I finally found MY dentist! I'm typically apprehensive about vising the dentist, but my experience here was as pleasant as possible! The office is nice and is definitely geared towards children. My dentist was Dr. Tekbali, and she's very personable and caring. Her work was equally excellent (thorough yet gentle). She answers every question you may have and provides advice on how to better care for your teeth. She did not rush through my visit and did not try to sell unnecessary treatments. Her assistant was also well-trained. I had experiences at other offices where the assistant would not adequately/properly suction the water or saliva... you can imagine the mess that caused. I experienced none of that trauma here. In all, I highly recommend Dr. Tekbali! read more

The black male doctor there should receive a standing ovation for his text book knowledge and perfect practices, however the woman Ruby in the front should be fired. She charged me my whole dental premium for one root canal, did not properly address anything that my insurance already covered and completely failed me as a customer, then on top of it, this unintelligible woman literally told me I still owe $50 something dollars on my account despite paying an insane amount of money to have high deductibles. A year later I switched jobs and dentists just not to have to look at Ruby's face ever again. I needed two not one root canals and people who have no insurance have paid far less than I have for one tooth which was only $600.00 (AT THE SAME PLACE!). I will never go back to that place again. She is the worst person I have ever come across in dentistry. $1500 for one tooth, no cavities filled and assed out on a premium. Insanity. Then she waited until December to tell me about a payment plan. Do not go here. Ruby is vile. They need to replace Ruby and put someone else in the front. Hearing her voice on the phone just reminded me of how I almost got blood clots if I waited any longer. FIRE HER. read more

Rushed, Impersonal Care and Poor Denture Quality The front desk staff at Perla Dental - DeSoto were great--friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The dentist was always in a hurry and never seemed to truly listen. I struggled to communicate my concerns because she wouldn't take her hands out of my mouth long enough for me to speak. Every visit felt rushed, like they were juggling multiple patients at once. Honestly, it felt more like a cattle line than a dental office. After getting my new dentures, I returned several times for adjustments. Each time, she would grind on them briefly and send me on my way. I told her three different times that the fit was wrong and they needed to be remade, but she kept telling me to "just try to wear them and get used to them." Four weeks in, one of the denture teeth became discolored and looked rotten. They sent the plate to the lab to fix the color, but the fit was still terrible. When I returned again and asked for the dentures to be remade or for a refund--options the dentist had previously mentioned--they refused to do either. I left feeling unheard, frustrated, and stuck with a product that doesn't work for me. If you're looking for personalized care and quality dental work, I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Worse dental experience for myself I've experienced in life! From the front desk to the back where all of the dentists and their assistants are! The front desk calls confused and asking you questions they should know. The assistants aren't friendly. Today I got my wisdom tooth pulled. Dr Medina was very sweet and informative during the procedure. However, he didn't seem very experienced especially the girl that helped him. She was confused about his instructions the entire time! Also, he had to stop and numb me at least 4 times DURING the procedure. I promise I felt literally pain not pressure. I cried aloud, this was not to be over the top and dramatic, this was really me feeling pain not pressure! When I got ready to go I felt no one wanted to further assist me! The doctor left, the assistant left and then a lady I didn't see the entire time that barely spoke English came to give me my after care when I saw the doctor and assistant giving instructions to all other patients. On top of that, I was charged 300 for a bone graft which I did not even need. Again the person at the front told me I needed it so I purchased it. She seemed very inexperienced and lacked knowledge as well. Now I have to wait 5-7 business days for a refund. And if I didn't ask the doctor if he put the bone graft in, I would not have known he did not put it in. So be very careful, some people don't genuinely care and just want the money!! My daughters went before me and they did good with them. But we won't be going back. read more

Although it was my first time going to this dental office, I was so happy with the service and experience that I acquired. I will definitely continue to be a part of this team, as a patient read more

Just had a very rude experience with the young lady sitting at the front desk in the Desoto office. I asked to speak with her manager and she called him to come speak with me as if she had no regard for him reprimanding her at all. After speaking with him in private, he assured me that he would have a talk with her but I want to escalate the situation to a corporate office since I repeatedly asked the young lady to please show better customer service. read more

The office staff here will absolutely let you suffer with pain after a procedure. They will not send your RX to your pharmacy, then they will lie and say they did. Apparently, only one staff member (the office manager) is allowed to contact the pharmacy and she will lie repeatedly about doing it. The pharmacist and two techs all confirmed they had no missed calls and no vcmls from the office manager. Then i had to wait until the office manager came back from lunch before she decided to send in my RX for the pain. Horrible. read more

