****************RUDE**************** I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE!!! I called the Pearl Vision in Dalton, Ga several weeks ago and spoke to the Hispanic girl who answered the phone. I told her that I was looking for the Silhouette brand rimless frames and she said that they carried them so I asked if they could make the lenses wider to accommodate my wider face and she said she would check. She put me on hold then came back on the line and said that they could do it. So I said let's go ahead with scheduling me an appointment. The only date available was Christmas Eve at 10:15 so I agreed that would work. Fast forward to my appointment, my fiancé and I get there early so I can try on frames. We walk in and was greeted by the Hispanic girl that I spoke to on the phone. We told her that I was there for my appointment, she asked for my insurance card so I gave it to her. We started looking at frames for a few minutes and the Hispanic girl calls us back over to the front desk to ask us to sign the paperwork for the exam expenses. I politely declined to sign until I could double check and make sure they could accommodate my need for the extra wide lenses as I have ran into this problem at other doctors where they "lock me in" so I cannot go anywhere else to get my frames covered by my insurance. The older lady sitting next to her that took my email information (Holly) then rudely said that I had to sign and that I was responsible for the cost no matter what and that the frames were a completely separate thing. We calmly tried to explain our situation 2 more times, each time she got louder and more hateful, demanding that I go ahead and sign. All in front of the hispanic girl and another customer sitting right behind me. Finally, she told us to talk to the optician who was across the room. The optician was polite but told us they did not have a technician who could make custom lenses even though we were told they could over the phone. I told her how rude Holly was and she was very quick to apologize and said she would have a talk with her. On my way out the door I turned to Holly and said "ma'am, next time don't be so rude." Then she yells sarcastically across the building "Merry Christmas, Sir." I left and I will never do business here because I do not like liars, having my time wasted, and having to deal with rudeness on top of it all. Hopefully management will make some changes in staff. read more

Stopped by on a whim to see if they could adjust my sunglasses that had just been dropped. The front office staff and eyeglasses technician were extremely gracious and helpful. The office was clean and seemed well run. The technician was very kind and quickly made the adjustment and cleaned my lenses. When she learned I did not have an appointment for an exam, she kindly said I was free to go. I offered to pay for the adjustment so I was pleasantly surprised to have this completed complimentary. This office seems a cut above and the staff made my day. read more

I found some Anne Klein frames at Pearle Vision that I absolutely had to have. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to find optimal service at either of the locations I visited. In Dalton, Kirk helped me with my purchase. He was really patient and gave his opinion about several of the frames I was considering. I put in my order and left happy. After a week, I called to see if my glasses were ready. A girl answered and said she would go check. After 14 minutes and 12 seconds on hold, I hung up and called back. The girl apologized, and I gave her my phone number and asked her to call me back after she checked the status of my glasses. She said she would call back ASAP. Two and a half hours later, I called again and spoke to someone else. She immediately said my glasses were ready, so I drove to Dalton. When I arrived at PV, I was informed that the lenses of my two pairs of glasses hadn't been properly formulated to be anti-glare. Only my sunglasses were ready. I had to wait another week for my others. The next day, my mother returned to this PV to order some glasses for herself. A woman asked if she could help, and my mother showed her the frames she wanted. The girl set the frames down and walked away. Several minutes later, another woman came and asked my mother if she needed help. My mother explained that a young girl was supposed to be getting her glasses...oh, no. The girl had been sent on her lunch break. The point is, I think this PV has variable customer service. They have Spanish-speaking staff members, which is a plus, but that can't compensate for their occasional negligence in other areas. I love my glasses, but I might go to another PV next time. read more

