This place is always fun and getting your favorite coffee beverage, the way you like it, makes it a daily ritual. I don't always arrive at a certain time as I like to walk there from home which takes about 25 or thirty minutes as I walk through Twin Pines Park, which is on the way. The staff is very friendly, respectful and courteous. This is important as waiting on every range of customers can be challenging yet also rewarding. Seeing the staff engage with customers patiently and efficiently makes coming here a pleasant experience. For starters, I love Peet's. I think it is a great coffee shop, and I would encourage more patrons to choose it over Starbucks, as it is a more local and ethical option. The Belmont store isn't terrible. Overall, it is clean and well-kept. The restroom is clean and well stocked. The patrons are nice, and the layout flows nicely. There are plenty of tables and places to plug in a laptop, so I appreciate that. The staff are usually pretty nice here, but I had an awkward experience over the weekend and would like to say that this was bad for their business. I approach the counter and order the "Hula Brew." I give my order in a reasonably loud, audible voice. The cashier keeps saying "Cold Brew," and keeps asking what size I want. The "Hula Brew" only comes in one size (medium). I have to explain this to him. He asks me if I'm sure that's the drink I want and then proceeds to tell me how nobody likes that drink. He was not saying it humorously either. I think the "Hula Brew" is very good, and they should not talk down about their own drinks to the customers. In Belmont for the day and needed a caffeine fix. Popped over from my hotel and walked to Peet's, a coffee house for coffee lovers. This is one of my favorite brands from Major Dickason's blend to their dark roast profile. I ordered a large coffee and an almond croissant all for about $8. Pricey but hey it's California. When I sat down, someone came up to me and asked abruptly, "Are you from around here?" As I looked up it appeared to be an elderly woman. The interaction continues... Me: "Nope from Atlanta" (pronounced aptly southern, 'Atlannuh') Them: "What, where is that?!" Me: "It's in Georgia." (Pops top on coffee cup) Them: "Wow, well what are you doing here?" Me: "I took the wrong bus." Them: laughing Me: (Smiling, taking first sip of Peet's coffee.) I continued to enjoy my cup and enjoyed the lively scenery. The pink haired dog. The airplanes flying over near the local airport. The busy professional doing their thing. This is a neat location right next to the Belmont Caltrain and in the Safeway parking lot. It's the Saturday after Thanksgiving and you'd think you'd want some normalcy at your nearest Peet's Coffee. Walked in and they had some soft Holiday music playing. Half the tables set up were empty, but there was still a steady flow of customers coming in and out either to order or pick up an order. I ordered oatmeal and a small cup of hot matcha green tea. I appreciated how the condiments (dry blueberries, almonds and brown sugar were individually packed). And I thought the hot oatmeal was delicious! But to serve your customer with piping hot tea in paper material cup without a sleeve, is that even safe? i came here to meet a friend on a wednesday afternoon and timing was great b/c there were some tables available outside (to soak up the sun) as well as tables inside, a bit cooler and quieter. my friend ordered a coffee and pastry (warm) which were both ready in a jiffy. we then proceeded to sit and chat for about 2 hours, inside, just catching up, undisturbed by anything around us. we noticed many customers coming in and out to pick up an order, i'm assuming they ordered ahead, perhaps using the peet's app "peetnik" which is actually super convenient. i enjoyed the interior, nice and clean lines with high ceilings, no echo while i chatted with my friend. the restrooms were also clean and well-stocked. plenty of parking just outside, but be sure to limit your visit to 2 hrs, or risk getting towed! super convenient to the belmont caltrain or 101 & ralston. read more

This place is located right next to the street with ample seating. You can find a nice table next to the window and sit with your coffee. I always love their coffee and my favorite is the egg and cheese toasted sandwich. The staff is nice. Most people do takeaways. Love the recent Peet's ads... Coffee for coffee people. Unlike Dutch Bros with its XL cups of coffee-flavored sugar, or Starbucks with its consistently burnt taste; Peets serves a consistent great tasting cappuccino no matter which store I'm in. Belmont is my fav in the area. Though it is small it is mighty. I've seen the same folks for ages both baristas and customers. Excellent service and quick to respond to requests. The team clearly enjoy working there and with each other. If you're going to work from this space: Small tables that accommodate 2 chairs line the walls. One wall with short takes has access to outlets. Small bar to stand at the window. A few high boy tables with tall chairs, I don't recall if there are outlets along that wall. I highly recommend buying beans here in store rather than a grocery store! Beans are fresh because they moved quickly here, plus they will ground them for you. read more

Stopped by to get a coffee and pastry at 7a and ask the clerk how the cinnamon roll is. He tells me it usually sells out by 10a so I said it must be good so I'll take one. I then ask how the lemon loaf is and he also tells me it's really good. I said sold, I'll take that too. Last item was a plain croissant for my daughter which is her usual choice of pastry at every coffee shop. As we walked out the store my daughter complains that her croissant tastes a bit stale. I tell no way they pulled it out of a pastry box as if it was just delivered. I take a bite and agreed it was dry and stale. I still had high hopes for my two. Omg, the most dry lemon loaf I've ever had. I can make a better lemon loaf. The loaf lacks flavor and so crumbly. I was so disappointed and was worried my first choice which was the cinnamon roll would be the same. Again super disappointed! Their pastries taste as if it's been sitting out for several days. I will NEVER buy pastries from them again. I give this place 1 star because their coffee was fine but if I could I would give 0 stars for their pastries. Such a waste of money. I frequent Peets almost daily. This location is great, love the staff and I feel so guilty I can't remember the Japanese woman's name, but she is next level with both service and quality of drinks. Go to location. Love the quality of coffee. Last handful of months I've noticed when I come in they are almost always out of baked and/or warm breakfast item. Including the one vegan sandwich item. While I understand coffee and breakfast items are more a morning routine, but I work nights. so more often than not when I'm coming in around 2/3 I've come to expect they won't have food or treats like in the morning. Please stock more vegan food items in general! Staff is lovely, a lot nicer than in years prior. read more

