful deep blue color. I enjoyed our time here. Some of my friends found the soy sauce garlic chicken wings were a bit overdone, but I was so hungry that I hadn't noticed and ate them crazily...they were okay. There was a ton of people at this location in spite of the single digit degree temperature. Maybe Valentine's celebrations? Or maybe that is how good the food was! I would definitely try it again.

Food: I ordered ORIGINAL FRIED CHICKEN and it was so good! The skin is crispy just the perfect crispiness and the inside is moist! Definitely one of the best fried chicken i have! Came here for dinner. We ordered the half soy garlic and half spicy wings (20 wings) and Bacon cheese fries (L). Servers were friendly and accommodating. We were really looking forward to ordering the Honey Beer but the server said they couldn't serve alcohol because of restaurant's licensing issue. Food was okay. The wings were not as crispy as other Korean fried chicken places. Flavor was okay. Bacon cheese fries were soggy. Would probably not order again. Overall: I would only come back for the honey beer and maybe give the wings another chance.
My daughter went to your establishment for an anime pop up. She surprised me with a box of your chicken omg! So crunchy and well seasoned!!! Super delicious . I even had the last 2 pieces of chicken for breakfast lol. I am looking g forward to returning to pelicana.
I visited this restaurant during their birthday promotion. On your birthday you get a whole chicken and you can add any sauce to it. I especially liked their chicken with the spicy sauce. I felt that just the chicken was dry. Whole chicken was already filling us, so we only got some fries and budae jiggae only. Budae jiggae was good. We also recieved some free beers to try. They were trying out some new beers so we were asked to review on it.
I came here Dec 2nd for the Star Rail Collab. It was a terrible event. I came half an hour early but still had to stand outside for 5 hours. For some reason management only had 300 available stands but allowed 800 people to reserve a spot that they didn't even bother checking. This made a LOT of people not get what they wanted even though we specifically came to this one Pelicana spot because they offered the stands here. They're restocking a few supplies everyday for the rest of December but they really couldn't have told us that earlier or even open the business earlier because of how crazy the line was? It would have made the lines so much more efficient. I also forgot to do the Instagram thing to get the badge but that's more on me than anything else. But I really would've appreciated if one of the employees would've said anything. I don't even remember what the food tasted like, I was literally too depressed
Ordered the boneless soy garlic chicken and the crispy fried chicken. Honestly both were disappointing... the soy garlic boneless chicken was kind of hard to chew and the crispy chicken with bones were small and didn't have much meat. Also the fried gizzard were disappointing as well... they were tasteless. And I took a couple bites of the scallion and something tasted funky. I looked it it again and the onion looked slimy...its def old
The one thing Sunnyside is lacking is a place to get a really good salad....well fellow salad addicts look no further than Pelicana Chicken. I have been addicted to their salads for several years, I normally order the shrimp salad but today I ordered the grilled chicken and avocado. The portion size is great, I especially love how the chef thinly slices the green n red peppers (I loathe thick chunks of these items and my onions also). The chicken was perfectly spiced and not overcooked and in fact juicy. The biggest compliment is the avocado not many people know how to pick a perfectly ripe avocado but Pelicana never lets me down. Dressing is always nicely taped in its tiny container on top of the plastic salad bowl so now worries about it dripping all over the place. Staff is always friendly and helpful and will answers any questions you have about any items on the menu. Feel free to order thru seemless for pickup or delivery (they often allow you a discount if you order during certain hours). You can't go wrong with this rs
I came here on birthday to claim my free Korean Fried Chicken birthday promo. Just a heads up you need to dine in and order something else to qualify. So, I ordered a strawberry lemonade to go with it. Honestly, it wad a pretty good deal. I visited on a weekday afternoon around lunchtime and it was fairly quiet. The service was good, especially considering there was one person handling everything. They did a nice job managing things on their own. Overall, it was a nice birthday treat. The service here is quick and super nice, the chicken is absolutely delicious, perfect fry and perfect temperature for the wings we ordered and the sauces were great too. We also ordered fries which were absolutely amazing so I highly recommend coming here for that. For drinks my bf got beer which was fine and I ordered sake but I hated it, the sake was more of a bottle that looked like soda but tasted super artificial and not good. Then we also got the mochi cheese balls and while the cheese inside is amazing, I wasn't really a fan of fried mochi, it becomes a bit too oily for my taste. All in all we would totally come back but we're sticking to chicken, fries and beer-- that's it! read more

I've come here on multiple occasions for my Korean fried chicken fix and each time is always a great time. Food is delicious and comes out at a reasonable time. Drinks are also very good and I am already wanting to go back. read more

Went to pelicana chicken last night. Had the 20 piece mild and spicy soy garlic fried chicken with bacon and cheese fries. The chicken was tasty but I wouldn't get the fries again. It was overall a good experience however a little disappointed alcohol wasn't served (currently going through renewal apparently). Will have to visit again another time. read more

