I went in for my check up which was over due.(covid restrictions) The process was fast and painless. The doc made it easy to understand and follow directions and I spent more time working on the actual prescription then with the doctor. John was great explaining all the details to me. I wanted to use an existing pair of frames but somehow they got broken while in their care and John went ahead and got me a replacement for my frames NO CHARGE. Excellent choice too and followed up with me throughtout the process. I got a new phone so had to figure out voicemail before calling them back. SORRY ;( Everything was good and I ordered 2 pairs of glasses. The 2nd pair was for reading but I noticed when I wore them had a weird smell when I put them on. Like chicken soup and they made my eyes water so I could not use them. I took them in and spoke to John about it and John cleaned them but the smell persisted as did the watering of my eyes. I went in again about a week later and Jenny was able to get the nose pads changed out. I figured out it was the nose pieces plastic breaking down. I remembered a smell like this from my vintage vinyl dolls. Thank you to JENNY Marinez who took the time to listen and swapped out the nose pads for me and it has been great since. I have visited this location for many many years and still am a loyal customer even though in the last couple years a lot of things have changed... the doctor is very nice, the appointments are convenient and the selection of glasses and sunglasses is excellent. I understand that employees change from time to time and I miss my favorite salesperson but the new ones are very nice. One drawback is that they do not make the glasses on site anymore they mail it out which takes longer. read more

I am beyond disgusted by my experience with Pearl Vision, and I feel obligated to share the details of this appalling interaction. Buckle up. (Stick around to the end, there's more) I called Pearl Vision to ask a straightforward question: whether their optometrist had the a) medical ability and b) on-site capability to provide on-site treatment for specific conditions, like draining a stye (not just prescribing). I had previously liked the optometrist there and was hoping to get more clarity. Julie answered the phone, and from the very first moment, her attitude was nothing short of condescending and dismissive. I started by asking if the doctor could handle conditions like styes or blepharitis. She confirmed that the doctor was an optometrist, then unhelpfully suggested I could see an ophthalmologist also. I pointed out that it would be silly to pay two doctors for the same thing, and sought to find out more to determine if the doctor could, in fact, help me. That's when her tone took a sharp turn. Julie responded to me as though I had said something absurd, speaking slowly, and in a tone that was dripping with condescension. It was as if she thought I couldn't comprehend basic information. I tried to clarify my actual concern--that I wanted to know if the optometrist was able to perform a procedure like draining a stye on site, or something like that needed to be referred out. This wasn't a question about qualifications, but on-site capabilities. Julie continued to misunderstood my question and immediately became defensive. Instead of listening or attempting to clarify, she kept repeating the same information with that same patronizing tone. Each time I tried to rephrase my question, she would cut me off, talk over me, raise her voice, and continue to talk down to me as if I were incapable of understanding anything. I was stunned by her attitude. When I calmly pointed out that I didn't appreciate how she was speaking to me, rather than reflecting on her behavior, Julie became even more hostile. She raised her voice and accused me of being the one in the wrong. She said I was being aggressive simply because I was attempting to clarify, and I wasn't willing to put up with her disrespect. At no point did she offer an apology, nor did she acknowledge her increasingly hostile tone. The entire time, Julie treated me as though I was some sort of inconvenience, not a valued customer with a legitimate question. Her refusal to listen or engage respectfully was insulting enough, but the fact that she blamed me for her condescending treatment was beyond the pale. She escalated the situation when I attempted to de-escalate it, and the blame-shifting was simply outrageous. This wasn't just a bad customer service experience--it was blatant hostility from someone who clearly has no regard for the people she's supposed to help. I've been a customer of Pearl Vision before, and while I've always appreciated the optometrist and Erica (both are incredibly helpful and customer-centric), this interaction with Julie has made it clear that I can no longer support a business that allows this level of disrespect to go unchecked. Julie's behavior was completely unacceptable--she treated me like a child, refused to be held accountable, and was outright hostile when I questioned her attitude. Her inability to handle a simple customer inquiry without turning it into an antagonistic, blame-filled exchange is appalling. She clearly lacks the professionalism and basic decency required to interact with customers. At the very least, this behavior reflects incredibly poorly on the entire establishment. And to Pearl Vision: spare me the predictable rebuttal. I fully expect that any response will just be more of the same--deflecting blame away from Julie and onto me, just like she did on the call. I'm not interested, and neither is anyone else reading this. Make no mistake: Julie's conduct was disgraceful, and if this business has any standards for customer service, she should not be representing them. It's unacceptable, and frankly, shameful, that someone with such blatant disregard for professionalism and respect is allowed to continue treating customers this way. - A few days later, I went in and spoke with the store manager because I had to pick up my glasses. Erica, the store manager, is really lovely. She had been incredibly patient with me when I was picking out my sunglasses and it took forever. At my last visit, I shared the details of my upsetting experience, and she promised to work on it. She said she would keep me posted. Fingers crossed that they do. The wonderful Time to get your eyes checked, thankfully they're not doing the dilation they're taking pictures, which is a fun experience ha ha ha ha. When I first walked in I will say that this Practice truly practices social distancing and standard for cautions to reduce or illuminate COVID-19 transmission. First off they keep the door locked so they let you in one person at a time. You have to sanitize your hands upon walking in and of course wearing a mask. The customer service I have to say was outstanding. I was fortunate enough to be able to work with Gail and Lisa for my eye exam and checking out. Both maintained a phenomenal client centered approach to putting the client needs first as well as balancing it with a great sense of humor. Both of them truly made me feel that I was valued. Next I want to talk about my eye exam with Dr. Brandon Sudduth, OD. I have to say out of all the eye exams I've ever had he by far was the best I've doctor. He took his time he exploring things in detail and such a way that I am just did what he was same and he was very focused on my eye health. I was impressed with his eyes side manner can't say bedside manner in this case but he was phenomenal and I was very impressed. Finally I want to talk about the gentleman who helped me with selecting potential frames, still debating. Turned out he was the store manager, John Keen. He took his time, starting with the on sale Frame's first which truly demonstrated that he was not about the sale but what about the client being happy with what they were getting. Of course nothing was there that met my attention and why did the costly was a good price. John was very thorough in his communication, placing what I felt was important as his priority. I can see why Lisa and Gail do as well as they do, it starts at the top. Overall among Dr. Sudduth, Lisa, Gail, and John I was most impressed with this practice and I will be back. read more

