My Dr was Amber Ather. He was Superfantastic. (I'm certain all the Physicians know their stuff) however for me what was especially comforting was Dr Ather's attention to detail - meaning how clearly he reviewed my intended procedure before we got started. He made me feel that this decision for the Root Canal was absolutely the correct course of action and had a terrific demeanor in explaining things in lay persons terms. He said that you could drive a truck through this infection whole i her jaw. Within days after her first root canal procedure, she was in level 8-10 pain 24 hours a day. Dr. Bagchandani does not believe in giving antibiotics or steroids unnecessarily and thought my daughter did not need them. He would not see my daughter over the weekend in unbearable pain and reluctantly gave her the one antibiotic and then switched it. Her jaw locked up. No amount or combination of painkillers could help her. Her pain was so pain she was throwing up the medications and this dentist was reluctant to give her Zophran. Her jaw locked up. This scenario went on for several visits for almost a month. Dr Bagchandani said that he didn't know how to help her but would not refer us to another doctor and didn't recommend the ER. The final straw was when he did not call us back at 4am when my daughter could not stand the pain any longer and we could not figure out how to find the correct entrance for the MCV ER. We called another dentist that night and he called back in 5 minutes and told us to come in immediately. The infection exploded in her mouth on our way. The new dentist was been able to solve the problem immediately and identify the problem. I'm sure Dr. Bhagchandani has done successful root canals on other people, but he told us many times that HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO, yet would never refer us for any help. I would avoid this dentist at all costs. Negligent, dangerous.

After scheduling an appointment with your office, I was told I would receive an estimate by email within a few days. After waiting about a month without receiving anything, I called three days prior to my scheduled appointment to request the cost, since no estimate had been sent. During that call, I was given a price verbally and was told I would receive confirmation two days prior to my appointment. I also specifically requested that the estimate be emailed to me. Shortly after that call, I received an emailed estimate that was approximately double the price I had just been quoted over the phone. This inconsistency was very concerning and has caused me to question the transparency and reliability of the pricing information I was given. I would appreciate clarification regarding the pricing difference and an explanation of the original treatment outcome.

I was given an estimate and I provided my credit card info and was told it would only be charged for work that might not be covered by my plan and that I would be refunded after claims were paid by Carefirst. I was in great pain at the time and signed their form for work to commence. The end result was Apex charged me over $500 what Carefirst allows for in their contract and Apex was acting out of network contract with the excessive charges. I contested fully with Apex but was not given the refund promised. So I warn anybody using Carefirst insurance. Find somebody else or you may pay a lot more than you should. I will never go back.

I have been with River Run Dental for many years. The service and facilities are very nice, but be…read moreready for low ball/inaccurate quotes for extra services where you're stuck with hundreds of dollars of uncovered service fees. This has happened multiple times to my family where RRD presents a quote that shows after insurance out-of-pocket fees for proposed services. Each time I have agreed to proceed based on those quotes and paid for the quote balance before leaving their office. Next thing I know I receive invoices for fees still due after insurance payments that are very significant. I have met with their billing/treatment coordinator and was told that they do not normally contact insurance companies for establishing customer quotes, but use a general database, although they present "insurance pays" amounts in the quotes. As a note, I did sign each quote that states that I will pay balances not paid by the insurance company, but I assumed quotes would be accurate or at least in the general ballpark. In the future RRD staff has agreed to actually coordinate with my insurance company to provide an accurate quote (this is not standard policy, so you have to ask for it), but I will not be going back. I feel ripped off. FYI, my insurance company is a major insurer.
