They got my information including insurance details ( and I have a decent PPO insurance) and when I walked in after a week, they were checking with insurance and did some confusion, for that, they told me we will do 1 session and cannot book further appointments until we talk to your insurance. 1. The whole staff is top notch here. This is my second or third time needing physical therapy and I'm happy to be able to come back here. From the front office staff to the back they are all welcoming and so helpful. Tina is very intuitive and always willing to adjust to your needs. Michael and Alan are so knowledgeable and gentle. Couldn't get the receptionist to understand I wanted to begin PT with them. I then asked for someone to call me back but that didn't occur. When I called back and told the receptionist that if I can't set up an appointment I'd have to go somewhere else. She said OK and hung up. Later I called again and a male answered phone. I said please cancel the callback. He said OK and ended the call. The simplest of minds would have asked if there was anything they could do to help. I stopped by as a potential new patient, and wanted to ask a PT a couple questions before handing over my prescription. Sadly, the receptionist wouldn't let me ask a PT a quick question as they would be closing for lunch in 20 minutes. WHAT???? Receptionists should be welcoming to a business, ANY business. I guess they have enough patients and don't need to attract others. It takes months, decades, sometimes years to gain a client- but you can lose a client in a matter of seconds. My referring surgeon will be getting my feedback. So sadly disappointing. read more

On my first knee replacement surgery in 2017 Dr. Alan was amazing and I did extremely well. On my second knee replacement this year in May I encountered a very different Dr. Alan. The first knee I never felt like he took me too far into a pain level I couldn't handle. He really worked with me and listened to me. The second surgery was entirely different. At times I cried and screamed in pain and felt he didn't listen to me at all. As an RN I thought he took me beyond my tolerance. His staff knew this and I could tell they were uncomfortable with his approach. One of his therapist would ask me where my pain level was and as I approached an 8 she eased off. He told her not to ease off and to push it. I went back to my surgeon and he was very happy with where I was at and told me I was beyond his expectation. My doctor told me Dr. Alan should not be pushing my pain level so hard. After 5 weeks he kept pushing me too far so I decided not to go back. I had really hoped to stay with him throughout the recovery process. I saw him for 3 months with my first knee. Listen to your patient and if you have them crying and screaming in pain ease off, let them catch their breath and try again. I would love to thank Michael and Michelle they were awesome. I wish I could have stuck with it but you have to know when your patient has reached their level of endurance. read more

Only place I was comfortable was the floor for over a week. I went to Dr Alan Cheng who was excellent and the following week saw Ana who was also incredible. I was very quickly back to me norm and perfectly comfortable. Would recommend 100%. read more

I cannot stop raving about Dr. Alan and his staff!!! I had a trimalleolar fracture and when it was time to start my physical therapy, I made the mistake of thinking that all PT clinics were alike. I started going to a clinc down the street from my house but I made very little progress. My orthopedic surgeon even expressed his concern that I was jeopardizing my recovery. So I changed clinic and decided to come to Dr. Alan on a recommendation. I drive all the way from Anaheim Hills twice a week to receive my treatments...its worth the drive!!! At each session, Dr. Alan personally dedicates a lot of time directly treating and overseeing your treatment. He is really hands-on, and knows each patient's case in full detail. Dr. Alan, not only had a plan for my ankle, but he incorporated a holistic plan to get my entire body back into shape. This has help me get back to a normal life and to the actives I enjoyed prior to my injury. The staff at Pegasus are all highly accredited professionals. Waste of time coming here. Their hours of operation on Google state that the Laguna Hills location is open until 6PM. No appointment reminders or confirmations stating which location you are booked for. Went to this location at 2PM and apparently this location is partially closed today and I didn't even have an appointment here. Apparently my appointment was at the Newport Beach location. Their phone just rings and rings with no message or explanation stating that they are not currently open. Or why they aren't answering their phone in the middle of the business day. Are they busy? On lunch? With a patient? Closed? Save yourself the drive and time off of work coming to this place. read more