You can also sit next to the window and watch the cars go by on El Camino Real. My favorite sandwich is the new crispy ham and Swiss. The coffee itself is fine, the food is probably OK, as much as any Starbucks pre-made stuff. But this location is completely disorganized. We go there every weekend because it's close to the farmers market. Every week the stuff turnover is between 50% to 100% - every week, not annually. Today the newest person was on the register, it took her 5 minutes to take one order. Another stuff member burst in tears in the middle of a cappuccino. They take a regular coffee order AND FORGET IT EVERY TIME, so it takes longer than a cappuccino. The corporate Peet's need to get their shit together. The service is amazing! Me and my mom were here together as we placed a mobile order. We found out in a few minutes that we may have placed our order in the wrong location (at Millbrae). The guy there gave us a hot cocoa (that was our order). My point is, he helped us get what we requested, even though the order didn't go to his location! The hot cocoa was great! I do not know who trains the people at the Belmont Peets but everytime I go here the coffee is always extremely awesomely delicious. I always get the white mocha made with half and half with whipped cream of course I come here once every two weeks after my Dr. Appointment. Disorganized staff made poor quality drink. Impossible to see from door, but turn right at door to order. One employee on busy afternoon? Why did I try this place again? I waited for grouchy barista to make 4 drinks before cashier emerged from back room. $4.75 medium white mocha. Cashier disappears after ringing up 4 more for fuming barista to make solo. Elderly gent went left at door and waited patiently for barista to take his order. When asked, 'Major Dickason' barked go back around and get in new line. Nice old guy slowly toddled out the door. I know Peet's is less sweet than S'bucks (for same price), but I taste zero choco. I stir, better, but the coffee itself is dreary, place is dark, pastry cabinet is empty, counter is covered in sticky sweeteners and no seats. The coffee is good, the staff is friendly, parking is usually available here. Where there is room for improvement is the store layout. The order counter is way in the back right corner. The bakery case presentation isn't all that appealing. There isn't enough seating in the place and the small round tables are all squished together in the back of the shop. You really have to squeeze your tush in and try not to knock people over with your purse while you are getting in and out of your seat. You can also hear all the conversations around you since the tables are so close together. The next closest Peet's to this one is in San Mateo near Whole Foods. While that shop feels nicer, the parking there is a zoo sometimes so I prefer this location if I am just getting coffee. read more

Came by for my morning cup of coffee to switch things up a bit.. Upon entering from the parking lot side, I noticed two registers and two employees helping customers buy coffee beans and serve drinks... I later notice that drinks were being made in the back of the coffee house and people were waiting back there for drinks too...I didn't see any register back there either... *confused* after a good couple of minutes, I later learn that one has to turn right upon entering and line up to buy coffee...the line at the door is for coffee beans only? .......um yea Coffee was typical Peets..pretty bitter...sort of like dirt tasting... read more

Here I am on the edge of suburbia with Oracle on one side, and nice houses up on the hill on the other. But hmm. Step inside and wow.. Two bucks for a cup of burnt coffee! How could this be? The pastry selection was abysmal as well, but maybe I need to try this place out in the AM, instead of 4pm onwards. They also stipulate that Wi-Fi mavens get only 60 minutes of internet access per purchase, but that's not really enforced. Fine by me! The little warning you get when authenticating to their network certainly doesn't make you feel very welcome nor appreciated. Yeah, I know.. they don't want squatters who buy a single cup of joe and hog the table space all day, but still.. As Peet's go, this is a bad one. They have taken virtually all the space in the center in a large block, leaving only a thin periphery for the coffee shop. Ergo,the whole cafe aura is gone and there are very few tables at which to meet, talk, or work. The coffee is wonderful but the coffee shop / cafe feel is shot by the substitution of retail selling space for tables. read more

I ordered an Almond milk hot chocolate with coconut whip cream. They informed me that they no longer serve coconut whip cream so I got regular whip cream. They charged and I paid an additional $.60 to sub the regular milk with Almond milk. However, instead of giving me a full cup of Almond milk, they watered my drink down by mixing water into my hot chocolate. The drink did not taste good! I also found a short hair hair in my drink. The Starbucks across the street is usually packed and there's no parking anyway, so I'll come to this Peets as I usually have good luck with finding a table. I like that Peets will constantly have deals and discounts if you check in on the Yelp app. I tried their Havana Cappuccino the last time I came in. It was way too sweet for my taste, but not bad and I wouldn't have gotten it if it hadn't been for my $2 off deal. They should get bigger tables here though - I hate the small round tables that will only allow one person to use it at a time, and then that person has to rearrange all their stuff to make it fit on the table, and if you're like me, you like to spread things out and not constantly have to rotate between your books, laptop, writing utensils, etc. The layout of the store is a little weird, the main cash register is all the way on the other side of where you walk in, so it can be confusing to someone at first which direction to go. read more

This is my go to peets and love this place. However I think since few months back something has been off. They closed it some days, and now they close at 2 something. Sometimes the app doesn't work on this location as they say they are too busy. The other day I managed to order from app but when I was there to pick up it was actually not opened! I really hope they get their act together I really don't want to drive to San Carlos, San Carlos peets coffee somehow doesn't taste as good I think they need some training for the barista there, milbrae peets is good. read more
