Peck Park is great, lights at night. People on the Tennis Courts are nice. Tennis Courts are safe. The rowdy's don't go there. Join us for doubles 8 to 10 AM M, W & Friday RSPV Steve@SteveShorr.com

Really cool park. Aside from the skateboard part and bbq areas, the walking path is really cool. Super beginner level walk good for the entire family. We walked almost the entire path and it was maybe 3 miles. Thus path is all hard packed dirt with some slight elevation changes. So a nice easy walk with good views of long beach and nice forest lime path areas. We will do this one for sure.

*slaps park* This bad boy can fit so many picnics in it. I sometimes just like scrolling through Google Maps and choosing random places and then going to them. My life is exciting, I know. That was how I came across Peck Park, which isn't named after "Drake & Josh" star Josh Peck, I found out much to my disappointment. Peck Park is definitely larger than I thought. There is a nice hilly grassy area that can indeed host plenty of picnics, barbecues, frisbee tosses, and basically any other outdoor activity you can think of. I walked around a bit, and I saw the secluded trail alongside a river with discarded shopping cards. Couldn't quite muster up the courage to go into that trail alone, but I'm sure it's...fine? Anyways, I also checked out the skatepark, which featured some pretty good ramps. Heard also there's some tennis courts and playareas here, but I was still kind of tearing up that the park was not named after the actor who played Josh Nichols--brother of Drake Parker--that I decided to just leave.

Very beautiful park with many matured trees. Parking is easy walking distance to the play ground and they even have a basketball court. Park is newly updated and very clean. There are two different entrances and I came from western entrance and you will see from the pictures I capture just how beautiful the park truly is. #christenwebbphotography

Great park to get some exercise done. Only downside is a lot of the "rift raft" hanging around at times.

Then we would continue to AP to eat lunch and feed the ducks which the kids loved to do. Averill is a nice, peaceful spot to escape the rat race for a short while and recharge before continuing with the stress and demands of daily life. Many students, unfortunately, live in foster homes that rarely take the children out into the community to learn how to function in the REAL world. Too many are placed in front of the TV when they are not at school, just being fed and receiving the bare minimum of personal care so CBI is important for them to be able to function in the community after they become adults and age out from qualifying for foster care anymore. The benches by the lake or the gazebo located in the upper part towards the northeast part of AP are especially restful areas to regain your sense of sanity and to recharge. If you happen to be in Pedro, bring a snack and beverage so you can spend time with the ducks and enjoy some downtime in a peaceful place.

Started off someplace else and just continued on to see and stop off at all the locations nearby. There's a good amount of parking along the street as well as some along the neighborhood. The park itself is overly big but it does have a good size to it. The nice massive trees lined the area. There's a nice little path along the sides where it looks out to the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs below. It was low tide so seeing the tide pools was quite beautiful. Along the path are little covered area which are label by number. Like mini covered patio with a table and seat. They too all looks out to the water. I believe there was a total of 8 seating enclosures along the path. Also, loads of squirrels roaming the place like it's nothing. They are not scared of you so be warn. Clearly there were signs not to feed the wildlife but there was people out with bags of peanuts feeding them. In the middle of the park is a little stage area and with benches. I'm sure they have theatre in the park happening if that's set up. And a playground around the side of it. There's also a lighthouse which is a focal point of the park. Situated right in the middle which now double as a museum. It's a cute park that I never knew about. Decent size for picnics or a nice wander around. The view alone along the path was spectacular. The cliff edge is dangerous so practice caution. Common sense, but they also had signs posted about suicides. It's a cute neighborhood park as along the front are homes right across the street.

In my short visit, I saw families, romantic couple and a guy jamming out on a guitar and a motorcycle club taking a rest break.

Though the county took an epically long time to fix it, the street has since been repaired, but they chose not to reopen the street. Before, Paseo Del Mar was accessible to Western Avenue. Like many of the neighbors, I am glad that they chose to keep it closed. In the past, people would speed down this street with little disregard for those walking, running, or biking. Lots of people use this route to run or walk and also walk their dogs. Most people are friendly and will wave or say good morning as they go by. There are 2 little mini parks along this path that people can relax at, in addition to going down to Point Fermin park, where the famous lighthouse is located. I've seen some people sit and have picnics or sit in their cars and enjoy the views. I've also seen some of the neighbors have a house party and people overflow to the parks. The sunrises and sunsets are amazing and at times, you can hear the water crashing below. Many of the homes over here are beautiful and some are in need of renovations, but either way the eclecticness of the neighborhood comes together beautifully. For the most part, people take good care of their homes. There are some losers who park and smoke weed right here and try to look all innocent as you go by, but it's reeking from their car, so you know what they're doing. So yes, this area does attract some riff-raff, but for the most part, I've never had an issue working out over here whether it's daylight or night. It's a pretty safe area and the police often drive back and forth down here and throughout the neighborhoods.
