Checked out this place last night for their Rio Gastronimia menu. Service was extremely slow-we waited almost 30 min for our appetizers which were soup and a house salad. The salad was standard while the soup (zuppe mediteraneo or something) was extremely bland- even after I put a whole packet of salt in it. For main course, I got the scampi crudo and while it seemed quite fresh, I didn't find it to taste good at all and only ate half. My wife got the shrimp wrapped in prosciutto and that sucked too. It seems they use an extremely poor quality ham and instead of melting in your mouth it's actually a bit tough and leather-like. Three large prawns were served and we only ate half, again. Dessert was the highlight though it may seem odd to complain but it was over-sized. A giant mille folia was served and while quite good it just seemed too big, too much cream even for people like us who love sweets.
We were the only ones there on a Thursday night at 830 until another couple arrived an hour later. Not sure how this place stays in business. I would not return. read more