I always like that they are pretty fast and can get you in on the same day most times I love the dental office very much! read more

Horrible experience!!! Please Do Not go there or take you children there! My daughter had a cavity filled she was in so much after what should of been a simple procedure. She went back to have it fixed but a few weeks later she was having pain again so we had to find another dental office for her after her visit to the new dentist her tooth was great. Also they are really slow had to wait a long time before seeing the dentist. Again can't express enough please do not go there!!!!!! read more

I gave them a two because they occupied the seats. The Dentist may do wonderful work; however, the young people (two young white girls) at the desk act as though you are disturbing them--rather than providing good customer service. I walked in and asked them if they take Mail Handlers Benefit Plan insurance. The first one said is that an HMO (I am an older Black lady), "I said I am not sure but don't believe so." She turns around to the other one who appeared to be "so very NOT interested" who looks at the card briefly and said: 'no we don't take this". I asked and how do you verify that? "Oh we make a call." Well if you make a call but yet all you did was look at the card, please tell me how are you following your stated procedure. I leave the Dental Clinic and 10 minutes later call my MHBP to see if they were in the Network. I alerted the Agent that I asked for assistance at the Perla but the receptionist(s) were not helpful. The MHBP Agent took over, made the call, and found that one of the 3 Dentists are in the network. Why wasn't I given the information. I am fairly certain that this was not racially motivated. It was more or less LAZY and UNMOTIVATED reactions. I am a 33 year retired federal employee who has worked in Human Resources, Investigations, and Compliance. I don't know if they are saving their energy or brain cells but you WILL LOSE customers...you lost me. Please give me a call if you need a true Customer Service personnel to work your front desk; or, to provide some training in customer care: 469-337-0901. read more

I found this place through my insurance and I'm very satisfied with my Dental work. Very reasonable prices to me.

Was contacted by Perla Dental employee to confirm my 2 kids appointment at 12:00pm and then employee asked if I would like to move appointment up to 10:30am because they had openings so I said yes. Appointment was at 10:30am and kids not taken back to start until 12:05pm. Totally unacceptable. Was told that they were very busy. Not very happy about their unprofessionalism and definitely will not recommend this location read more

Poor customer service and patient priority. I had a dental emergency for a broken tooth and needed two possible root canals as well. I called Perla Dental on a Friday and was told they could get me in that Saturday at 2 pm. I told the young lady on the phone I needed extensive work done, so I am not sure why they would make my appointment so close to closing time. When I get there at my scheduled time, I wasn't even called back to my room for a hour and 15 min waiting in the lobby! What was the point of my appointment time if I wouldn't be called back at least around the scheduled time?? Once in the back, the dentist was very rude and dismissive. She looked as if she were in a rush. I only found out about them closing at 4 pm because I heard another patients mother being rudely told her son's dental work would have to wait until next week when the clinic reopens because "the doctor's don't get paid after 4pm" How unprofessional! I overheard the patients mother telling the tech that the dentist just told her that her son's teeth would be taken care of that day so why is he saying it would not be. The tech was VERY rude and the mother ended up asking him to leave her room with that attitude. Understandable! After the tech left her room, he along with some other workers gathered outside my room and I could actually hear them discuss this patient and their treatment! How unprofessional! The tech was saying they could fix the two teeth on a weekday, but on a Saturday they were trying to get out of there! I was appalled at what I was hearing! I personally work at a health clinic and know how much of a HIPAA violation it is to openly discuss another patients care loudly where others can hear, and we also don't refuse service to our patients just because we are closing. If a patient walks in 5 min before closing, not only must we see them, we must treat them as extensively as we can as if this patient walked in 5 min after opening! The doctor FINALLY came into my room and rushed through the explanation of my x-rays and told me she was sending me with an antibiotic and I can reschedule for my treatment. I understand needing to take an antibiotic for the teeth I needed a root canal on but could they at least address the fact that I had a broken tooth in my mouth already causing me pain??? When I explained to the doctor I had been waiting since 2 pm for something to be done to my teeth she rudely cut me off and said "what is being done is I'm sending you with this RX and you can follow up after" and just walked out of the room! I was livid! Never again will I step foot in this so called business again for treatment for me or anyone else in my family! read more