I visited under duress as my 35th Birthday granted me the gift of needing an eyewear prescription. (Thanks 35!) But I must say that the prescribing doctor, DONALD, and the girls working the desk and doing the prep work at Mandarin Pearl Vision are the DREAM TEAM! The process of setting up my appoint, getting eye examined, and picking the perfect pair of Ray Ban (I'm a Ray Bans girl) spectacles (plus a pair prescription Ray Ban sunnies just to be safe, and because I was sad) was a breeze! In the spirit of TMI... I discovered that I have 20/20 vision in my left eye and 20/70 in the right! My right eye is getting old, y'all! But let's talk about DONALD who bore the brunt of the shenanigans during my visit. He's a customer service CHAMPION! First, when I arrived, he ushered me over to my exam. When that part was over, and I came out kinda' teary eyed, he picked me up with the thrill of shopping with a great companion! He did it all... locked in on my style profile, showed me a million options, tried, failed, repeatedly went back to the drawing board, finally stationed me in front of the Ray Ban tower, laughed and joked, sang with me along to the streaming music playing in store, pulled up my insurance and crunched the numbers, waited while I took selfies to see if they were cute and passed the selfie test, had me lean over and shake my head to check the fit, taught me about the appropriate gap to bridge of nose ratio, helped me decide on lenses (the sunnies are polarized, whatever that means, and I went with transition lenses for my new glasses-- Donald promised me that "it doesn't work like that" and I wouldn't be sitting inside a building with dark lenses on-- that was my fear! lol)! All in all, Donald at Pearl Vision is the best and I can't wait to pick up my new pairs of Ray Bans on Monday! -- oh yeah, and see clearer in my right eye. I wish I could give this review no stars front desk needs more attentiveness listening to patients instead of cutting them off. was very rude and cutted me off twice loves to medically gaslight pregnant women to not get their eyes dilated with drops and instead do the $30 dilation alternative because it affects pregnant women when it doesn't. Sometimes you just need a good experience to wipe away a recent bad one. Well this was it for me. I walked in with my normal smile and positive outlook. I was greeted promptly by two sales associates. Donald was the closest to the door, so I walked over to him. We got right down to business. I looked at everything that was on display and still couldn't find the funky frames I wanted. He assured me they have it. He wasn't wrong. After being the annoying customer and trying EVERYTHING...he found my frames. I could not have done it by myself. Donald really made all the difference for me. He verified my insurance and I place my order. Fast forward 2 DAYs!!! And they are ready for pick up. Are you kidding me? The other place, Pullen Eye Care was going to take 10 business days. Bought a pair of glasses with Focus 244 plastic tortoise shell frame. The plastic began to disintegrate after 3 months. They replaced the frame with same. Three months later they started disintegrating too. The store would not replace a 3rd time and said they could not switch lenses to a metal frame, even at my expense. So the frames lasted 6 months total. Went to Trillium and they were happy to pop my lenses into a different frame for $99. Make sure to ask about their warranty and get it in writing. Any vets reading this should know you can get a free exam and glasses for 1/2 the price of commissioned sales. Funny how the smiling faces turn into mean scowls when there's a problem. read more

Wow. Went to get glasses. My son had broken his. They said all glasses were BOGO and my daughter wanted one. Spent too much time so carved out time to come back to get her pair. Went back and was told we were misinformed and that it's per patient. Thanks for wasting my time. I also spent $500 on Prada sunglasses the first visit there and regretted that. Well.... I had just given them a 5 star review. Then a few days later I get the phone call. Just a review of charges before we get your payment and place the order for your contacts. Ok great. So....this charge, this charge, etc and the $200.00 charge for the fitting on your new contacts. Well, I explained, the doctor stated this to me. Your contacts look fine on your eyes so we are NOT going to do a fitment on your eyes for your new contacts, we will use your old prescription . are you ok with this, I replied yes. So NO fitment procedure was done. Well, it was explained to me, this is our billing procedure and you have to pay this if you want your new contacts. I asked if I could speak with a manage there, no, he will give you the same answer. Since the procedure was not done and I remember the process and how long it takes would you be willing to split it ? answer NO. So after 10 rounds it was, pay it or we don't order your contacts.
