I have been a patient at family orthodontic care for several years…read more Having braces as a teen I was not looking forward to going through the process a second time. As with many adults my teeth shifted which caused spaces and I felt it would be worth the effort. The entire staff could not be more knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I had braces for the second time for about two years. One of the services that stands out is you continue to be a patient years after your braces are removed. A couple of years after I finished my treatment my teeth moved and Family orthodontic care said they would correct the space with invisiline free of charge. If you are thinking of getting corrective measures for your teeth look no further than Family Orthodontic Care

Dr. Lowny's reputation, amazing volunteer work and great professionalism speak for themselves day in and day out. From the very beginning I was not just told, but taught what was going to happen all the way from the beginning to the very end and aftercare. Not only was the treatment amazing, I was so impressed with all the staff and really enjoyed setting up appointments with Jim at the front desk.. I had a solid 2 years of treatment with traditional braces and also had a forsus appliance for a while-I think about 6 months, which helped align my teeth and jaw structure even further, giving me the smile and healthy mouth I always wanted and never thought I could have. I'm so pleased with my treatment and also how I was treated all the way through even to the post treatment care! I recommend them to anyone of any age, they are well suited and confident from the years of service they've provided. They also have a huge client base, which is another testament of their quality... My hat is off to this facility and all they do

I saw him because another doctor in the practice was not available. I am in the medical field…read moremyself and I would never treat a patient of mine in such a condescending manner as he treats a patient. I have been having pain since I was eleven years old. I know how my body works and my pain is very real and it is a real problem. Was told verbatim and I quote, "your pain is in your head". I couldnt believe a dr would say that to me; when I tried to see someone else in his practice I had to get my therapist to call them and advocate for me because they would not return my calls. They told my therapist I was filing a lawsuit against them and slammed the phone on her, (whom by the way is the kindest sweetest old lady), when I had no such intention. I am on medicaid and dont even have money to do such a thing; nor would I want to as I am not a vindictive person. I went to another practice in New Britain and finally had laporoscopic surgery and was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis. I dont want other women to go through what I went through. I want Drs to know women cannot be treated this way. We are people not pieces of meat and a paycheck and our pain is real and we deserve to have our medical problems taken seriously. I sincerely hope no one else is dismissed in such a way and his practice starts treating women more empathetically and not gas light them into believing they are crazy and their pain is fake or "in their head".

We've brought our son here since the beginning, he is currently 16 months…read more We had initially heard raving reviews from friends saying that Dr. Harwin is the best there is. Due to his popularity, we've ended up seeing just about everyone in the office except for him. Everyone there is pretty great though. Finally, for his 1 year check up we got in with Harwin and now we can see why he is so booked. He's super nice, great with our son and clear the understand (meaning he speaks to us as normal people, not doctoral colleagues with crazy medical terms). We enjoyed him so much that we made all of our next scheduled appointments for the next year already so that we could be sure the dates line up with dates that he'll be in the office we'd like to go to. The same pediatricians work between both the Branford (over near Bill Miller's Castle) and North Branford (in the Pastry Fusions plaza) offices. Additionally, the big kicker, they have weekend hours! There is an answering service on Saturdays AND Sundays. They call you back and figure things out. I think on more than one occasion our son had crazy cases of pink eye and ear infections and we were able to bring him in to be seen and got the care on the day we needed it right away. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is the fact that, well the following: One time we brought our son for his winter flu shot. I think shortly after that visit, he developed pink eye so they said to bring him in to be seen. When we were there they said that pink eye was like running ramped in their office. Hmm, how interesting how our son attends daycare, no one at daycare had pink eye....so where did he get it from? Touching surfaces there while getting his flu shot prior? A few months go by, our son has pink eye again, which by this time it is pretty obvious to us what it is and the signs of it. So we call the office to ask if they could call it in to the pharmacy and they wouldn't unless we brought him in to be seen (along with a $25 copay for it). Basically, this is why I feel it runs ramped in the office, because everyone and their brother have to go in there with it. It's not like we were having them call into the pharmacy for Xanax or Oxys, we aren't going to go out on the streets selling eye drops. Come on now, hahaha. Other than that, this place is truly awesome and happy we decided to go with them for our son's care.

My children have been patients of this practice for almost 20 years…read more While the physicians remain wonderful the front desk staff are absolutely horrendous. Today, neither my son nor I were even greeted, but shuffled in like oxen. The receptionist was incredibly rude and abrasive. The phone kept ringing and she ignored it. The great family feeling has left this group. It's just not what it was. If only they'd realize what it costs a practice when the front desk staff are deplorable. Add Covid to the mix and this practice just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn't recommend to a new family anymore. Not worth the headache. Securing a decent pediatric staff when you're a new parent should be the LEAST of your concerns. It shouldn't ADD to your stress level. This group - ups the ante to nuclear level anxiety
