Garage door stopped working so I called around for a couple of different estimates. One company…read morecame out immediately and gave an astronomical quote. When I questioned, they gave me two other lower cost options, one that didn't include the exterior keypad and one that didn't have a warranty. Even these seemed a bit high. When I called American Garage Door & Glass, they gave me a quick verbal quote over the phone that included the pad, wifi access and a warranty and was still less than the lowest price option from the other company. I got one more estimate that was in the same range but decided to go with AGD&G based on the reviews. It was easy to get on the schedule, they just showed up and the install took a little over an hour. The price was exactly as verbally quoted, no surprises whatsoever. The new garage door opener works great! It's quiet, easy to use and the wifi connectivity will come in very handy. Excellent experience. I would highly recommend.

Excellent service! Wouldn't go anywhere else…read more American Garage Door installed our Lift-Master openers 26 years ago. They have always provided excellent service any time I have needed parts or on-site service. Recently, one of the belts snapped. AGD did not have the belt in stock, but they redirected me to Lift-Master since the belts have a lifetime warranty if you are the original owner. Lift-Master did send me a new belt at no charge (only the belt). The standard procedure is to take the hardware off the old belt and use it on the new belt...but one of the old parts didn't fit the new belt. I reached out to American Garage Door again and they were able to provide a new part that fit. I also had an issue putting the protective cap back on the sprocket since the new belt seemed to be just a bit thicker than the old 26 year old belt. American Garage Door checked with their technician and called me back the next day as promised. Great service each and every time!

The door is level, opens smoothly, and looks great against the stone and black trim. He was professional and clearly knew what he was doing. Highly recommend Alan and AB Garage Door, especially if you've got a tricky driveway or non-standard install. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

He even caught an issue with a small shed door that had been letting in water for years. He recognized the problem right away, made the proper adjustments, and explained everything clearly. The work was done efficiently, and the quality stood out. In December 2022, I needed all three of my garage door openers upgraded, and I didn't hesitate to call Thomas again. He installed new LiftMaster units, and the difference has been incredible. The openers are quiet, smooth, reliable, and far more modern than the old systems they replaced. Once again, he handled everything professionally, tested all the features, cleaned up afterwards, and made sure I understood how everything worked. What I appreciate most is that the level of service has remained consistently excellent over the years. Thomas takes pride in his work, shows up when he says he will, charges fair prices, and treats your home with respect. It's rare to find someone who maintains this level of quality across multiple visits. If you're in the Merrimack Valley, the Seacoast area, or anywhere in Essex County, Thomas is absolutely worth calling for anything related to garage doors, repairs, or opener installation. I've referred many people to him and will continue to do so. He's a reliable professional you can trust.
