Cole knows his vehicles, he fixed two of mine that others in Atlanta tried to and couldn't for years. His diagnosis skills are excellent!

So I'm going to list this in pros and cons and explain as I go…read more Pros: + Awesome waiting area - I've been in a lot of auto shops before, and waiting areas are important, but often not paid much attention to when it comes to auto repair shops. I mean, I have been in shops where the waiting room was literally a couch on the side of the garage. This is a tragedy because auto repair usually takes quite some time, especially if they have to order parts for your vehicle. This place, though, has a beautiful waiting area. A water cooler, several nice chairs, a children's play area, a large screen TV, several magazines on topics other than cars, including TIME magazine. There was also a nice bathroom for anyone waiting a while like I was. And on another note, in the bathroom I saw a drawer labeled "feminine products." In an auto shop? It blew my mind. + Good service - I called 3 different auto shops when I was looking to get my brakes done. This one was the only one that actually picked up the phone. They had a regularly manned front desk. The main person who handled the back and forth between the mechanics and me seemed to be knowledgeable about the mechanic side, but also able to deal with customers with ease, which is rare. The rain also started to pick up as I left, so he let me leave out the back instead of having me walk in the rain to my car. + Clean auto shop all around - Not only was the waiting area clean, but the auto shop itself was as well. + Fair pricing and knowledgeable mechanics - All labor and parts are broken down on your bill, and if there is extra work that needs to be done, they will discuss it with you first. It was also nice that they managed to get a picture to show me of the part that needed to be replaced, so I knew they weren't just making stuff up. Cons: + Limited parking at the office - There are only three parking spaces before the mechanic's yard. Two were used when I got there. If anyone had arrived after me, I don't think they would've had anywhere to really park unless they went directly into the yard. In general, this auto shop was very good. For most, the experience would've rated fantastic, however, I'm particularly picky when it comes to auto repair shops. Before I moved to Atlanta, I had a regular mechanic in Oklahoma who was better than any other I've ever had. He was the kind that walked you out to the garage to show you all the problems in person that he found with your car. He also did the job in half the time in comparison to most repair shops. Had he repaired my car on this occasion as well, if I know him, he would've told me the extent of the repair within the first 15 minutes that he was working on the car, and likely had the repair done within two hours. In comparison, it took over an hour and a half for this shop to even ask for my consent for the bulk of the repairs and another 2 and half hours to complete. By industry standards, this shop is still very good, and would be rated probably as one of the best in the area. However, its still not on the same level as the auto shop I had in the past. Therefore, it still left me feeling less than completely satisfied.

I called around later that day to see who could give me a replacement. My car was very new and that was a concern of mine. Even after he checked to see if he had one, he did not, but offered to call and check a few other places. No luck. He suggested I contact the dealership and get it done there. I did however they were charging me over $500 to install a $150 window. I asked Fred how much he'd do it if I bring him the glass and he said $125. Three weeks later, even after talking to my insurance and Kia trying to negotiate with me, Fred's price was the best. And he continued to honor that even after all the time past and he got me in the next day (Christmas Eve at that)!! I really appreciate men like this, where they keep their word and take care of you. The dealership also tried to charge me for two hours of labor and Fred's got me out in 27 minutes! They definitely have won me over as a customer for life and they will always have my #1 recommendations! Thank you so much for excellent customer service. #SupportBlackBusiness

Without our authorization, the shop added brake fluid, claiming the brake pedal went to the floor when they moved the truck into the bay. This was never discussed with us beforehand, nor were we given the opportunity to approve or decline the work. More troubling, within about a mile of leaving the shop, we experienced a complete brake failure. This created a dangerous situation that should never occur after a vehicle has just been serviced. When we contacted the owner, he claimed he had informed us there was a brake shop next door if we needed further service. That statement is simply not true--no such information was provided. While the original issue was fixed, the lack of communication, unauthorized work, and the safety risk we experienced afterward are unacceptable. We strongly recommend others proceed with caution and ensure all work is clearly authorized and explained before service is performed.
