Because of the environment and community they have built here at Claremont Sanctuary Pilates, I have found a new sense of confidence, strength, self love, and actual changes to my body that I have never seen. Like last week, I did a 7 mile hike in the Canadian Rockies with little to no struggle, and I would not have been able to a year ago both physically and mentally. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking.

My experience with them has always been amazing, all the instructors are very professional and knowledgeable. I trained with Michell and Hadil throughout my whole pregnancy and they were very accommodating and thorough, helping me to feel strong and pain free. It is hard to train while pregnant, but they made me confidant that I am safe and are probably the reason why I had an easy pregnancy. The studio is always clean and tidy and very well equipped. I even took my father who was minimal experience with pilates and he is now a fan. Cannot recommend sanctuary pilates enough!

It's one of the few places where I walk out feeling like the workout was actually worth the time. I injured my…read moreankle in November and was not seeing any progress with the PT I was receiving through my health insurance due to only seeing them once every two weeks. I started seeing Jasmine twice/week at the end of January and she slowly introduced exercises to help me strengthen, stabilize, and stretch my ankle (as well as my hips, thighs, and calves). Jasmine made a point to understand what my "normal" was before my injury and incorporated exercises that eventually got me back to the activities I enjoy doing. I really appreciate that she explained what the exercises were meant to do, how/where I should be feeling them, and was always willing to answer questions/concerns I had about my progress. Everyone I encountered over the four months I received care was helpful, friendly, and approachable. I highly recommend The Body Center and, though I hope I don't need PT anytime in the future, I would absolutely return if needed.

During the class Linda pays attention to form and ability to make corrections and modifications to maximize the exercises. And she provides information about the muscles and structures that are involved. I and many others have followed Linda from studio to studio and are thrilled that she has opened Bamboo Control Pilates! Additionally, Linda has updated and refurbished the mat and reformer rooms making an inviting and inspiring atmosphere.

This particular class focused on yoga for back pain, so the movements were very gentle and aimed at relieving tension and tightness in the back. I really enjoyed the class and found it helpful. The only downside for me was the air conditioning. I happened to be near a vent, and every time the AC kicked on, a strong blast of very cold air hit me directly. I felt chilly for most of the class, and the cold air dried out my nose and throat--especially during breathwork exercises--causing me to cough a few times.

The environment was welcoming and she was building a beautiful legacy. RIP Julia. Unfortunately, the new owner, April Ruffer, has systematically destroyed the legacy Julia was building. The majority of the instructors either chose to leave or were pushed out as a result of Ms. Ruffner's management style. She does not make an effort to connect with the clients and has taken our continued patronage for granted. Imagine my surprise, after being a client of the studio since January of 2014, receiving a text that my instructor will no longer be at the studio and to expect a refund of my remaining sessions. So much for valuing me as a client and not having the decency to tell me in person or have a real conversation over the phone. Bourne Pilates is definitely a studio you should NOT patronize!
