Amazing burgers and fries. Service was good. Expensive but worth it. It was very quiet but it was…read moreprobably the time so I recommend go at 6pm

I previously wrote in a review that fast food would never get a high review from me... well, that…read morewas before Five Guys. We had an American Five Guys in California [reviewed previously] and it was the best burger I'd ever had. I was delighted (although a little skeptical) when I heard that they had made it across the pond and that they would be opening in Guildford, one of my favourite shopping haunts. We visited in December and it was just as good as the burger we had in the American branch - excellent. We had learnt from our previous mistake and only ordered one small fries to share - this was more than enough. We got the plain ones because even though we love spicy food, their spicy fries just don't hit the spot. My only complaint is that it was quite expensive. We paid £25 here for two burgers, one fries, and one drink and $22 (£14.50 in today's money) in America for two burgers, two fries, and two drinks (more food + drink). So it is quite pricey compared to America AND of course expensive for a burger, but it's not somewhere we will go to more than two-three times per year, so it's worth it. I was pleased to see that the decor was the same, the help-yourself peanuts were present, and the 100+ varieties of help-yourself unlimited drinks machine was there. It was all very authentic. Top notch.

If you are looking for a fast food meal then this is fine. The restaurant is very clean and nice…read more KFC has good crunchy and well seasoned chicken so for fast food from America this is good. The fries are a let down so maybe skip those...sorry.

Recently refurbished this branch of KFC now looks good and one feels a lot more comfortable…read morevisiting. The new style is American diner style and it suits the venue. Most seating is now bench-style booths and they've done away with the low level children's seats (which is a shame). Staff here tend to be courteous and service is efficient. The only real service issue to note is that, if you want to use a voucher the staff insist that you say at the time of ordering or you can't use it. They are very inflexible in this regard. The restaurant tends to be clean and the toilet facilities, although small, are fresh. The restaurant doesn't get that busy during the daytime and is a better bet for a seat than the branch of KFC at the bottom of the Peacocks centre (in their food court). In the evenings Chertsy Road, in which the restaurant is situated gets very busy and on a weekend, particularly around 11pm the restaurant gets very, very busy and doesn't feel that comfortable. Most customers are getting take aways but as the area in front of the servery is not particularly big it can get very crowded. The branch is open to the early hours so, if like me, you go out and then get the munchies on the way home, you can do something about it! There's no real parking available but you can be dropped off outside and have your partner in crime do a quick circuit round the one-way system to pick up again!