My doctor recommended Dr. Allen to me because he treated her and she feels much better, I called the office to make an appointment and I requested to be seen by Dr. Allen and I insisted, I got an appointment 2 weeks later since Dr. Allen is always busy and if I would go with anyone else at their office they would have booked me the following day of my original call, but since I wanted Dr. Allen I had to wait for 2 weeks with lots of lower back pain and pain killers. Today at 2 pm was my appointment, I was there at 1:45 pm but the office was closed, they opened at 2:07 pm, they let me in, I started filling out my paperwork when a gentleman by the name of David called me to go start my session with, I looked at the receptionist and I said but my appointment is with Dr. Allen, she said Dr. Allen isn't available, I was extremely disappointed because I drove 25 miles to come to see him, and I waited 2 weeks also for an appointment with him and if I knew I will end up with David I would have booked David the following day of my original call. The Staff didn't even bother to call me to let me know Dr. Allen wasn't available so I can make a choice and save myself a drive, staff didn't care about patients, and said there is nothing we can do for you. Before I call for an appointment I checked their Yelp reviews and I saw that someone said they will book you with Dr. Allen but you will end up with his assistant, that's why I said on the phone I need to see Dr. Allen himself 3 times, but unfortunately, this is their dishonest way of keeping their office busy. I will share my bad experience with my doctor who referred me to this office. I will never come back to this office because the professional staff makes all the difference in any business. Dr. Alan was impressive on the first visit. I was encouraged that I would have some relief from back pain. . Each time I returned--and it was often...I had to insist that I see him and was successful one or two times but after that I was moved off to his assistants. I was told he was busy with other patients. On one visit, they booked an appointment for me with his partner in the other office. I had no idea that this was so until I got there. That was clearly a waste of time and money. The front office was inefficient and unfamiliar as it related to insurance matters and poor about returning phone calls. This is not an office I would recommend, I'm sorry to say. It's really a shame. I thought I could make progress. read more

I have battled with chronic back pain for over 12 years and recently underwent an SI joint fusion followed by a lumbar laminectomy 18 months later. I began my journey with Dr. Alan Cheng and his crew at Pegasus Physical Therapy after my first surgery and then chose to work with him again after my second surgery. Having seen various physical therapists throughout the years prior to my surgeries, my experience with Dr. Cheng has led me to conclude that he is beyond a doubt my best experience. Dr. Cheng, or "Alan" as he prefers to be called, is smart, knowledgeable, and responds to questions with valuable information that can be used beyond his care. What I value most about Alan is that with each visit he asks questions, makes assessments, and modifies treatment as necessary as opposed to the standard routine of events that I've experienced with other physical therapists with no modifications. Alan has a great team and yet he always has an eye on what everyone is doing and provides input when necessary. He is a good listener, caring, and your biggest advocate when you experience a setback (which is often common with back surgery). Dr. Alan Cheng has provided me with stellar care. Seriously. These guys are special. I have always had a pinched nerve type pain between my shoulder blades. 1 chiropractor said there was nothing that could be done. Another would give me some relief but it was always very temporary. It got to the point where the pain was unbearable, especially when transitioning to a laying down or standing up position. It's as if the weight of my head was pulling a nerve causing a severe sharp pain. A friend mentioned Pegusus Physical Therapy and I remembered going to them years ago with Plantar Fasciitis. I asked my doctor to refer me and I am just so amazed. I got almost instant relief and it has come to be permanent - even when I overdo it picking up my grand babies. I am just so grateful to have come back to Allen and his expertly trained staff! My insurance will no longer pay for my visits. I plan to budget for a monthly cash appointment, to maintain how I feel, spreading out the visits as we go if I don't need to go monthly. Pegusus PT is like PT, chiropractic, acupressure, and more - all rolled into one appointment. I can't more highly recommend them! read more

After undergoing an L5-S1 Microdiscectomy, I was recommended by my Doctor to see Alan and his staff. I couldn't have been happier with that recommendation. Pegasus PT is absolutely amazing! The best place to seek treatment and therapy for a lower back injury. Even though I live in Orange, I still have no problem making the drive to Laguna Hills. It's totally worth it to me! They have a different approach to physical therapy, which I really enjoy. They rely on acupressure, massage, assisted-stretching, and thrust-joint manipulation (aka adjusting your back/neck). I tried other PTs, those that are "bigger" and supposed to be better, but all they do is give you some stretches to do and send you home. Alan doesn't like that approach, he would rather be hands on, than just send you home with new stretches. Alan is a funny, kind and awesome guy! He makes you feel really comfortable. I also have to give a lot of credit to his assistants. Adriana is awesome with back massage (she has the most experience), she is really patient and explains new stretches/techniques really well, and just pleasant to talk to. Anne is great as well. She is great at back massage and assisted-stretching, and a joy to be around. Fujie is the one male they currently have (other than Alan the DPT) and he is great as well. Everybody here is wonderful! Each person here does a great job. I just can't recommend this place enough. Whether you are post-surgery or have an existing injury, you definitely have to give this place a try! read more
