It's been quite a while since we were last here and a lot seems to have changed. The menu has been updated and they serve things a little differently than they used to. Beyond that the food still taste good and the serving size is don't seem to be smaller. It took us a few to figure out what everyone wanted but once we were set ordering was very easy and it was able to use my number to get credit for it. My kids went with a bit more of the normal choices that were still just as good as they used to be. I am the other hand decided to try something new. I ordered the firecracker chicken on a salad. The first thing that was different for me was the chicken was in one container while the salad portion was in a separate one. I'm used to it all being together. This wasn't a problem as I like to cut the chicken up into smaller pieces. I prepped the salad portion with the dressing that comes with it and then I added the chicken. The first thing I noticed is that there's very little heat to the chicken. Just for the name I expected something hotter. It did have very good flavor though. They no longer have the little containers with their hot sauce that you can spoon in. Instead they now have it and little packets like so many other items. Portion size is a lot easier this way. I used a few of these in the mix and mixed it all together. Now it had great flavor and great heat. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to stopping in again soon. Came here to eat since Hollar and Dash was closed. Off to a sad start. I checked in an showed the check-in coupon at the employee at the counter and was denied the check-in reward. It's not expired and I know business have to pay for these coupons, FALSE ADVERTISING! The orange peel tofu was really good, but the situation was irritating. The supervisor did come over and talk to me and explain the issue. I wish this wasn't my first impression of this location, but they did make up for it in the recovery. My friends and I really enjoy coming in here, especially over our lunch hour. Even if they are busy, the employees here are always quick and friendly. The food is always fresh and delicious. I love the blend of Asian cultures into the different dishes they offer. My newest favorite side is the Vietnamese Chicken Salad Roll. It contains chicken, Napa cabbage, lettuce, mint, carrots, svallions, peanuts, rice noodles and a lime vinaigrette all wrapped in a rice paper wonton, served with Sweet Chile and Peanut sauces. I also love that besides the typical rice bowls and salads they also offer lettuce wraps and sushi! I really hate to do this as Pei Wei used to be one of my favorite Asian Fusion restaurants, but sadly I probably will never return back to one. When they first began, they were PF Changs sister restaurant and shared a lot of the same dishes and preparations served in a casual fast food type atmosphere. They've since broken away from the brand and introduced lots more dishes than in the past, but unfortunately in their case more is definitely not better. I can't speak for the Jet Tila inspired dishes because I did not order them on this trip, but everything else that was ordered was bland and terrible! The pad thai was the worse pad thai I have ever eaten. This used to be my go to dish here! It had hardly any sauce, it was dry, I did not even see any peanuts or tofu which it once had, and the noodles were absolute mush. Just a disaster! The most delicious thing they used to serve was the Mongolian Beef. It was a carbon copy of PF Changs Mongolian beef and what I used to describe as "meat candy". This... Im not even sure what this was supposed to be. It certainly wasn't sweet, not at all spicy, and had nothing that makes Mongolian beef what it is. Just a bland sauced beef with mushrooms. Who puts mushrooms in Mongolian Beef anyway? The lettuce wraps were at least edible, but not the same either and the Honey chicken needed way more than sauce. One extra star for the decent portions, but I can no longer ever recommend eating here to anyone again. It's a shame. read more

The food was crazy good. We were hoping for a hole in the wall Chinese place and were a bit nervous when we got there. We ordered from the menu that looked photoshopped. I really like Pei Wei, it's an upgrade from let's say Panda Express. They have a good variety of menu options and everything is very fresh and made to order. Their app really makes my experience better. You can earn rewards points and they often offer coupons, sometimes even free items. Ordering in the app is very easy and I really like that you can customize things, such as removing a certain item from a dish or adding extra sauce. The portion sizes are good! If you like spicy things they definitely have a few spicy dishes, but you can also tone down the spice level. I have most recently ordered curbside and they always bring out my food right away. For dine-in you order at the counter and they bring to your table on real plates! Some outdoor shaded seating. Great for lunch hour but it can get kind of crowded especially when the nearby Disney office buildings are up and running. My only negative is that they don't really offer combos. They have a few appetizers, such as egg rolls and crab wontons and they have the Coca-Cola freestyle machines, but it doesn't automatically come as a meal. If you do want all of that stuff it will get a little pricey. read more

Another bad experience with this food chain. First, we ordered the Asian Chopped Salad and the limited time hot honey chicken for dinner. No clean forks so we had to ask to be provided with plastic. Then, we waited and got the chicken dish with hardly any chicken as you can see and mostly all chicken. No green scallions or serving as pictured on the advertisement in the menu. We waited for the next dish as I didn't want to eat and have my daughter just stare while she's hungry as well. I asked the employee that took our order and she said that they ran out and had to make "new salad". As we waited for the salad, we looked over at the kitchen and saw what seemed to be maybe a manager preparing the salad. He then started to mix the salad with his bare hands no gloves. As we got closer he continued to put the salad he mixed without gloves into the bowl he was going to serve it in. It is disgusting that these things happen. I approached the same employee that took our order and handed back my chicken dish untouched and asked for a refund. Never did she or anyone ask if there was a reason or if anything was wrong with the meal. They simply didn't care and handed me the refund receipt. This could've been handled a lot better, once again Pei Wei disappoints me. read more

I visit this Pei Wei very often. The food is great. The service needs help. Tonight I ordered curbside, I texted when I arrived which was before my food was ready. 10 minutes after it was ready, it was finally brought out to me with a very sarcastic "we're stressed and understaffed". Not ok. I could see into the restaurant, there was time to grab a bag and walk it 10 feet to the car. They chose not to. They chose to ignore my text that I had arrived. They chose refill fortune cookies instead of bringing my food that I ordered and paid for out to my car. I also called once it was 5 minutes past my food being ready, I waited on hold for 15 minutes before someone answered. I could see in the restaurant. They were having a chat amongst themselves. Steamed chicken almost seemed raw, asked for extra spicy and received bland, and my daughters "sauce on the side" sweet and sour chicken came drenched in sauce. The food was solid, as it is chain chinese food, I know what I am getting. I ordered a take out meal and sat there and watched every employee constantly working, taking care of customers, and all cohesively doing what needed to be done. When someone didn't have something to do, they would restock items, wipe down tables, or straighten up the set up. All the cooks were focused and engaged. So often, I go inside chain restaurants and there is a lack of professionalism and a lot of screwing around. I asked the younger lady working there "Who is the manager here?" And she said "he is not here tonight, can I help you with anything?" And I looked around again and it was all young adults just working hard because they wanted to do a great job. It was super impressive to see. As a small business owner, I know how hard it is to find a staff that cares and is engaged with their customers and their experience. I over pay my employees who do care because I know how hard it is to find great ones. Everyone working at this location was focused, thoughtful, and professional. We met our friends here from out of town for 4th of July Weekend. We like this Pei Wei a lot. It is alway clean and pleasant. Our service was very good, food arrived within 6-7 minutes. I will never go to this location again. After a previous bad experience recently, I received an apology from the restaurant and was offered a gift card. I go back to use this gift card and get the worst meal I've had in my life. I've attached a picture because you wouldn't believe it if I simply told you. I ordered the Mongolian chicken with fried rice - no special cooking requests. I got pieces of over cooked plain chicken that didn't even resemble how it should look and chunks of rice that was white and not fried. Also the serving was half the size and didn't even fill up the bottom of the container. I just can't believe someone would cook this and then someone else would serve this and no one thought twice! I know they will say they are sorry again and this is not what they strive for but it's just ridiculous and I give up.