I have been using Pearl Vision in Dalton GA for years and had no complaints. During my recent yearly eye exam I found a new doctor there, Nick Malerbi. Overall the visit was ok but once I was presented with the bill there was a $ 39.00 charge for contact lens fitting which apparently consisted of the doctor moving around my contacts with his finger. I did not request this nor was I notified what he was doing (less than a 30 sec eye poke with his finger) this exam nor did he tell me anything about it. I told this exact thing to the doctor and the lady behind the counter, their attitude was careless, the only thing they could tell me is that there is nothing they can do, not even a sorry of any kind. Just another perfect example how an average consumer is getting taken advantage of by the medical system. read more

After not having my eyes examined for over a year, I figured it was time to get it done. I chose Pearle Vision in Dalton after several great references. Dr. Malerbi examed my eyes quickly, efficiently, and very courteously. He finally got me my correct prescription without any hassle. (I have had a lot of bad experiences with Target Optical). Ryan helped me pick out the perfect pair of frames. He saw the shape of my face and asked my favorite style of glasses and had me try on maybe 6 pairs. After narrowing it down to 2, I finally went with the cutest pair of Kate Spade glasses. It was so refreshing to not have to be overwhelmed by the hundreds of frames trying on dozens to see what I liked. After only waiting FOUR days (way shorter than expected) I picked them up and later had Ryan adjust them. He got me the perfect fit in only minutes. I would strongly recommend this Pearle Vision to anyone in the Northwest Georgia Area. read more

My husband and I scheduled our eye exam appointments online at 5:15pm and 5:30pm with Dr. Gross. We showed up at 5:00 and had finished all our paper work by 5:10. We didn't get called back until 5:30 where we were then seated beside the examination room. Unfortunately, the door to the exam room was open and Dr. Gross and another patient were talking about anxiety issues totally unrelated to the eye appointment. We were already tired of waiting, but said nothing. Finally 20 minutes later, we were both called back. Dr. Gross asked me if I had my previous prescription with me and plainly got upset that I didn't. He then said rudely that since I already had an eye exam that year and that I was out of time to get it (by then it was 6:00pm on New Years Eve). My husband told him that our insurance would pay for 2 eye exams per year and he interrupted him and snapped, "Well, if they don't pay for it, I just won't charge you for it; we just need to get out of here, it's time to close". He rushed through my exam and neither me or my husband could explain we were going to put everything on our FSA card that the insurance wouldn't cover anyway. After my exam he went on about a problem he thought I might have but 99% sure an opthamologist would not even worry about, but thought I should have a referral. He kept on repeating about that, though there was no need. I was still polite through the whole thing. He was also rude during my husbands exam! The staff were polite and competent, but I have never been treated or talked to by any health care provider like that in my life and am still shocked by it. I assume that even though we paid almost $600 out of pocket for our eye glasses and have good insurance coverage, it was not enough to get treated like a human being by this doctor. I wouldn't prefer this place at all to anybody. Got my eyes checked almost 3 weeks back and was told that I would receive the glasses within a week. I waited for a week and called to check on status and they said it would be another week till it will be ready. Still waited 2nd week and called back and was told AGAIN another week. I was quite upset but didn't have another choice because I left my frame there and I needed those done as soon as possible. So finally, after this long time period of wait I was told I would have it ready on Friday and now today I get call from them telling me that they broke the frame I left there and they can't fix it anymore. I left my expensive frame there expecting them to do things alright for me but no after long wait I get the major excuse of them braking it. The store owner wasn't even sorry in fact, he is was rude to me. All he could offer me would be 75% off on any frame but I still have to pay for my lenses which was $250 and whatever frame I purchase. It would still cost me more than my eye exams. Basically I am paying $250 for lenses plus eye exam and if I happen to select a random frame from store which will be expensive even after 75% off will still nearly come across $100 minimum. I chose to take my money back for everything but they couldn't do that. All I got back was only for my lenses which I had paid them. I had been going with them for last 3 years but it seems like no more because they can't do anything better to satisfy their customer. And if this is how they treat their customers I would suggest others to be careful. No offense doctors are good but owners may need to learn little more about customer service. For others, do get your eyes checked but for your lenses and frames please select who is more better and responsible. read more
