Unfortunately, Pee Wee Patch has gone downhill. What once was a quality center for my children to learn and grow in has now become nothing more than a poorly managed mechanism to suck every last penny out of my pocket. Since the summer of 2013, Pee Wee Patch had suffered an upheaval in the management staff that has resulted in inconsistent and illogical policies regarding billing, snow days, vacation days, etc, poor quality of care, and overall a lack of the warm, nurturing and professional environment that one would look for when trusting a pre-school with the welfare of their child. Stay away from this center. I would give it 0 stars if I could... My son got out of the center to the parking lot on his first day. He was missing clothes every other week and never had many returned, even tennis shoes were missing. Then they changed their policy and failed to notify all parents in regards to the fees assessed to your account if your child is there for more than 10 hours. It was a $140 for 2 kids being picked up 14 minutes after 10 hours!! The paperwork I signed said $10/hr per child, so I disputed it with my credit card and then they forged my initials on an updated document. The best thing I did was leave this place!!! read more

The new direction of the Pee Wee Patch is focused on financials and not education. Our preschooler was enrolled in the Montessori pre-K program because the staff was excellent and qualified to educate his little mind. Shortly after the new director began, the Montessori teacher resigned. Now - no Montessori program. They bought the equipment, which they do not know how to use, bought a certificate from a Montessori Association, and signed up to begin an internship in a Montessori program. But how can the teacher become Montessori certified if she's working in a non-Montessori classroom? We were told we shouldn't worry about it because our son is so smart he will probably be bored in kindergarten. read more

We sent our children to this school for a little over two years, starting when our son was 11 months old. We were initially happy with the center, but about one year in we had increasing problems with the director, high teacher turnover, and a complete lack of communication. We complained, but the director does not care at all what parents have to say. The final straw was when the director herself took our infant daughter out of her crib where she was down for a nap and moved her to a toddler room so she could get the infant room down to a 1 to 4 ratio and cut down on a teacher. (Thankfully some of the teachers are honest and that's why we know this happened). STAY AWAY. This director only cares about the bottom line and not at all about what is best for the children. My only regret is not leaving this center a year sooner. read more

I have mixed feelings about this day care. The director Collette seemed much more interested in profitability than the needs of the parents. Prior to my daughter leaving, Pee Wee had instituted a $5 per minute late policy. I had never heard of such a policy and the only thing that came to mind was highway robbery! I heard that after we left the rate went up again. Can you imagine 20 minutes late and get charged $100?? To make this matter more complicated Pee Wee also instituted a 10 hour time window constraint that your kids can be there. Any other day care I've reviewed it's normally a 12 or 12.5 hour window. In addition Pee Wee has you pick a 10 hour window. In the morning, You're not allowed to arrive early but you are allowed to arrive late. And at the end of the day, if you arrive late (after your time window) you get charged $5 per minute. So if you arrive slightly late in the morning and still less than 10 hours total time, Pee Wee will charge $5 late fee. This happened to me a couple times. Shocked I questioned Collette why there was $200 extra on the weekly bill. Response was I had exceeded the 10 hour time window. As program Manager in Automotive I had to take some of my calls on the way and inside the day care because Collette had no flexibility to the late policy. I tried to explain this to her but there was no empathy for my career choice. I don't work bankers hours sorry. The end of my work day is not consistently the same. We have now switched to a day care that does not constrain your window of time (although the day care is open 12.5 hours). Other day cares I've asked cannot understand Pee Wees billing policy and neither do I. The staff below Collette is what kept us at Pee Wee as long as we did. They did treat our daughter well. However, ultimately the need for greed and inflexibility on the billing policy sent us running for the hills. Beware about their billing policy before enrolling your kids here. read more

We, too, have left Pee Wee Patch. It's a shame that the center is having these difficulties, especially since they all seem to have come about with the management change that happened in the middle of August. Having been in three centers with my children, it is easy to be impressed by letters after a person's name, by prestigious awards, or by the sales job one receives during a tour; however the real test of quality is what happens day in and day out. Out-of-state owners, radical and confusing changes in policies, mid-contract rate increases, the rarely-seen, door's-always-closed director, and perhaps most importantly, a noticeable decline in customer service, all point to what may not be the "best of the best!" The conflict over the Montessori program is most disconcerting, as Pee Wee Patch has laid claim to being the only center in Oakland County offering parents a choice of curricula for their children. It's very, very interesting that there has been so much controversy regarding that classroom since the new director started. This might make one question her commitment to that ability to choose. Other questions: What changed, and why? Why did the Montessori class need thousands and thousands of dollars in new equipment, and why does the responder mention it three times in her comments? Regardless of Pee Wee Patch's affiliation with IMS, what is gained by that, and by whom are the children being taught? Is the well-known Montessori philosophy and approach being used throughout the classroom environment, or just in regards to the aforementioned, seemingly expensive, materials? Biggest question: Why is there so much disagreement, and how is it affecting the students? Now, Ellen T. says the center has a third program choice for students. Watch out! Success in one arena does not automatically mean expertise in all. Parents need to decide for themselves which center, and which program, best meets their needs. By all means, visit Pee Wee Patch, but be sure to ask the hard questions! read more

I used to be very happy with this faciltiy years ago, but have recently put my kids back in and they have all new staff and management. The staff that took care of my kidndergartener seemed very unprofessional and never introduced herself to me and was spilling cereal allover the floor complaining when I first met her. In addition they have wrongfully withdrew money from my account on multiple occasions each time reassuring me it wouldnt happen again but it did repeatedly. I finally pulled my kids and they continued to take money from me and never responded to returning my money only blamed me for this. I agree with the previous review stating they are not concerned with the well being of the children only the financial aspect, I was extremely patient with this matter until I was set aside and blamed for their mistakes. Their front staff is the only staff that is still there and the only competent employee there. Their biulling deaprtment and communication is terrible as well as their busiment management. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. read more