I don't know why I haven't written a review for this place because I've ordered delivery countless times and I've gone to this restaurant in person countless times therefore five stars! I love the atmosphere here in the restaurant they always play banging music they either play K-pop rap or pop and I'm here for it! I noticed they got rid of their bar in the entrance of the restaurant which I think was a wise idea because the restaurant is very narrow itself so I agree with their decision. Every time I come to Pelicana I get the same thing I get an original or crispy chicken sandwich with honey mayo, the cabbage and no pickles.. It's so good. I also recommend getting the french fries with a cheese topper on it it is unmatched.. Sidenote; Pelicana chicken offers its customers coupons and if you get five coupons you get free order of french fries and if you get 10 coupons you get a free order of wings. as a foodie I appreciate that because like I said earlier I come to this place a lot so if I can get free food off of being loyal then I'm here for it! read more

If you're into Korean chicken, you should give this place a try! Crunchy, juicy and flavorful! The fried chicken with the sauces was our favorite. Calamari was crunchy and huge portion. Free chicken on your birthday! Just remember to bring your ID. It was such a delightful experience to celebrate birthday there! All the staffs were so friendly. Prices are considered cheaper compared to others. Definitely will be back for more!! read more

Pelicana Chicken is a pretty good chicken wings place in Sunnyside with abundant beer choices. The music was a little loud as we entered. We started with 10 pieces of Crispy Spicy Chicken Wings and 6 pieces of Crispy Spicy Fried Half Chicken. We asked to have some of them without sauce just in case we don't like the sauce. We opted for Sweet & Spicy Level 1 sauce, which I found to be a tad too sweet for my liking. Perhaps we can go with something much spicier next time. Chicken took a while to come out, but at least we could snack on Fried Sweet Potatoes. Actually, I should have asked for some pickled daikon! They also offer unlimited drinks during a certain period of time for $17.99, so if you plan to have more than two pints of beer, this might be a better option. read more

I thought this place was great. I didn't dine in today, but I will definitely make a return visit to do just so. I ordered some wings to go, it was supposed to be regular wings with half BBQ sauce and half spicy BBQ sauce, I don't know if they messed up my order and gave me one of the same, but I really couldn't tell the difference between the two. I don't think the guy did either. That wasn't cool because its $2 extra for any sauce and I feel I paid $4 for the same sauce, mind you this was one order of wings. I was with my children today and not all of them like spicy, and since we just wanted a quick bite to eat, I couldn't get what I really wanted. I did get a free soda with my check-in, and although the guy that took care of us was nice, I think our order took way to long to come out. I mean we were the first customers there. A couple of people started to show up and stay and some of their items came out before ours. I don't know if that's because we were taking it to go, but come on, it was just an order of wings. Anyway the wings were five stars. They were super crispy, super fresh, and super tasty. I can't wait to return so I can really get some of those hot wings they sell. After trying the amazing infamous "crispy chicken sandwich" from Pelicana, it was only right to try their fried chicken and feast the afternoon away. My biffel and I got 24 pieces of chicken! The server brought us two sauces (honey garlic and sweet & spicy) on the side to try out. Our order came as expected, several chickens out like a cripsy and warm pie. We got small fries on the side, which were perfectly seasoned. Besides the chickens, we got the chicken sandwich again. The chicken itself is very very crispy, which made me happy and satisfied. read more

loveeee pelicana, especially their white snow cheese option!! it reminds me of from korea. i always get the white cheese one and it's delicious to dip in a spicy sauce, and i personally don't really like the sauce covered ones as it makes it less crispy, but they're pretty good as well. make sure you order from them directly instead of through third party carriers as it's cheaper and you can use free fries coupons! read more

Finally gave this place a try after having it in my bookmarks for the longest time. It's also kind of close to my neighborhood but I don't really frequent the area until today! I went in for takeout right after they opened. Settled on a crispy fried boneless whole chicken with honey garlic sauce and truffle fries. The order was taken then the cashier/cook (I guess it was a two-man team putting out all the orders) went to the back towards their kitchen (I'm assuming). Didn't tell me anything. He came back after 10 minutes asking for payment. I saw that they accepted card so I pulled it out. But apparently cash is preferred (according to the cashier). Go figure. Then I just sat at the bar waiting for my order...man I really didn't catch the part where it said the chicken takes at least 30 minutes to cook...I mean it wouldn't hurt to at least tell me that right? The Yelp check in offer was great. Took advantage of it and nabbed myself a Sprite. Once I got home, the food was no longer hot but warm but it was still good. I really liked the fries! The truffle flavor was subtle but the fries had a nice crunch. The chicken was alright. After tasting a few pieces, I'm pretty sure they gave me their signature sweet and spicy sauce and not honey and garlic. Honey and garlic isn't supposed to be spicy...but my chicken was (which is unfortunate). Maybe I should ask for the sauce on the side next time? But only if I'm in the area. Visited my sister and really wanted Korean fried chicken so we came by. I'm glad we decided to dine in, because I really enjoyed the vibe of the place. We got fries, tteokbokki, and some wings. The tteokbokki was spicier than I thought it would be, but still delicious and served on a burner to keep it warm. It came with fish cakes and an egg as well. We originally wanted their crispy spicy wings, but were told they were out of that batter which was a bummer but the original spicy was still tasty especially with the soy garlic sauce. The staff were quick to take our order and check in on us periodically. Overall will be coming again whenever I'm craving fried chicken and I'm in the area. read more
