After bringing our child here for months we are not impressed. We have asked multiple doctors here…read moreabout many first time parent things, and none of them give solid usable information. I'm not sure that these doctors are much better than pharmacists and nurses who only know what medications to prescribe and how to do quick check-ups. Dr. Ward: after telling him that our baby hated tummy time and cried through it all the time, he said "oh that's normal" instead of suggesting that we offer things for the baby to look at during tummy time so that she enjoys it. FOR 3 MONTHS our baby hated tummy time and was miserable, then we saw a developmental therapist who told us how to make it fun for her, and voila! much better! WHY DID WE AND OUR BABY HAVE TO SUFFER THROUGH 3 MONTHS OF THAT because he was too lazy to mention anything. And why would we even think to research it online if our peditrician said it's fine how we're doing it? Dr. Chassie: Seems ok but easily gets defensive if I ask detailed information about things that a normal first time parent would ask. OK SORRY FOR ASKING QUESTIONS...BUT WHAT ARE YOU BEING PAID FOR DR? She sometimes didn't want to discuss issues with the baby unless we had video evidence of the issue...just ridiculous. Dr. Knox: was especially rude any time we wanted to discuss something that he did not feel like discussing about our child, and he would refuse testing/referrals/discussion/and any other basic requests that parents make of pediatricians. He would rather argue for 20 minutes about something we would ask than write a stupid referral or offer any helpful advice...what a joke. Guess what, we are not seeing a pediatrician to be treated like that, so we will likely go somewhere else. All 3 of these doctors don't seem to think that sleep is of any importance to babies, and when we would ask them MULTIPLE TIMES about it, and express that we are having major problems and that the baby BARELY sleeps, they ALL brushed off the subject. Meanwhile, developmental, lactation, physical, and other therapists all have agreed that sleep is EXTREMELY important for babies and their development and have given us more helpful info on the subject. But for some mysterious reason, the doctors at this location feel that sleep and other basics are uninteresting topics and offer no information about sleep that first time parents would need to know. Having a child's basic human needs be completely overlooked by these doctors is extremely negligent and is not what we are paying for. They literally would rather talk for 10 minutes about how the baby is fine and everything is normal even though she's not sleeping for more than 6 hours a day. And yet it would only take 2 MINUTES for them to offer some real info and advice on where else to do research if they don't feel like discussing it. And meanwhile, everyone else with a degree says that babies need 14-17 hours of sleep per day.....hmmm interesting...so WHY are these doctors incapable of offering help in this subject? We often had to go 3 times to see each doctor and ask the same question of each one just to get only partially helpful information from them (but nobody helped about sleep), therefore we will find a different pediatrician. It's the total opposite of a desired experience and I do not recommend that any first time parents go here. Questions that you ask will be brushed off in the interest of telling you that everything is fine with your child. Nobody feels like taking the time to go over anything with you and gets defensive just because you ask detailed questions, which is stupid. The least they could do is tell you what to search for online or who else to see (types of therapists etc), but 90% of the time they don't feel like doing that and you will be left completely in the dark. It's exhausting going here and being told that we should just let our baby make it's own rules and not even try to step up as parents by providing normal routines to assist with our child's development. And absolutely nevermind if you want someone to go above and beyond and help you with something that you DIDN'T notice yourself...oh no...you better notice EVERYTHING on your own about your baby because these doctors are not perceptive or interested enough to go above and beyond. We received way more help from social and community networks than from these doctors in all areas. They only did wellness checks the first two appointments and then never wanted to see the baby except for vaccines after that. And when we made followup appointments for concerns, we were always told that it should be a focused appointment on just the areas that we are concerned with and that there wasn't enough time to discuss things in length. Cool, thanks for the help, but like I said at least offer a clue as to what to do, a referral, anything actually helpful besides telling us everything is fine and to shut up.

The Bristol Pediatric Center is not somewhere I look forward to going for my daughter's yearly…read morecheckups for one reason in particular: the nurses. I find them to be so incredibly rude, especially one whom I will not name specifically. They tend to be very impersonal and dismissive, and super jaded to boot. One visit, I became faint while watching my daughter get a shot. I grew dizzy and began to get major tunnel vision. I was leaning against the hallway wall so scared that I was about to pass out and this nurse said in a rather snippy tone, "You cannot stand here!" After frantically attempting to explain that I was feeling weak and needed to sit down she was so hesitant to help me out-- I, a sick woman, in a dr's office! Later, I received a call fasking if everything was ok. I simply replied 'yes' not mentioning my distaste of the entire incident. Sad to say, in recent visits the nurses' demeanors have not really improved. I stick with it only for Dr Ward. As everyone says, he's great at what he does, just the right man for the job. For that, I am grateful.

We feel beyond lucky to have then helping us with our newborn. Dr. Stephen is AMAZING, refreshing,…read moregentle but thorough, intuitive... and pretty darn funny, he's always a relief and an encouragement to see. We've had plenty of first time parent concerns and he's tackled them all super timely and with a way of explaining things that calms us and gives us more confidence every time. And we were amazed with Katie, the Lactation Consultant. she has decades of experience, she CHANGED our world!! we brought in our 5 day old baby and she completely turned me around with her knowledge base. I brought him in with me and nursed him with her help so that she could observe. She reframed so much of what the hospital told me generically and tailored it to me and our son based on how and what she saw. and she was spot on! he was happier, less frustrated and trusted me to read his cues correctly and get what he needed. it was an instant fix, I can't get enough of her!! She makes herself available by phone too if tou can't make it to her in person. She and Dr. Stephen are in this with you every step, honestly we couldn't have asked for more caring human beings to help guide us.

Ok so I don't know about the rest of you moms who grew up in the 80s and 90s but I hated going to…read morethe doctor as a kid. They were nice and all but it just sucked. My kids LOVE going to the dr. They literally ask to go. Even if there are shots involved they like being there. When the heck does that ever happen? Dr. Nikki is more than a doctor. She is someone my 13 year old daughter looks up to and my 7 year old son wants to marry. I trust her and when it comes to your kids that is something you need to have for peace of mind. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
