I've never encountered a more appalling and disgraceful business, let alone a healthcare organization, in my entire life.
For years, we entrusted Peconic Pediatrics with the care of our two children. However, when a local pediatrician opened an office much closer to our home and our children's school, we naturally switched for the convenience. Unfortunately, this pediatrician has now relocated, and I contacted Peconic Pediatrics to move my children back under their care. This morning, I was informed that this would not be possible due to their shockingly unethical policy that forbids children from receiving any medical treatment if they have sought care from another pediatrician. This reprehensible policy is the most egregious breach of medical ethics I have ever encountered. I was left utterly speechless as I spoke with multiple staff members, desperately hoping this was some kind of absurd misunderstanding. Surely, no decent medical organization would ever deny care to children in need.
Peconic Pediatrics holds a near monopoly on pediatric care in our area, making it incredibly difficult to find another provider without having to drive significant distances. This makes their policy even more malicious, as it exploits their dominant position to punish families for seeking convenient care options.
I have no illusions that this complaint will spur any change in Peconic Pediatrics' behavior. Medical organizations like this have repeatedly demonstrated their willingness to prioritize profit over patients' well-being. Thank you for effectively telling my children to go to hell. read more
