We each ordered from a different place and shared it all. First up, was BBQ Duck and Roast Pork over rice, from HKS BBQ. This included vegetables and soup. Delicious! Lunch Box provided a combo meal that included lamb, pork, noodles, rice, and soup. The portions were huge, and it all tasted great! We got a vegetarian Pad Thai from Wiangkuk Thai Food that was also very good. One of my cousins picked up a Teriyaki Chicken that was a huge portion, and also included soup. I'm not sure which vendor provided that but it was good. We also got Scallion Pancakes that were really good. Bubble Teas completed our meal! It's hard to beat the food at this place. It was a good day of eating. We all enjoyed all the food and ended up taking home leftovers. After a very filling lunch, we explored the shops. There were a lot of interesting places but we were disappointed to find several of them closed for the day.

Tip: If you're looking for decent eateries to visit at Dynasty Centre, Great Fountain Fast Food,…read moreSamosa Fusion, and HK Garden are decent and budget-friendly. I have been to Dynasty Centre a handful of times. It's an area in Scarborough that I used to frequent with my parents many moons ago. With so many eateries in Markham, we rarely come down here. A few months ago, I dropped by to dine at Samosa Fusion with friends. This place offers an all-you-can-eat buffet with a special promotion at the time of $20 per person. I don't know if it has gone up in price, but it was regularly $25, which is still decent to stuff yourself silly. Next door to it is HK Garden. The Hong Kong-style milk tea (iced) stands out as being one of the best drinks I have had in a while. I recently did takeout from Great Fountain Fast Food. It's in the food court. The fried beef rice noodles were excellent. This combo came with soup and a drink. The hot and sour soup was amazing. I am still dreaming about the iced lemon drink, which was refreshing and so good if you are a lemon fan. This meal was less than $20. It was a great value for the quality of food and drink that I got. There is lots of parking at this plaza. I've seen it being fairly busy on a Saturday. It's fairly quiet after work on weekdays. I have been fortunate to not experience idiot drivers at this plaza, which is so refreshing! I am still working my way through the businesses. I have seen stores that sell DVDs, herbal stores, and more. So far, I've liked the eateries that I have visited. There's plenty for me to explore. (193)

There are a lot of the same types of stores - multiple day spas, places to get your haircut, and of course a multitude of restaurants both on the perimeter and inside at the food court. The parking lot technically has arrows that point you down which way to park but I've seen them ignored so just be careful. If all the surface parking is gone, there is underground parking towards the back of the plaza. The entrance to the main plaza is not the most accessible. The buttons to open the door automatically don't work. Right now the food court is take-out only. All of the establishments are open. They had some hand sanitizer at the entrance to the food court from the inside and social distancing stickers in front of each of the restaurants. I did notice that at the leftmost restaurant they were allowing people to bring in their own containers to get take-out. Maybe not the best idea during Covid.

Since then, this bubble tea franchise has shut down in the GTA. Chung Chun Rice Dog has taken over this spot. This change explains Skycity in a nutshell. There is a high concentration of bubble tea shops at Skycity. Competition is fierce. I was recently here, thinking that I should get some bubble tea. I actually couldn't decide because the selection was insane and proceeded with my errands instead... haha! I tend to visit Chatime the most here to get my bubble tea fix. Apart from an oversaturation of bubble tea stores, this place has a ton of food. I feel like it'll take me years to eat my way through this place. I recently visited Chung Chun and had an excellent experience. I love their Korean rice dogs and I'm thrilled that this location is a lot closer to me than heading over to North York to satisfy my cravings. My local Cheese Garden is here. I like that I can order online and drop by to pick up my goods. There are benches scattered around the plaza in case you are in a food coma after stuffing yourself to rest or take a nap. There is plenty of parking, although it does getting busy at night. Many eateries and bubble tea places open till 11:30 pm or midnight. There are other businesses, such as electronic stores, nail salons, and more. I have yet to make a dent in these categories here. The catch is that when you exit onto Midland, you can only turn right. Although it's convenient for me to turn left and head home, I don't mind cycling around the block to get home. It's safer considering how weird drivers can be around this area. One of these days, I will visit every bubble tea place here. The problem is that I have my usual places in Markham that it's tough to break decent habits. (342)

My manager introduced me to this place. Our team drops by now and again to enjoy good meals at affordable prices. The food stall that I frequent the most is Arigato Box. When you are staring at all the food stalls, Arigato Box is the one on the right. This stall has a huge menu that's on a board. It's got pictures and prices. I tend to get the bento box because it has a bit of everything that I love and there is more than one type of bento box. I love yeung chow fried rice. Both Honey Pepper and Dynasty BBQ make this dish exceptionally well. They both don't skip on huge shrimp and veggies. It's delicious. Sea Star has Hong Kong-style items. I remember getting a seafood dish with two sauces with my manager. We loved the tomato sauce, but the white sauce had no flavour at all. We still loved the comforting food. There used to be a Vietnamese food stall called Pho Tai Loi. I loved the pho and vermicelli dishes. I was sad when it closed for good. I believe that a Filipino stall has taken over. I haven't tried it. I will admit that I rarely shop at other stores in this mall. It does have a second floor. The only reason why I was up there was because I needed to use the washroom. Washrooms are upstairs. The food court is downstairs. There is a snack shop called MyDelish on the first floor that has decent Filipino baked goods and more. I ended up getting pork rinds that had palm vinegar. They were fabulous. I remember getting bubble tea at Phoenix Bubble Tea eons ago, which is roughly across from the food court. I don't recall if I loved or hated it, so I need to get another one to sort that out. There was a clothing store next door from which my manager bought a purple hoodie. He is more of a mall shopper than I am. He was extremely happy with his purchase. I do know that there's Gino's Pizza. It's like the beacon of light at this mall. It has always been there since I found out about this mall. I like it here. It's a good place to stop by when you're on a budget, but want good food. I should visit more businesses in this mall when I'm back. (103)

