Master planners Robert A.M. Stern and Jaquelin T. Robertson organized the town into distinct neighborhoods centered around parks and communal squares, with the goal of recreating the charm and sense of community associated with classic American small towns. One of the community's most popular green spaces is Founders Park, a hub for recreation and local activities. The park features a large athletic field used for soccer, football, and other sports, as well as tennis courts and a playground. Unfortunately, during my visit, the fields had recently been fertilized, and the overwhelming smell of horse manure quickly drove me out of the park. Before leaving, I stopped by my favorite part of Founders Park: the Veterans Memorial. The memorial was initiated by Eagle Scout Simon Sharp, who raised $15,000 for the project and created its original design. Tragically, Simon was diagnosed with leukemia during the effort. He received his Eagle Scout award for the project the day before he passed away from the disease. Volunteers completed the memorial in his honor. Today, the memorial stands as both a tribute to America's veterans and to Simon's service to the community. The park also contains a plaque honoring Simon's contributions, along with another commemorating Revolutionary War patriots. A popular spot for pictures is the large circle on the ground that says Celebration Florida with its founding date, 1994.

He loved it so much, since then it would…read morebe our routine to start our field days at the Casey Jr.'s when we use to have an annual pass at Disneyland. Here in Magic Kingdom, its not a train ride but, a splash pad station. As tourist or a local you should find this place a little useful, being in the humid heat of Florida. Going around Magic Kingdom can be draining and leave you with that sticky feeling. It's located near Goofy's Barnstormer ride and we made two visits here, one in the morning and afternoon. The Casey Jr. Train just stays put and doesn't move at all. Situated on the train are animals that squirt here and there at random. You'll even get sprayed when your back is turned and not knowing where the water sprout came from. So there's some fun factor from it, especially for the kids. My son didn't really find the concept exciting unfortunately, but it does play the Casey Jr. Train theme song in brief moments and he did like that part of it. I did find the misty water effects useful if you like to stand on a certain spot to cool down. Other than that, there isn't much here in this small area.

Recently, the riverboat was removed and the Rivers of America for the new addition of the Cars themed area. The land's most popular attractions include the following: Big Thunder Mountain: This is a runaway mine train coaster that plunges through red rock canyons, abandoned tunnels, and a mining town. The typical standby wait time averages between 30-45 minutes for this ride. It does accept lightning lane though! Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Lightning lane is accepted on this ride. It was recently reimaged to Tiana's Bayou Adventure. It is a water ride, and you will get wet! Even wearing a rain jacket, I got soaked! Standby wait times during the summer can get lengthy, up to an hour! Country Bear Jamboree: This show is great! I watch it every time I come to Disney World. The wait time is minimal. It's a musical show highlighting a lot of Disney themed movie songs, like Zootopia and a few other Country Bear Jamboree classics. There are a lot of shops and dining spots inside Frontierland. Those include Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn, Westward Ho, Golden Oak Outpost, Frontier Trading Post, and more! Some of my favorite snack places are at Westward Ho and Golden Oak Outpost. Their menu items change seasonally! You'll find Frontierland entrance from Main Street! This is a must visit and would recommend experiencing all of the rides/attractions while visiting Magic Kingdom!

Many stopping points along the way offer interesting and educational sights to see. As an animal lover, I'm really, really torn over the fact that zoos exist. On the one hand, I think…read morethey are great educational opportunities and a fantastic way to protect endangered species through breeding programs and proper care. On the other hand, animals are wild creatures and should be allowed to live their lives roaming free. Thankfully the Pangani Forest trail is one of the "good" places to view and learn about animals. The habitats here are AMAZING, as you'd expect from Disney. They are large, lush, spotlessly clean, and have many places for animal privacy. The trail starts out with a few Colobus monkeys and delves into a place for viewing zebras, meerkats (my favorite), a hippo pool with underwater observation area, a gorgeous bird aviary (with bird spotting field guides that you can borrow on your stroll), a small reptile house (with naked mole rats, a snake, a tortoise, and beetles, all in immaculately clean aquariums), and a phenomenal gorilla habitat (with an observation bridge as well as a glass area) that is a must-see. The trail is thoughtfully designed with a multitude of info boards and signs, all sticking to a cool jungle theme. The informational signs are informative, easy to understand, and fascinating. There are replica hippo skulls, facts about food and lifestyle habits of the animals, and plenty of educational tools. There are nature guides / cast members stationed at each exhibit -- TALK TO THEM. Use their knowledge to LEARN, don't just pound on the glass, whistle at or yell to the animals. No, you rude moron, that gorilla does NOT want to pose for your stupid photo! I had to shush several children and adults during my visit, and I encourage everyone else who witnesses this awful behavior to do the same. When I encountered the meerkat exhibit, there was nary a meerkat in sight -- but there were plenty of loud, yelling, obnoxious adults and kids around. I sat down for a bit to rest my feet and when the crowd cleared out, I approached the viewing area to check out the habitat. Lo and behold, when I was standing there with my husband and talking in hushed whispers, the entire colony of thirteen (!!) meerkats suddenly emerged! We had the great fortune of QUIETLY observing these adorable creatures for about 8 minutes until more loud rednecks came up, ran up to the barrier and started yelling and taking photos. Of course the little guys retreated back into their dens. God, I hate people sometimes.

