Needed glasses very badly. My last pair broke and I was using a older pair that was 20 yrs. old. They were real weak. Dr. Patel did my exam and he nailed it. This new pair is probably one of the best I have had in a long time. The staff was also professional and attentive to my needs. Turnaround was quick. Price was great. I see bad reviews about this place. Probably about previous staff. Nobody pushed me for extra bells and whistles as if I was at a new car dealership. Although they did ask, I told them I just needed a regular pair of glasses. That was that, as they were still professional and attentive. Last year, my son went to this center for new lenses for an existing pair of glasses. He had the routine eye exam, when the optometrist decided he needed progressive lenses. My son was 21 at the time. He had never needed progressive lenses before and has not needed them since. The bill for just the lenses came out to over $400! The irony was that he was not able to see with the progressives. Needless to say, he had to go back to school so I went alone to Pearle to get some information and they were not at all helpful. Their reason was that my son had to be there. Unfortunately, he had to continue with an older pair of glasses until summer break. We did not go back to Pearle. Why is it so difficult to get a correct, nice pair of lenses for a reasonable price? read more

I thought by having recent blood work I was OK. But because of your photo of my eye and your diagnosis I went to doctor by your suggestion and OMG my blood pressure is through the roof. I thought by being on my blood pressure medication was doing it's job. My bp was alot higher than it should be. thanks for catching this for me. I have been taking my kids here for 6 years. Over the years, I have had a couple negative experiences with the office staff. These occurred early on during our patronage. Despite these encounters, I continued to keep my children as patients there because I really liked the doctor. Well, no more! I had a conflict with work this morning and was unable to take my daughter to her appointment. Fortunately, my oldest was able to take her. Due to an unforeseen road blockage and being forced to take a detour, she arrived late. It was 7 minutes past the appointment time when she checked-in at the front desk. They refused to see my daughter claiming to have a strict 5 minute grace period. I understand the importance of timeliness and respecting the time of others but this late arrival was not intentional nor was it avoidable. I'm not here to challenge their policy but I know that I have waited significantly longer than 5 minutes waiting to see a doctor there in times past. I've never complained about waiting because it is to be expected. But it got me thinking - does the grace period work both ways?? Seems hypocritical. Additionally, if you are going to have such a strict appointment policy, then it should be communicated to the customers/patients. Why am I just hearing about it now after 6 years? In my experience, when a business chooses to have a strict appointment policy, they are 15 minutes and the business/service provider makes a point of clearly communicating it in multiple ways. Posted in the office, communicated in writing (email/online appointment reservations site), verbally shared over the phone when appointment is made or when they call to confirm the appointment, etc. When I called later to cancel an upcoming appointment, as I will now be seeking another eye care provider, the manager tells me if they had called before arriving, they still would have seen her. Really?? So when would that call have had to be made? Before the grace period ended, after, before? What would have been acceptable? Would calling while driving been the safest option when running just bit late? What that tells me is they could have seen her if they wanted to. A phone call while she's driving, a couple mins before arrival should not have been the determining factor on whether or not she was seen. Especially considering the office appeared to be empty with the exception of one customer looking at glasses. Clearly my 6 year loyal patronage of their office is not valued or respected. Fortunately, I have options on where to receive eye care for my children. It will be somewhere where I will be treated as a valued customer. read more

Not a friendly store. And they don't want to fix frames they have sold. I went in to this branch after I bought frames on a trip. When she saw the frames she said 'these are cheap reader glasses. No optical store will put optical lenses in these". That was my first clue that she was CLUELESS. Going back to my original Pearle Vision in Riverside; they are a delight to work with. And, yes, they are putting my lenses in. read more

The older blonde lady never seems to understand that I don't want the most expensive pair of glasses they have. I like basic black frames. And my insurance covers the price completely . She is rude and pushy and needs to be kept behind the counter. I really don't think I'll go back 2019 because i don't want to deal with her. I will definitely go somewhere else. That aside the eye dr is phenomenal and I wishthere were better sale reps there to reflect it because unfortunately do to the lady's lack of customer service skills the over all rating will suffer. My recommendation is to get your exam done there and take your prescription elsewhere read more

I went to this location because they were in my insurance network and sold my favorite frames, Silhouette. They were going to charge me $585 out of pocket for the frames and lenses I wanted. That seemed high to me, so I went to Combs optical, on Hillgrove in Western Springs. First of all, Combs was much more professional and helpful in terms of finding the right frame and lens size. Second, Combs charged me $425 rather than $585 for Silhouette frames and high quality lenses. They also have a great frame selection, so I'd recommend going there. read more

Dr Patel is awesome!!!! I have worn glasses and contacts for 20 years and this is the best experience I've ever had at a chain optometrist. Dr Patel and his staff are friendly, patient and professional. The are also very quick with prescriptions and don't nickle and dime you. They may not offer the steep discounts that my neighborhood chain does, but I keep coming back for the great service. read more

I have bought at least a dozen pairs of glasses for our family over the years and we have received the best service from the exam to at times exhibited delivery. On my most recent visit I was clue less to the amount of time it takes to make glasses with trifocals and sunglasses. Staff rushed my order through without missing any details. I love this place. The doctors spend time with you explaining everything. It's a little more expensive than other places but well worth it. They have always fixed my frames. I've been going here about 4 years now. I love the fact I can get my eye exam there and then purchase my glasses too. That way, if I have any questions about the prescription, the doctor is right there. I highly recommend them. read more
