Uncle Sams is a great little burger place and the staff are always friendly and they make a great…read moreburger. We use Uncle Sams in general probably every 6 -8 weeks, and most of those come from this branch. I highly recommend the Chicken el fuego, All Star burger [beef], and the Double chilli and cheese [on the hot side - I like to add garlic mayo]. Have a good read of the menu to make sure you're getting what you want in your burger, they are actually all quite different. The All star is best if you like everything; their dill pickles are particularly tasty. Their fries come without the salt added, so you can only blame yourself for adding too much and they are nice and fresh and crisp. The burgers are cooked under a flame, which makes them super tasty and their buns are really nice [I'm not sure why, but they are]. They have a couple of tables inside but I've never eaten in, so I can't review the eat-in service. I must not forget the milkshakes, because although they are super high in calories [obviously] they do a toffee flavoured one, which cannot be said for the competition [yes, I'm talking about you Mc D's]. I think I've said what I can say about the place - go and get one next time you fancy a burger and give the competition a break, you won't regret it.

Uncle Sams is more like an institution of Burgess Hill, than a hamburger restaurant. They have been…read moreserving up quality burgers for as long as I can remember. All are cooked to order, rather than sitting under hot lamps like McDonalds and are generous sized patties. They have an interesting range on the menu, with the Hawaiian being one of my favourites. On top of the burgers, they serve a few side orders (onion rings etc) and have great milkshakes. They have about 6-7 tables on site if you want to eat in, which is functional but not exactly stylish. I do like the old school diner mike that they call your order to the griddle chef (even though he is only about 1 meter away), but sometimes it's the little touches that win you over! To be honest, it is a fast food burger joint, so it will never be the healthiest meal you will eat. Still, if you want to indulge in a burger from time to time I would certainly recommend stopping at Uncle Sams over some of the big chain brands dotted around town.

I was attracted by the bright color of Leon's sign so I went and checked the menu: there were a lot…read moreof vegan/vegetarian options but also many traditional chicken and fish burgers (I got the chipotle and avocado burger... highly recommend!!). The staff was very nice and I had overall a very nice experience. 100% would go there again

When I started working in London I finally had a chance to try Leon. Billed as "naturally fast…read morefood" I was still shocked to find how much of their menu is gluten free. Including the desserts. I loved it so much that I excitedly tweeted to them that I would singlehandedly keep a restaurant open in Brighton. And they replied to me telling me to wait. Well... the wait is over! Today I was invited to the opening of the new Leon Restaurant in Brighton which replaces Eat. I think this is a brilliant swap as Eat was far too similar to its neighbour Pret. But Leon is quite different in that it offers warm, hearty food. Setting up just before winter is also probably a good move. The decor is really nice and chilled out. They make good use of the space which I've previously found a bit dark and claustrophobic. Katy and I were greeted by some of the nice workers at Leon and told we could each choose a meal and drink to have on the house. We both went for the Moroccan Meatballs (on my recommendation). I had a lemonade to drink and Katy went for a green smoothie. We also picked up a few sweet treats: my favourite lemon and ginger slice and a billionaire shortbread for Katy. The meatballs are my favourite so I knew I would like them, but Katy had never been to a Leon and she loved it as well. She began talking about how close it is to her work and how she will be able to pop in on breaks for a relatively healthy and warm meal. We also tried searching for the menu online and a sneaky link to Deliveroo popped up. So we're hoping they're going to be one of our delivery options soon.