Lake Ned is part of Winter Haven's famous Chain of Lakes, a grouping of more than 50 lakes ranging in size from tiny to large. Twenty-four of the lakes are connected by canals making them ideal for boating, fishing, picnicking. Lake Ned park has a basketball court which was being enjoyed by a large group on the day I visited. There is also a boat ramp, covered picnic pavilions with tables, paved walkways, and older style playground equipment which could use updating. Unfortunately the park is lacking in restroom facilities. My favorite feature of the park is the lake view where you can catch a glimpse of local birds. It would be a nice place to bring a picnic lunch. This park is especially enjoyed by local anglers and boaters.

My family and I enjoy doing the Wilderness Explorers Program at Disney's Animal Kingdom. We do it…read moreevery time we go. It has become one of those unplanned but so enjoyable surprises each time. You start right near the Tree of Life entrance to the park with a little manual and after that, you are an official member of the Wilderness Explorers. The idea for the Wilderness Explorers was taken from the movie "Up". After that, it becomes a self guided scavenger hunt where you find stations throughout the park, complete small tasks or learn some information and receive stickers for your handbook. The thing I liked best about it was that it gave us a reason to take our time and see parts of the park we might not normally visit. Rather than going from ride to ride as fast as possible, I found that I stopped at many areas in the park that I usually wouldn't stop at. At each station there were Cast Members who provided educational material on animals, animal conservation, or habitats and areas of different ecosystems. It was very informative and never seemed too long, plus, they made it interactive and easy to follow. There's something somewhat enjoyable about earning all your badges and filling out the activity guide. However, It will take up some time. If you attempt to finish all of them, you're probably going to have to spend most of, if not the whole day on it, because many of the booths for this event are located around the entire park. I would highly suggest this as an option, especially if you are looking for some variety of activities in addition to your large rides. This activity is entertaining and educational, making it a good opportunity to add depth to your day at Animal Kingdom by allowing it to be more than just the major attractions!

I love it and it's a great way to adapt Up into the parks. This is like the cutest thing they have in Animal Kingdom. You can wander around to different parts of this park to different stands collecting stickers for your Wilderness Explorers booklet. You have to participate in all the different activities at all the stands to get the stickers. It can get crowded but people of all ages are allowed to participate. The person running it actually said they love it when adults participate because they can have more in depth discussions with them. You can also meet Russell and Doug at one of the areas. We didn't collect all the stickers, but we were able to get some that you can't get anymore at the Conservation Station. Or maybe they will move them somewhere else. Who knows but it's closed now. Luckily the books can be used on different visits so we will just finish collecting the rest of the stickers the next time we visit.

Liberty Square is OK. This themed land at Magic Kingdom is best known for the Haunted Mansion,…read morewhich is one of the best rides in all of Disney World. Other highlights or notable points of interest for my wife and me here include Memento Mori (a great gift shop with Haunted Mansion merchandise), Columbia Harbour House (one of the better quick-service restaurants in the park; underrated for its quieter upstairs seating), and the Hall of Presidents. The area is themed after Colonial America and has a replica Liberty Bell at its de facto center. It's the smallest themed land in Magic Kingdom and, following the closure of the Rivers of America and the Liberty Belle Riverboat in July 2025 for the new Cars expansion, it feels even more compact. Because it's so small, it doesn't offer as much to do as the other lands. Fun fact: The replica Liberty Bell here is the only one in the world cast from the same mold as the original in Philadelphia. Disney was the only entity given permission to cast a replica for the U.S. Bicentennial in 1976.

My personal favorite part of the park is Tomorrowland in my #1, but I think Liberty Square comes in right at #3, tied with Adventureland! My favorite parts of Liberty Square is WITHOUT A DOUBT Haunted Mansion!!!!!! This is one of my top rides in the whole park and is more than reason enough to be going to the Liberty Square area! You should also maybe take note of the ground you're walking on throughout Liberty Square and perhaps look up the meaning of it and how it differs from the rest of the park!