I recall that the Sweet Culture is one of the original stores from the beginning. The owner advertised on the Chinese TV station to promote their traditional Chinese sweet soups and desserts. People patronized Sweet Culture after seeing midnight Chinese movies at the former Market Village. The (now) new guy behind the counter looks so similar to the original owner that I swear they are related (LOL). The New City Restaurant is another original store. The store next to the current Eat With Fun Roast Restaurant was originally a gift and craft store. Enough for the nostalgia. The mall building has not been kept up with times. There has been no renovation, but some upkeeping works are done. The saving graces are the various eateries. From roast meat, to Shanghainese delights, to steamed pot rice, to Hong Kong cafes, to Hong Kong western diner - they serve unapologetically authentic comfort food from the far east. Looking through the windows, the numerous faces in each and every stores tell you the food here win their seals of approvals. According to a Chinese friend who is a construction worker, there is not a single bad HK milk tea in this mall. A couple stores have changed since this plaza has opened, but there have been shops that have been here for decades, like the store that sells popcorn and cotton candy. Or the store that sells sugar cane drinks. More food court booths have opened here, though the one that is directly in the middle of the food court always seems to close, probably because feng shui isnt as great in the spot, no idea tbh. The not so dollar, dollar store is here selling any item you can think of. There are fewer bootleg dvd shops as before. Here's the question that I have been facing at work. We have a document with New in its title. Is it really new when this document has existed for a few years? I feel the same way about New Century Plaza. When you visit it, it's like the century look and feel dominate more than new. It is an older plaza. What I noticed is that there are a lot of stores selling Chinese herbs and medicine. I'd imagine that 80% of the stores that I had passed by were herbal ones. Besides the restaurant, across from it was a bookstore. It was a nice change. Before we left, we can across a chicken stand. The chicken looked weird and shredded. I made a comment about it, which made my friends laugh hard. It looked like mystery meat to me. Parking was a bit crazy on a Thursday at around 1 pm. I did manage to find a parking spot. It was much better when we left at 3 pm. I don't drop by this place often, but it's worth it for New Century Restaurant, which has fabulous dim sum. There was also one big florist and a bookstore.  The demographics makes sense as the youngsters have moved on to the shiny newer malls.   Something makes me think this place can still get busy on the weekends though because there are still a lot of Chinese up here that use these products and everything else for that matter!

I had a disappointing experience with the pharmacy services at Shopper's Drug Mart in Six Points…read morePlaza, and I feel compelled to caution potential customers. On January 24th, I called the pharmacy and requested a delivery. I was informed it would arrive the following day on the 25th. There was no mention whatsoever of a delivery fee. Given that my medication is covered by my employer, the assumption of no payment required seemed reasonable to me, especially when it was not discussed during the initial call. I usually pick up my medication and pay for it in person actually, so I genuinely didn't know. Fast forward to January 29th, five days later, the delivery guy called in advance and asked for $2 upon arrival, which was the first time I had heard about this. I attempted to pay with a $20 bill when he arrived - it was all I had in my purse - only to be refused. Then begins the saga of trying to settle this paltry sum with the pharmacy. Upon being contacted by the pharmacy an hour later, I am met with hostility and inflexibility by a woman - she sounded Asian but I'm not entirely sure. Despite offering various payment methods, including a TD Debit Visa, paying online via their website or making a bank transfer, all are summarily rejected. Instead, I am bluntly told that only a traditional credit card will suffice, which I do not possess. She was increasing agitated and hostile at my suggestions to pay her. The pinnacle of unprofessionalism is reached when I am threatened with a ban on future deliveries and subjected to accusatory remarks. The pharmacist was angry and insisted that I should have known about the delivery fee despite it never being mentioned during the initial conversation. I told her this, and she said that he did tell me over the phone on the 24th and accused me of lying. I don't know how she can know this when she wasn't present during the call. I asked her if I could pay the delivery the next time I pick up my medication, and she just says, "Fine, whatever." The entire exchange left me feeling demeaned, disrespected, and utterly disgusted with the level of customer service provided. To be treated like a criminal over a mere $2 charge is not only absurd but indicative of a pharmacy that prioritizes profit over patient care. In conclusion, if you value your time, money, and sanity, I don't recommend Shopper's Drug Mart pharmacy at Six Points Plaza if you have other options. The sheer incompetence and unprofessionalism on display was unparalleled.
